I don’t know if it’s true either, it’s just what they said.
I would happily be wrong about everything in this case if we could just get an arrest and a trial.

We'll probably be wrong about a lot of things. And maybe it will be clear why he is not yet apprehended. There must be a logical reason, something very obvious, that we overlook and oversee, because we don't know enough.

oh he definitely knew they were alone. I also think there's a good chance the phone was lost and he could not find it.

or he didn't give a crap about the phone because he is arrogant and it never occurs to him that he was snagged on film...also he doesn't have the code to get into the phone.

I don't think he was stupid enough to leave prints on the phone.

I don't think the phone indicates he is not techie. there's only so much you can do with a phone if you don't have a pw.

My memory is that Libby’s shoe was found across the creek from where the bodies were found, near the creek, stuck in mud and leaves. That seemed to be accepted until someone somewhere mentioned it being found on the driveway. My thought at the time was someone was skewing the information to try and support their theory that the girls were taken somewhere and brought back...”because someone should have seen that shoe the day before...”.
For what it’s worth, the HLN special last night showed the shoe mired in mud and grass and leaves, not on a driveway.
I believe Kelsie said in a live interview that she and a group of friends were on the road that goes under the bridge. She said they other group was searching the area below them. The fact that she says she yelled down to them backs that up.

Thanks for that info about the shoe. I found it here in the first short 2 minute clip. It also shows a blue phone case beside a tree. It shows both shoes and one is up against what appears to be a large, partly- decayed railroad tie and it looks like there is a steep drop-off right on the opposite side of the tie. I hope someone else checks out this clip and shares their thoughts.

I have always thought of BG as a total geek..I still think he had a camera rig, I think the white things are the cables to the camera. I think of him as a 2 way radio geek, police scanner stuff and recording and videotaping his exploits.

this is mOO...but I think he recorded his crimes...he also looks like the type that would impersonate different characters...

wonder if he ever requested a map? mOO

Now there’s a thought! A map. I caught that comment as well. I wonder if LE checked into that?

I haven't seen episode 1 of HLN's story on the case. But I just listened to episode 10 of the podcast, which is new. What I find interesting is that the sheriff seems to indicate that don't know how the killer left the area. All they have is speculation. I've often wondered if the killer was seen by a witness on rt. 300 walking away from the location of the cemetery, but now I believe that is not likely the case. So could all of the witness sightings be of someone on the trail prior to the killings or in a parking area arriving/leaving the area?

But does it fly in court? How is the legal side of it?

Can you go to court with the cup you pulled out of a thrash bin?
Discarded DNA is what it's called. It's totally legal to collect, and I think they can use it in court; but on true crime shows they usually use it for a warrant to arrest and then collect suspect's DNA again formally at police station and that's the sample they use for court.

This was a good video to watch! Ms. Cailean hadn't had alot of familiarity with the case before the show, but as a criminologist watched snippets of the press conferences and gave great input just 'off the cuff', several points which I and I think many others following the case hadn't thought of. One in particular for example, she said mention of 'The Shack' by LE was NOT just a spur of the moment add-in by (sorry forget his name at moment, but I believe the Sheriff) due to his religious leanings, but that it was a very deliberate message. (also that he did stick to a script, even with his mention of seeing 'The Shack' as he often looked down at his written notes) Interesting perspective in general that she came from as a pro). Too involved to explain here and do her words justice, lol. I tended to fast forward to the middle and end of video as it was lengthy, for the more informing bits! ;) One thing of note, she does think LE was zeroing in on one suspect in particular, and that they weren't being dramatic when they said he was very likely in the conference room.

There was considerable discussion about the shack on here a few years ago after the press conference by the Sheriff. If I recall correctly, at that time, most posters agreed that it was a deliberate message. I didn’t really glean anything new from the video as most of Cailean’s input to the case has been hashed and rehashed in previous threads over the years by posters here. :)

In the shack, at the ending forensic specialists were able to obtain enough evidence from the cave to arrest the killer. Additionally, they were able to find the bodies of the other girls he had killed.

so, now I am thinking this super arrogant individual has literally given them something that
leads them to believe he has access to pressers, he's in an out of their orbit, he has access somehow and can be in the community and is one of a group.

then it's really a game isn't it? it's not just what he did, it's where and how.

he has communicated something.

so could it be he is one of upstanding citizen variety, and not just the shut-in grub worm I
have pictured him as.

hmmm...could be huh. mOO

Yes, I do recall us discussing it here, I had forgotten whether or not most felt The Shack mention was deliberate or not lol. Either way, Cailean was interesting to listen to and no doubt would have alot more insight if she was involved in the case. She did think releasing more information wouldn't be a bad thing!

We are stuck in time looking for a monster'

By Mike and Becky Patty

Delphi, Indiana, February 2021

Abby and Libby were two friends going out to enjoy a nice day on the trails only to never come home again. This was four years ago and the predator that did this has never been caught.

We were asked if we could write a letter to the public for help and what would we say. Well, this is it.

We're asking the public to give us a minute. When asked to do something Libby would always say "give me a minute." Now we're asking you for that minute.

When you are out doing your normal daily life activities, sitting in a restaurant, standing in line at a store, or sitting in the bleachers at an event. Strike up a conversation with whomever is close to you. Bring up the story of Abby and Libby, it may be someone who has never heard about our case, this will help raise awareness. Share the flyer on your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram account or whatever social media platform you use. I know it is asking a lot, but keep the sketch, tip line, and flyer in your phone for quick reference. If you know someone that may have been in or lived in Indiana four years ago -- ask them to think back. Do they know anyone that started acting different around that time? Someone knows this person, maybe you will reach the person that can identify him.

The investigative team stated they only need one piece of the puzzle, maybe you or someone you meet unknowingly has that piece. Possibly, by bringing up our case will spark something within someone. I know four years is a long time, but we must have hope that someone has the key to unlock this puzzle.

Realizing life goes on, life is busy, people forget. Please understand, at one time that was us also. But not now, we are stuck in time looking for a monster that murdered two young girls. We are only asking for one minute out of your day. If it was your child or loved one, would you think that is too much to ask?

He killed once and could do it again. We realize there are many unsolved murders out there, so maybe in taking that minute you could help solve this or another case or prevent another horrible tragedy, so another family doesn't live this nightmare in which there is no waking up from. Isn't that worth a minute out of your day?

We need and appreciate everyone's help in bringing this to resolution.

If you have information about the case, please contact the FBI:
