According to german tv- broadcast "Aktenzeichen XY" yesterday, german newsaper "Focus" claims, that the prosecuters recieved 16 new hints about the mysterious number, CB has called in the area of OC, the day MM vanished.

Newspaper said:

"Aktuell geht es darum, den Besitzer einer verdächtigen Handynummer aufzuspüren. 16 Hinweise gingen dazu im Laufe des Abends ein."

In translation:

"The current issue is to track down a suspicious cell phone number. 16 Reference is part of this during the evening."

According to an quoted prosecuter, at least one reference shall be "very promising"!

They received almost 1000 tips in Germany

The phone number is a prepaid Portuguese mobile that CB called. Tracking it down is considered a very important part of the investigation.

I wonder if they have a record of multiple calls between the two numbers?

now theyre talking about hazels rape, showing her hotel and showing a receipt from a casino in Praia da Roche with brückners name on it (but not on that date so i don't know the relevance).. also comparing hazels police file with another victims file with a different name on it... looks like another similar rape they believe could be him too?? does anyone speak Portuguese by any chance? i really wanna know what they are saying.

I’d like to apologise in advance for what I’m about to post  but I came across this on social media today. Instantly made me think of CB.

I hope German LE had the good sense to dig deeper than the dog and USBs/hard drives found :( Imagine if this whole time we thought the dog was hiding the USBs, when really, the dog and USBs were actually hiding something else...

Oh my! Where is this photo taken from?

i was just catching up on this doc - i think @MENDEL uploaded it a few pages back, there are pictures of the 72 year old rape victim on it  face pics and other pictures of her beaten body. her arms all bruised etc. i'm shocked they've showed that, its the first time i've seen a picture of her anywhere.

That is really bad, that poor woman should never have her privacy invaded like that. Didnt she suffer enough?:(

Argh, that Portuguese TV report names the 2005 victim, shows her face, and shows images of her assault.

HB waived anonymity, the victim in 2005 doesn’t seem to have done so. It’s a massive invasion of privacy. They really should have taken more care to keep her identity anonymous.

edit. Oh and the Portuguese LE is leaking files to local media, just like they did in 07-08 ... hmmm

When searching for Inga Gehricke, who disappeared on May 2, 2015, the investigators found four years ago in an old box factory in Neuwegersleben near Magdeburg that a motorhome was bought by B. at a foreclosure, according to the report. (This was from clicking on the ticker tape in the link quoted and using google translate. If anyone can go back to the original language/programme, I would really like to doublecheck if it were the motor or the Winnebago that was bought at the foreclosure. The translation reads to me that it was the Winnebago).

It’s awful. I don’t think any of us should publicly repeat the victim’s name here. Not unless someone can confirm 100% that she has waived anonymity — which I’m pretty sure she hasn’t!
yeah i had included her name at first because i thought it was another potential rape case that might be linked to him, then i realized and deleted it! poor woman. they should not be releasing her name, showing her face, police pictures of her body OR crime scene pics from inside her bedroom. i thought the UK media was bad! even they've got a little more respect eh? o_O

Seems to me, as if portugese press and police still have a very special way to treat such things.

Ashes of cigarettes in dna-probes, names of poor witnesses in the media. Very special way of doing important work! *rolleyes*

IMO HCW was very polite, to call it just "cumbersome".

Yes, I noticed you removed it. Well done.

It’s actually illegal to name a victim of sexual assault without permission in some countries. I’m not sure if that’s true in Portugal or the UK? I hope the British tabloids don’t repeat it. :(

Not the same location (airport is outside town) but this photo does show typical construction cranes used in Malaga in May 2007, so perhaps of interest?

Taken from:
Malaga Airport (Málaga) | Structurae
[edited to re-insert thumbnails, lost during switch to new thread]

I don’t think they are even cranes.
I think they are passenger boarding tunnels for cruise ships & ferries.
I was reading this yesterday.
this site gives dates when they were installed so may help with dating the camper pic

Port of Málaga - ADELTE

(snip) The VW appears to be parked about 1km away from the ferry terminal. (snip)

Yes , about a kilometer away (across the harbor) sounds about right

While I am here I will add a couple of pictures and my thoughts

My 3rd spain dock pic circled in red is the "unique building" from more than a km away , and you can see almost the whole building , but notice it is the wrong angle because the CB van pic shows the hills behind it

My 2nd spain dock pic shows a double mast type structure circled on the left .... it does not show up in other versions .... looks like ship masts .... I show it to point out what we see in the CB van pic could be something on a ship which is no longer there .... notice I also circled some windows on ship which look a lot like a ship in ....

My 1st spain doc pic of CB van , the circled item most likely a ship that hides much of the "unique building" .... I also think those two white pillar things may be part of the ship .

Just a guess.

Also keeps me nervous, that - according to german tabloid "BILD" - a former investigator in the case, who was also head of the missing children unit, has now been sentenced to jail as the head of an operating group of burglars!

IMO it's no big surprise, if investigations were a little bit "cumbersome".

Quite a lot of information to be seen and heard in that documentary, wish I could speak and read Portuguese.

Few things I did pick up (via Google translate) that might come in handy with the timeline -

15/01/04 - Disobedience crime (for not putting the Jag on Portuguese plates)

08/04/06 - sent to prison for Diesel theft.

Jaguar registration plate - M GE 2034

08/01/04 - place of work stated as "Taberna de Lagos" as a barman.

ETA: Jag plate appears to be a Munich registration

I'm actually answering to your post #955 on the last page of thread #8 (closed);
The VW appears to be parked about 1km away from the ferry terminal.

So it was not parked to board a ferry (as I pointed out earlier).
BBM. out of interest, what leads you to conclude this?

is that registration from a recent photo of the jag? M = Munich, which would fit with previous information.
