Found Deceased TX - Sgt. Elder Fernandes, 23, Fort Hood, 17 August 2020

Missing Fort Hood soldier reported abusive sexual contact before disappearance
A soldier missing from a central Texas Army post claimed he was the victim of abuse before he disappeared earlier this week.

Sgt. Elder Fernandes' report was confirmed by officials at Fort Hood.

"We can confirm that there is an open investigation of abusive sexual contact involving Sgt. Fernandes," Fort Hood LTC Chris Brautigam said in a statement. "The chain of command takes all allegations of sexual harassment and assault seriously."

"Family members said Fernandes’ staff sergeant dropped him off Monday afternoon at his home in the 2700 block of Woodlands Drive in Killeen, police said."

Do we know who this sergeant is?
Was it a ride from the hospital to EF's home?

1. I haven't seen the sergeant mentioned in MSM.
2. I believe so, but am not sure.

According to State Representative Liz Miranda, Sgt. Fernandes' car was found with all of his belongings. Why was he getting a ride from his sergeant if he had a car?

Here's what we know about 8 of the soldiers who died this year at Fort Hood - CNN

Just posting this for context.

Besides Guillen, at least 7 soldiers stationed at Fort Hood have died or been found dead since March, including one who took his life after becoming a suspect in Guillen's disappearance.

There have been 23 deaths this year among the post's 36,500 soldiers, Fort Hood officials told CNN in a statement. According to officials, the deaths include seven off-duty accidents; seven suicides; one combat-related death; four homicides, one of which was on the base; two of natural causes; one that was undetermined pending an autopsy; and one drowning.

Exactly! And his car was found on post. Was EF hurt and he couldn't drive? Or was it a ride off post to his home?

Army Says Missing Fort Hood Soldier Elder Fernandes Was Victim In Sexual Abuse Investigation
Short segment w/ his mama at this link.

This link says at HIS home but yeah, there is differing info out there.

From your link: "“I feel like since I landed here (Fort Hood) Wednesday, they have enough time to do more and give me some answers now,” his mother added, talking about her frustrations with the investigation." Déjà Vu...

“At this time we do not suspect foul play in the disappearance of Sgt. Fernandes,” the 1st Cavalry Division said in a Twitter post on Friday."

They also didn't suspect foul play in the disappearance of VG, it took them a month to realize foul play was involved. And a month later the main suspect, ADR, fled the base and shot himself to death. I hope they have learned something from VG's case.

Fort Hood: Foul play not suspected in Fernandes disappearance

Foul play is not suspected in the disappearance of Sgt. Elder Fernandes, Fort Hood said Saturday evening.

"Our priority remains getting Sgt. Fernandes back with the people that care about him," said Justin Redfern, commander of the 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. "We are concerned for his well-being and want him to continue the care he was receiving before he went missing. Our unit and the Army have the resources to help him."

Fort Hood officials said in a news release Saturday evening that at this time, they do not believe that his disappearance is connected to any other ongoing case at Fort Hood.

Apparently a ride from the hospital to home. Sounds like he did not drive himself to hospital.

Fernandez, 23, is a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist assigned to Fort Hood’s 1st Cavalry Division, officials said.

Devastating. This is a brilliant, brilliant young man whose training is difficult and critical to national security. To think he was a victim of sexual abuse at Fort Hood is unconscionable. Furious for his family and loved ones tonight.

I am so sad for him. Being close with some male victims of SA myself, there is a special kind of shame that comes with being a male victim (not worse than being a female victim, just different) because of toxic masculinity and social expectations etc.

Yes Kelsie. Yes. All of this is so true. Just so true. And uber-masculine culture mocks or gaslights men for not accepting sexual abuse. I think of churches I knew where young boys were groomed and sexually assaulted by pastors--and how those young boys are still haunted by it, still torn to pieces and unable to discuss it even as they are fathers and trying to raise their own sons. It is crippling. It is heartbreaking. I can feel my fists clench up just remembering those pastors' faces.
