Watched Dateline from On Demand. They did a good job. Was something to see Mark's O'scared ($h#tless) winning performance, particularly AFTER the detective left the room. Mark may be a stand out in Talent Night on Death Row. He's now living reality and it's no reality show... it 's real life now Marko.
 
Wednesday, April 8th:
*Status Conference Hearing by phone (re appeal) (@ 8:30am ET) – FL – Dr. Teresa Ann Grace Sievers (46) (June 29, 2015, Bonita Springs) – for *Mark D. Sievers (48/now 51) arrested & charged (2/26/16) & indicted (5/4/16) with 1st degree premeditated murder & conspiracy to commit 1st degree premeditated murder. Plead not guilty. No bond. DA will seek DP.
Trial began on 11/12/19 with jury selection, opening statements started on 11/20. Trial expected to last 5 weeks. Jury: 9 women & 3 men, with 2 alternates (1 is a man). Trial ended on 12/4/19 with closing arguments & jury started deliberations. Deliberations took about 4 hours 10 minutes – GUILTY of 1st degree premeditated murder & conspiracy to commit 1st degree premeditated murder.
12/10/19: Jury took less than 3 hours to reach a verdict in the penalty phase – recommended & given death penalty sentence.

2/14/20: Defense files another Notice of Appeal sent to Supreme Court; 2/17/20: Acknowledgment of New Case-Appeal Filed Supreme Court; Transcripts due within 80 days; Record to be completed within 20 days after transcript.
2/18/20: Order Filed: Defendant Declared Indigent for Appeal & Appointing Counsel; Notice to withdraw from counsel by Mummert.
3/4/20 Update: Supreme Court ordered that all transcripts and trial proceedings be unsealed to submit to them for Mark's appeal. April 8th is a status conference hearing re this matter. Sievers will NOT be transferred to the court hearing.
*Jimmy Ray Rodgers (28) – Trial 10/23/19: Jury found Rodgers guilty of second degree murder, not guilty of conspiracy, guilty of trespassing. Motion for new trial-denied. 12/12/19: Sentenced to life without parole. 1/6/20: Filed an appeal on sentencing.
*Curtis Wayne Wright, Jr. (41) - Took plea deal (2/26/16) plead guilty to 2nd degree murder; serving 25 years, waives all rights to appeal. Sentenced 2/10/20 Update: Victim impact statement: Mary Ann Groves (Teresa's mother). Wright is adjudicated guilty and sentenced to a 25-year prison term minus the time he already served. Wright is told to have no contact with the surviving family members of Teresa Sievers by the judge.

i'm lost... this is for Scott Peterson, in San Fran......... not Mark Sievers. Did i get lost or miss something?
 
Can some one please explain all the above court proceedings? I am confused.

I get a new appointed lawyer that the citizens of Florida re paying for since MM left felon MS. But what else is all the jargon about?

Just keep the felon in prison.
 
Gosh I watched something on this last night.
It’s soooo disgusting how he cries when TS mom is doing her victim statement about how this beautiful soul was TAKEN from her.
Mark’s forced sobs with faux trembling lips, his head nodding “no”.
What an act. He doesn’t get it. Even the hired murderer has remorse. Mark is just rotten evil IMO.

Mark still has legal rights just like the other 's in prison or jail . Don't worry, his game is finished. JMO

Narcissists and the gaslighting they do prevents them to never get it into reality. He is a lost cause!

I think what it is--it's that when someone gets the death penalty, their lawyer has to pretend they care about the defendant and file an appeal, even if they realize their client is a vile, demonic murderer. I don't know if this is an automatic procedure in the state of Florida, or nationwide in the USA. But, it is certainly a waste of time and money, and space.

The minute these horrific creatures (psychopathic or otherwise), get convicted they should be immediately kicked out the door, right into an incinerator. My Opinion Only.
 
This man is despicable. He had his wife beaten to death while he "hid" at her parents home with her children...using her own parents and children as his alibi.
You can't really get much lower than that.
Oh wait, you can cry like a sniveling in court for your own sorry soul.

Tomorrow, Sun. Oct.18th, 2020, on the Court TV channel, at 8pm EST, the series JUDGMENT WITH ASHLEIGH BANFIELD will showcase " Florida v. Sievers".

I think this 43 minute program is worth watching for those who followed this vile murder to it's conclusion. Below @Arachne 1's comment you can find my comment which has a link to an online google web cache of the program. Google caches don't last indefinitely, but it's working now.

Your all right. He deserves to get a needle or spark parade. No justification for this. None. Divorce is hard yet simple when folks understand civility and what it means especially for children. Instead, the 3 stooges decided to beat her to death. But,
I'm mixed. I'd love to watch him take his last breath yesterday. Yet respect her daughter's for not wanting it. I believe, no convinced they need him alive not 4 any relationship but one day they will want answers, from him. From his mouth, not a relative's, reporter or court records. He needs to be around just for that. I enjoy the thought of him in a 6x10 cage till he dies. Having this continually playing in your head. Thinking what if? forever. Gotta suck. But for them, I'll always maintain they will need that to heal and move on. Jmo
Anyone know if a books coming? Shows are ok but books usually have deep background on how these clowns came to be. Idk, I feel strongly theres more to this. What, pffft. I just cant finger it but man ......

Sadly, no one is ever going to get any real answer from him. it's all about him and he will say whatever he needs at any given moment for his own purposes. He cares about no one but himself.
