MI MI - Romulus, LIVING BlkFem 40-60, Double Amputee, Names: Cj, Jesse, China Black, May'18

The only exception would be if she was adopted by a relative, like an aunt or cousin or grandparent, because of the death of parents or being removed from her parents' custody.
This one can be picked up by DNA.

I was thinking along the line of DNA doesn't turn anything because of non-family adoption.

So, we have two elements saying who she isn't which helps narrowing down our pool of matching.
If a MP report states that "she is an international adoptee" or "trying to find her biological family", or whatever similar, you can comfortably eliminate the MP as a possible match. Because it will be a blatant rule-out!

I've always been reminded of Chyna Black when I hear her name. I wonder if she knew about her and liked the sound of the name or if it was something of more significance. I wish we knew the supposed origins of where she thinks the various names might have come from, or what they remind her of.

Double posting is a typical bug on WS! :)

I think that when we are stuck at matching, it is easier to start with finding who she is not, so we proceed by eliminating obvious rules-out.

Now that we know that she didn't have a higher education and is not an adoptee out of the extended relatives, it makes matching easier.
Because thus far, we eliminate impossible matches.

So far, we found that by her way of speaking, Black China:
- didn't have a university education
- was not an adoptee out of extended family.

It already eliminates a pool of possible matches, like a doctor or a lawyer SAHM wife.
We can also comfortably eliminate the MP adopted by a Caucasian couple unless she had been adopted by her foster parents.

We can now have better clues about key aspects:
- Mental/neurological disorder: homelessness, no university education
- Not an interracial adoptee (unless adopted by a family relative or her foster parents, but the latter is more unlikely than not).

Still leaves us with too many possibilities in Black and missing women in her current age bracket!

Too sleep deprived right now for searching other clues about who she cannot be.
Will do that after having caught up with my sleep debt.

Because it provides interesting clues:
- Jamaican, Southern Asian origins. So, I think that it can point out to her origins.
- Is it me or her facial features are consistent with being of Asian and African racial admixture? I don't ask this question implying anything pejorative. I ask this question because Afro-American can uncover much more than her skin colour and hair.
For example, a SA Zulu lady and an Afro-American descent of Ethiopia are of very different bone structure.
Example to illustrate my point. I want to underscore that the two ladies are not missing persons! Their photos are published to illustrate my point about Afro-American are anything but identical.

Zamona Nene, personal trainer in South Africa. She is a celeb South African chef's sister (Zola Nene): Zamo Van Der Westhuizen on Instagram: “We are wondering if we should get out of our pjs yet...it’s a hard NO for the moment‍♀️ #pjsallday #motherandson #mygownbuddy”

Kuoth Wiel, an actress of Sudan. Has been living in the US since childhood KUOTH on Instagram: “ . . @revolve #revolveme”

Unable to upload photos from Instagram, sorry :(

I won't tire myself to repeat that they are not missing persons and they are not of our lady's family.
If I have to repeat myself until needing Ventolin, I'm ok.

My point is that Cavalli Sforza's studies of migrations through genetics are of serious help for helping giving JD identities back.
I know, Wikipedia  But right now, I'm betting that the majority of sleuthers have not heard of migrations studies through genetics: Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza - Wikipedia

OT: I remember when I was in High School that he replied to my email about my Philosophy teacher's stupid and non scientific affirmation. He answered by telling me a story about having to strongly disagree with his Religion teacher when he was a secondary school student as if he were telling about his past to one of his grandchildren. I was 19yo, it was the year of the Baccalauréat (Secondary School diploma before going to university) when he told me this story of his own childhood.

More about migrations studies through genetics here: Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza - Wikipedia "External Links" menu

I think that by studying her facial features and her morphology, we can ask help to a geneticist specialised in migrations through genetics.
Geneticians are more often than not subspecialists, so a genetician working on rare diseases won't be of help.
We must ask to a specialist at studying migrations through genetics and if he answers, we can submit it to the Michigan MP Unit.

However, not sure if a genetician will accept working on it pro bono. It doesn't hurt to try though!

Just wondering why she uses the name China Black. Interesting and strange: I found somebody with the nickname China Black who went to the Wayne State University in Detroit.

I wouldn't bet all my money on saying she wasn't educated, just because she speaks in a certain way. We know now that Dr. Cherryl Lamont Pearson isn't a match. Thanks for that @Giuc0. And remember, people of all walks of life can become homeless and not surprisingly lot's of them are intelligent (not the same as educated). Although I understand bringing up theories for narrowing the search down. Let's be careful by saying things about her possible background and what she is or she isn't.

She may be intelligent, but it's obvious that she didn't go to univerdity based on the way she speaks.

Intelligent and educated are not the same, true.
But the way she speaks is clearly inconsistant with being in an environment where you are around people with university diplomas.

Lots and lots of African Americans say who you is. My wife says it. She also asks where you stay instead of where do you live. It isn't just a southern thing.

Genetics is tricky too. If you put all my wife's eleven siblings side by side some don't even resemble each other, but those with the same fathers have similar bone structure but their color ranges from very dark to very bright (means light skinned). China would be called bright.

