I Highly recommend this if you've got any tense muscles, or, if you are just tense... because of all of this.
* I do not own, or get a penny for this recommendation.
I just want to share. What I do.

This sounds great KALI. I think I am going to order it. I always order from smile.amazon.com to help animals since I love my pups. I am extremely tense with all this virus stuff, a son in DC , my mother in a Nursing home and whether or not my hell raising daughter is being careful and last on my list is the darn work project due Monday. I am just out of sorts today.

And,
I just got off the phone with my daughter who lives in Las Vegas and works in the Casino with her bf. She was audibly sick with a heavy chest cold and cough. She said the previous two days she had not been out of bed and quite sick. The baby (my new grandson) has had a runny nose for a couple of weeks and his father (who works at circus circus and is also now out of work) is ill with similar. She sounded very unwell but says she didn't want to worry me. Vegas is a direct target for the virus to be shuttled in on airplanes from around the world. Disaster imo.
Daughter says she will go to doctor if she gets sicker. She has a fever of 100.1. I can hear the weight of congestion in her chest.

Thank you & God bless you; to those here posting the truth and accurate info! priceless

How the coronavirus is impacting rural Utah
[...]

Garfield County Commissioner Leland Pollock said he disagrees with the statewide order on in-person dining, saying that decision should’ve been made locally for the county's 4,900 residents.

[...]

Pollock said the hit to the economy will be “significant.” Already, fewer people are traveling. He tells 2News:

We’re not telling people to stay away. You have 93% of this county that’s federal public land. There’s a huge area for people to visit.
Still, state health officials are encouraging social distancing — staying at least 6 feet away from others and limiting the size of groups.

Fewer people are at Bear Lake, although this is the slow season, said Rosalie Noorda, who leads the local Chamber of Commerce.

[...]

In Price, first responders are now limiting their exposure — leaving gear outside the front door, only having firefighters entering homes if they’re needed, and fewer people are responding to calls.

[...]

“Our police chief for our city has set up his officers to, between calls, to help elderly people get groceries that can’t get to them,” said Fitzgerald Petersen, fire chief. “That’s as big as it gets.”

Single mother of five fights for coronavirus testing
[...]

Jeannettie De La Cerda said she went to get tested Thursday. But, by the time she got to the facility, they had run out of test.

“I cannot believe this, you don’t know it but people are cutting in line left and right… and I’ve been in line for four and a half hours now with four of my kids in the car and I am sick… this is ridiculous," Jeannettie told KPRC 2 Investigates.

Jeannettie is showing all the symptoms of the coronavirus, and she is scared for good reason. Her doctor told her Thursday that she needed to be tested immediately.

Late Thursday night, the doctor told Jeannettie that she would provide her with at-home coronavirus test kit. She had to pick-up the test Friday.

However, she was too sick today to do that.

That is when reporter Bill Spencer offered to go pickup the test and rushed it straight to her door.

With her five children in the other room, Jeannettie gave herself that test as KPRC 2 filmed through a window.

[...]

Now, Jeannettie has been tested and her test is being processed by a local lab. In three days, she will know the outcome of those tests.

WideOpen, hope your daughter and grandson get better soon. It must be so frightening for you. Hope the BF is okay too.

So my spouse just walks into the Living Room and said things are going to get bad. He wanted to go pick up a mower part tomorrow but the place is only doing mail orders now.

I wish! But that's not so, unfortunately. The cases across the world show that to NOT be so.

The virus does NOT care about the weather at all. We need to be prepared, not trust what some have said about warmer weather (or "April") bringing relief - it's simply not true.

Will heat kill the coronavirus? - ScienceDirect

I think the jury is out on this still. We need more data. Right now it looks like "warm" and "humid" isn't the virus's cup of tea. Most of this is based on the family of viruses to which CV belongs:

Human coronavirus circulation in the United States 2014–2017 - ScienceDirect

Calling it either way is premature but I am hopeful, since it is in the genus of coronavirus.

Seem like they also travel a lot. Use public transportation more so than in other cities.

Charlotte travelers stuck in the Galapagos Islands after flights canceled amid coronavirus outbreak
Four friends from Charlotte are currently stuck in the Galapagos Islands after their return flight to the United States was canceled amid concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

BB-S, AS, LC and CC have been in the Galapagos Islands since March 11. The group planned on taking a vacation together, but the trip has been anything but relaxing.

[...]

“The world has never shut down like this before. We had no way to anticipate that this was gonna happen,” the stranded traveler told WBTV.

