Sandra Lowe from Anaheim, CA who went missing in January 1987.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

- Would SL have been already considered for this Jane Doe since she's in NamUs? They have her dental records and fingerprints but no DNA. Has she already been ruled -out and I missed it reading through the list?
-If not, should we discuss the possibility? Or too many differences?

I put their photos together. They are sort of similar. The face shape seems a bit off but that could be the angle of face too.

That's possible. She is from Athens, GA. That is 4 hours due south of Green County Rest Stop. I can't think of a reason why she would go north if her intent was just to run to the store. Her photos were just uploaded a year ago. I wonder if family was contacted because she's being compared to UIDs.

I emailed the Detective listed on Brenda's case. I put a read receipt on it too - it hasn't been read yet.. LOL

You did well sending the email. Hair color / height / weight / photo aren't obvious matches, though, IMO. But it's not obvious it couldn't be her, either. I wonder why they don't have an eye color for BE.

Danged if Brenda Edmondson doesn't look good in facial characteristics. Problem is the reconstruction we have, I don't put a lot of stock in from the eyes up.

I just started reading this thread. It isn't really clear if the deceased had an re cognized face or not. I presume the shotgun blast was catastrophic to the facial area which is why LE has provided an artist's impression. However, if that's the case, why would it say the face is recognizable and how did they manage to ascertain finer details of her dentistry?

All the prior injuries: the clavicle, radius, tibia and fibula the deceased sustained suggest a head-on motor vehicle accident from bracing on impact. You'd think any missing person's characteristics would list these injuries in the description. It's possible the injuries could be from some kind of fall, as well. A man working on my neighbour's roof fell and broke both ankles and his wrist.

It really does bite. My experience isn't really they have a problem with Websleuths, they're just territorial. I fear these cases, especially the older ones just don't take precedent. They don't want to waste man hours on it. In my situation here in East Tennessee, there is a huge territorial wall built between Knoxville City and Knox County police. This problem dates back to the early 1900's race riot in downtown Knoxville. Might be a good book some day.

The blast removed everything from eyes up. That's why I don't put much stock in reconstructions. Plus this one was the first ever done by the artist. They do have the entire skull pieced back together. The fact that they don't do a clay reconstruction tells me the case is not receiving a lot of effort. I have political officials trying to vouch for me to get a sit down audience with them. So far nothing. Still hoping. Would love to have a DNA sample, I'd pay for all new testing.

No, if you're referring to my comment about her being a victim, I mean of the two men she was with, not the homeowner.

Although I believe shooting someone who's on your porch screaming or yelling shouldn't be the first reaction someone has, even in the middle of the night. But anyway I think it may be against TOS here to discuss gun control / usage topics?

If you wonder whether she was actually trying to rob the house, there's no evidence of that as far as I know?

There are cases where shooting through a closed door have been prosecuted. It is up to the Attorney General. Never thought much of Randy Nichols. He was an honest man but some of his decisions left me bewildered at the time. He was the Attorney General. I will say that the police theory they were staging this to gain entry to the house is crap. "He has a knife!" doesn't make any sane person open a door. I believe if this case was today it would be handled completely different.