Finally, most black folk I've been around can talk proper, which is what they call talking like white folks, but they normally only do that in formal situations usually around white people. Obviously, some people make assumptions about you from the way you speak. I have a thick southern accent, I'm white and have 3 college degrees yet I've met people who think I'm uneducated if I talk like a common southerner.

IMO China could be from anywhere.

Thanks for your insights. My message was...be careful building up theories about somebody's background and you showed us by posting this. See my post #50

I was looking at Shequenia Burnett's NamUs because the case was just so strange and I noticed that it listed 'Johnson' as an alias name for her. Obviously that's an extremely common last name, but since it was also one of the surnames China used I feel like it's worth mentioning.

Shequenia's nose and eyebrow are definitely pierced as well as her ears, but I don't see these (or scars from where the piercings might have been) on China. She's still a longshot, but between the last name and the fact that she's still considered missing despite one leg being found make me interested.

Maybe going off on a tangent here, but I've seen missing people considered 'recovered' when much smaller body parts than an entire leg were discovered. Then again, I also know of one person who is still listed as missing in NamUs despite the fact that his head was discovered, so there's definitely no possibility of him still being alive. I wonder if anyone was able to determine if Shequenia was alive or not when she lost her leg?

Very interesting and perhaps we should get back to looking for her identity....

In my reply to you asking "ok, where do we start now?", I've just been realising that it may convey the undertone of being angry against whom disagrees with me.

Au contraire ! as we say in French.
Actually, by reading your disagreements with me, I came to realise that I'm stuck.
"Back to square #1" I was saying in my own thoughts.

So, since by disagreeing with me, I realised that I am back to square #1 at finding her identity, I answer by asking "So, where do we start?" as I'd drink some water when I am thirsty.
When I don't understand a disagreement, I ask a "how" question.

Because you can spend all day at preaching a converted person, which means in French trying to convince someone already agreeing with you, about the why.
However, being convinced about the why doesn't equal "problem solved".
Exactly similar as you want to motivate a child at behaving well, but no matter how motivated, he still doesn't behave. You want to motivate him? Congratulations, you have already motivated him. Seriously. Now, being motivated doesn't mean that he knows what to do for solving a problem.
You give boundaries, but if reward and punishment don't work = something else anything but motivation is going on.
Would you punish a blind child by asking him to find where's Waldo? Humm, doesn't work.

When I ask "Ok so how... ?" means that I hear what you say, and I am not angry at you. Not at all.

When you tell me that "there are options for good dental care in poverty", I ask "how?" because the Northern American and European healthcare systems are two different animals.
Instead of trying to guess by speculating, I'd rather ask a question even if it's a stupid question for other people.

When you disagree with me, it leads to understand that I have gaps in my knowledge. Therefore, I prefer asking "how" questions, no matter how obvious and stupid they are.
Because the answers are obvious for you, not for me.

I prefer asking stupid questions than staying stupid by acting like US president , pretending to be an expert when I'm not.

When I ask "how?", I am not angry.
I ask because I want to improve my knowledge about something.

I prefer looking like a stupid sleuther than persisting in my mistake by not asking "how" questions.

Writing this message to clear up any bad communication on my part. Want to right my wrongs the sooner the better.

Hope the way I have written doesn't offend anyone.

If it does and I don't understand, please explain to me how I was wrong because I may not understand right away.
So, I don't repeat the same wrongs over and over.

It's ok with me....I know your style by now and most of the times I like it....you're persistent, but sometimes a little overwhelming. And not wrong, bad communication or a disagreement persé. Give yourself a break. I don't perceive you're comments as angry. Ok, how can we built this case up from the start again. And let me be clear you are not stupid at all IMO.

Did anybody had this thought...maybe this lady is totally ok in the situation she is. I mean there are people caring for her, she has a roof above her head, food on the table. Let's theorize she was transient....I didn't read anywhere that she was overly upset about the fact that she doesn't remember who she is. Maybe I missed something? Her caretakers want to know her identity, is it just that important to her? @CiuCo do you remember the older man from Canada, they can't find his identity and although he remembers things....they can't get a lead, confirming the things he says....probably totally ok with his living situation.

Humm, she is not ok the way she is. She absolutely wants to be found.

Michigan State Police attempt to identify Metro Detroit woman who doesn't remember her identity

Her carers say in the videos that it takes such a toll that some days, she is so depressed she refuses to get out of the bed.

I wish I could agree with you, but her carers say otherwise

Ok, lets say she really wants to be found....and she is sad about the whole situation....it says us...."keep on searching", but I'm afraid she isn't reported missing and we will not find her in the regular places we are used to search in....and then back to your question. Where do we begin? I find it really hard to give an answer to that question.

Imo, they could "begin" with much stronger MSM coverage nationwide. National morning and late night show interviews might help reveal her identity. Of course, maybe a genetics test that could get funded through donations. I'd bet too that if there was a way to campaign directly with Black churches and organizations in local Detroit as well as other places across the country where she may have connections someone will likely know her or her family. She's identifiable for sure.

Medical question - Forgive my ignorance on this topic but here I go.

Is there a way they can examine with CAT scan or X-ray her legs to get an estimate on how long they've been amputated? Would an imaging test reveal anything that could be a clue to her identity or to what caused her to need an amputation?
