Victim: Amber Lynn Costello, 27, missing Sept 2010, found Gilgo Beach Dec 2010 *Rex Heuermann charged*

Someone posted this on reddit and I had noticed the same thing. During the LISK podcast’s Amber episode they show some photos to DS ambers former roommate and he seemed to recognize one of the people in the photos. He asked a producer what the guy does for a living and they show attempts to bleep it out but it certainly sounds like they say he used to own a landscaping service. Anyone else hear this? I’ve done some light digging trying to connect the dots and locate a potential poi but haven’t gotten very far yet. Anyone have an idea on who they might be referring to? I know the obvious answer might be Bisset but I don’t think that’s who they are referring to.

I found that same part of the show very interesting.

Also, the producer/lead journalist producer said that he didn't think Joe Brewer
had anything to do with Shannan's death
HE STARTS TO SAY SOMETHING ELSE
and the show CUTS to another person talking.

The producers of Mopac cut the sentence of the Chris Maas (or Masss?) guy talking
about Brewer and Shannan in mid-stream. Someone told Maas/Mass to take it out.

And - what was the purpose of that entire production anyway? All it did was interview
the families and then point fingers at Burke.

Can you attach that one with a time stamp? Bissett was much talked about almost from the beginning. Many bloggers were telling us they know a cop who told them etc.,etc that Bisset did it.

Some of us believe Burke and Bisset knew each other. We know that Spota came right out in the beginning and said Bisset was not a suspect. How the hell would he know that so early in the investigation - such as it was?

Sure it’s here at 37:26 into the show. ‎LISK: Long Island Serial Killer: E5: Amber on Apple Podcasts
The host also goes on to say that the person DS picked out is the same person who SC Maureen’s friend said sounded like the person who called her shortly after Maureen went missing.

It seems to me the guy knows exactly who he recognized and it was so troubling it had to be kept out. The interviewer all but said it was probably a cop and stopped just short of it. From all that I heard going back 15 years is this is what certain cops did: certain ones rounded up the working girls for a party and whatever happened happened.

What I never figured out is when Bellone publicly accused DA Spota of running a criminal enterprise no one asked him what the heck is he talking about. One would also think Spota would have asked the same thing.

The funniest thing Team Spota did was to appeal the conviction on the basis that Jim Hickey was a liar. And who would know better than Spota as Hickey was their LIAR IN CHIEF. Why do you think they made him the CO of Criminal Intel, one of the most important units in the SCPD. He got involved in everything that needed his special 'expertise'. They even used him to investigate the theft of the bag out of Burke's SUV. That was really a minor crime that should have been handled by the precinct detective squad, but NO this required special handling. It needed Burke's Palace Guard.

Amber Costello disappeared 10 years ago today.

Ten years. An entire decade.

It’s beyond time for answers and justice. Keep the story alive, say their names, share their faces and be their voices. Let’s keep it going for Amber, Melissa, Maureen, Megan, Shannan, Jessica, Valerie, Peaches, Cherries, and all the Does linked to this case.

All I could make out of the interviewer's response to DS asking what the guy did for a living was " garble garble garble services ". It immediately made me think that what was said was "emergency services". Which if course made me think of CPH.

But who the hell knows ? I've been stuck on the CPH square of the chess board for over 10 years now, so at this point, maybe I just hear what I want to hear.

I think the response would be different if it was CPH. Schaller must be aware of CPH, I would think he would recognize him as he was televised numerous times. That's assuming Schaller was interested enough in the case to watch some of the specials that were televised nationally.

I'd still like to know why they edited the audio to leave out what ever precedes "service". It's not as if they named an individual. Perhaps to create suspense?

There is another major TV production coming out about Burke. When, with these things it is usually a long time but it is in the works. I am sure Gilgo will be part of it. I know these people spent a lot of time and money on it. We just have to Waite and see

Good point. Maybe what proceeded " services " was something as simple as " park ".

