Hey guys. I’m new here. Newly registered, anyway. I’ve been lurking on and off for the last several months. I haven’t really taken part on any discussion forums in several years, with the exception of roleplay resource sites.
A brief introduction to me: I’m a twenty-nine year old woman that lives out in the middle of nowhere. At four years old, I was kicked out of pre-school and sent to stay with my grandmother during the day. During this time, she’d watch true crime documentaries and Unsolved Mysteries. I didn’t really understand then what I was watching, but over the next four years my grandmother helped fuel my interest in true crime. After she passed, I began to lean on her favorite television channels. The rest is history.
I am disabled, so I have a fair amount of free time in which I can spend poking around. Many cases have caught my interest over the years, particularly those that have gone cold. I hope that as I read, research, and interact here that I can learn more about websleuthing.
Some of the local cases that have caught my attention over the years include Kacie Woody, Nona Dirksmeyer, and Ronald Gene Simmons. These cases defined much of my childhood, with the 1987 killing spree in Russellville, Arkansas happening shortly (three years) before my birth. Both Nona Dirksmeyer and Kacie Woody were around my age, with the latter case used as a tool to warn students about the dangers of online interactions.
I am generally a fairly laid back person. I’m content to spend time snuggling my cats while watching documentaries or playing video games with my fiancé. I look forward to exploring the site more in depth as a member, rather than a lurker.