She said a few days after arriving in the Galapagos Islands, the group learned their return trip to the United States had been canceled. BB-S said American Airlines contacted her about the cancellation and said it was unable to re-book the flight.

BB-S said that her group had prepared to practice good hygiene on the trip because of the coronavirus outbreak, but they hadn’t planned on being stuck on an island.

[...]

BB-S said that she and her friends are currently on the island of Santa Cruz and they are staying in an apartment.

"We're staying here. We're really not allowed to leave. We go to the grocery store once a day and buy enough food for 24 hours in hopes that we will only be here for another 24 hours," said BB-S.

She said her wife does have have medical conditions and only has enough medication to last a few more days. She said the group fears they will be forced to stay on the island for an extended period of time due to the coronavirus outbreak.

So here is a question for people on here .

does anybody suspect they had this in late January/February?

Yes. Left work on Jan 21st feeling foggy, cold & worn down. Temperature was 101-104 for the next few days, with severe fatigue, chest pain, coughing, the feeling of fluid in my lungs and shortness of breath. Figured it was a bad flu and stayed home with Tylenol, NyQuil, mucinex and my regular rescue inhaler. Took about 5 days to really get out of bed and then everything made me tired. Finally went to urgent care the first week in February and got a diagnosis of atypical pneumonia and antibiotics (only doxy since I’m allergic to the zpak). 2 more visits later and I’ve finally got a clear X-ray but my left lung still “sounds funky” according to the doctor. So now on a combo steroid+long acting brochodilator which has helped quite a bit. I’ve got asthma and this was really different than any bronchitis, cold or flu that I’ve ever had. Several people I work with came down with the same thing at about the same time... I think a colleague picked it up at an investment conference near the beginning of January.

CALIFORNIA

THIS IS SO WRONG... “US’s 2nd largest city health system has told its staff that it is essentially abandoning hope of containing #COVID19 and instructed doctors *NOT* to test symptomatic patients if a positive result won’t change treatment.” L.A. County gives up on containing coronavirus, tells doctors to skip testing of some patients

This. Is why I believe that we don't have any sort of qualitative data to make accurate estimates of what will happen next.

National Institutes of Health warn that 70,000 Americans could be infected with coronavirus by the end of next week in 'dramatic increase' of cases

Coronavirus figures could dramatically increase with 70,000 Americans confirmed as having the virus | Daily Mail Online

Gosh, I sure hope not. That's triple the rate we have right now approximately.
I think we eat better than most Chinese folks. We are certainly wealthier.

I think the problem is that the gov is doing nothing here, and the young think they're invincible, whereas the Chinese didn't have that superior feeling - they didn't know one way or the other when it started.

Also, as @10ofRods mentioned, we may have more young and female smokers here perhaps, but since the Chinese have far worse air, I'm not sure that's such a factor with this virus.

The Chinese also have thousands of years of Chinese medicine which may have helped many - to an unknown degree.

If I had to vote on it I'd say it's lack of government response combined with non-attentiveness of the young in the US that's the issue, sadly.

I think smoking is a major risk factor here. Air pollution notwithstanding.

But the sheer size of bodies in relationship to the lungs is a factor as well (in any illness that diminishes oxygen to the body).

[bbm]

what exactly does 'troops continue to get called up' mean?
I believe it means they are activating troops in hot spots to help with disinfecting, food delivery, transportation, etc. In some places they were even helping to restock shelves in grocery stores. I haven’t heard any officials say they were going to use them to enforce quarantine.

<snip>
Current National Guard COVID-19 response missions include, but are not limited to: response planners; support to medical testing facilities; response liaisons and support to state Emergency Operations Centers; support to healthcare professionals; logistics support; assisting with disinfecting/cleaning of common public spaces; providing transportation support for health care providers; collecting and delivering samples; and assisting with sample administration.

One of my biggest worries was who would be able to care for my special needs ones of the pet variety.

I feel much better and assured that people out of state said they’d drive to take care of these matters should I get infected. I was worried that they might not able to fly and what if all my close local contacts are infected.

I feel better now.

The number of infected in the US is roughly 20,000 this evening. It was 14,000 this morning. I think it will be more than 70,000 in a week if testing is available. The following week the numbers will likely skyrocket with all the Spring partiers freely spreading the love.

Rsbm / BBM:
I am beginning to wonder if anyone really knows what is going on and I am beginning to wonder if I even want to know.

Lol! True!!

So finally some people are starting to come around in my circle, and earlier they asked me some questions and my answer to every one was “great question...the data is still coming out on that, I’m really not sure...but I say be on the safe side and wipe it down just in case” lol

They said “I thought you were supposed to know all this” hahaha