One last thing...it's interesting to me that DS seems to have so much " disgust " for sex workers, since he actively participated in being the strong arm end of things for Kim and Amber. (insert eyeroll) I also wonder what ever happened to Amber's phone and purse if she left them behind. " Oh, she didn't return from a date ? Guess I won't report her missing, guess I won't call LE , guess I'll just pitch her stuff to the curb. Dying gazelle and all that crap. Boo hoo. " He's full of *advertiser censored*, imho.

are you in it too? no one has kept banging the drum longer than you.

what is the word on burke and spota and McPartland, are they still "the administration"
tight as 3 bugs in a rug?
or is spota really pissed that he is 80 and going to die in prison

Judge Azrack's decision that spota and McPartland are not getting a new trial re;
Hickey committing purjury (or not) - and went into 61 pages of discussing hickey and the defense
lawyers of
spota and McPartland.

in her 4th paragraph of her memorandum & order she said burke discovered pornograpy was missing from his gym bag. wow - newsday and all the reports stayed away from the *advertiser censored*, and in the final decision the Feds (as Azrack is a Fed) confirmed *advertiser censored*.

I know of an Oscar winning producer director and screenwriter (but it's 2 people)
who have a movie in the works on Shannan Gilbert and her kidnapping
and the cover-up by her legal team.

I think DS was an opportunist, and most definitely an addict, so his disgust for sex workers, explains to me why he would have no problem robbing their clients. After all, if he is disgusted by the workers, that disgust carries over to the Johns as well. I do recall him making some statements about how he can't understand how guys pay for sex. I'll have to track that statement down.

I feel this is the disappearance that has a loose end that wasn't tied up. I've always had a feeling that a mistake was made with Amber and this mistake has been a source of anxiety for the killer all these years.

Don’t know if they will use any of it. I believe they did a lot of filming of a lot of people. Whater I think I think it will be good

It's funny you should say that because I think that about Melissa. I think he made some dangerous, probably drunken , mistakes with Melissa and her phone, and that's why he convinced Amber and Megan to leave their phones behind. But I guess the same could be true of Shannan (if she was actually a victim of LISK). Maybe the fact that she was able to make that 911 call spooked him enough to go to great lengths to convince Amber and Megan not to bring their phones.

But anyway...what do you think was the mistake he made with Amber ? Or is it just a gut feeling ?

Well, for one, the courting period took place while Amber was in the presence of a potential witness (DS), so while it didn't lead to an identification on the killer, it gave an individual insight into how he operates. As far as we know, there were no people alongside Maureen, Melissa or Megan who all must've had similar negotiations with their killer.

Not only does it give insight into how he operated, but it also places him in West Babylon near America Avenue. We have more information on the exact pickup location and while not precise, the fact that Amber walked around the corner from their residence means he was right in the vicinity. That is more than we know with Maureen and Melissa for certain, whose last locations are topics of speculation and debate. Megan Waterman is another story and It's fair to say he was close enough, but far enough away from the Holiday Inn in Happauge to avoid being seen or picked up on surveillance.

Lastly, the chronology of the victims makes me wonder. While calculated, these crimes are driven by compulsion. One can say the killer is addicted to this, with addiction, often the addict will negotiate with themselves in order to get their fix. At the beginning of the addiction, they may hold themselves to certain standards but as the desire to indulge becomes stronger and to these people, irresistible, their own standards and protocols become more flexible. Think of Amber herself, if not for her addiction to opiates, she most likely would have behaved in a different manner, exercising more caution and prudence and this is not a knock on her , it's a statement that time and time again has proven to be true about the human condition of addiction.

I'm no different, you're no different. I'm sure all of us have struggled with regulating a certain behavior at points in our lives and many of us have known people who are addicts. While LISK is a sociopath and different from your standard addict, it doesn't make him immune or less prone to making poor decisions while itching for his fix. After all, sociopathy is characterized as a lack of empathy for others. While others emotions are meaningless to them, their own emotions are not. I feel after killing Megan Waterman in June, LISK may have been itching for another fix, and may have, very well, failed in between June and September.

That's my feeling as to why a mistake may have been made. Now, I wonder if Detectives spoke to neighbors to see if they recall seeing Amber get in a vehicle in that neighborhood. I wonder if cameras at nearby intersections or commercial businesses were checked. One thing is for certain, this would've been a dicier pickup location today as now nearly every homeowner has a ring doorbell camera, cctv or some kind of surveillance. This was not commonplace 10 years ago, you go into Costco now and there are multiple pallets of products, entire aisles full of this technology for homeowners at an affordable price.

Well, I've officially gone down a rabbit hole, which a hungry eagle does every now and then.

Amber IMO seems a very different case than the other 3 to me.... being much more of a drug addict than the other 3, who seemed mostly to do the job for money rather than drugs primarily as Amber did.... I agree with Mountain Kat about DS....
