It brings us back to the same important question. Was she in the house at that time or was she at another location.
Had she left the house earlier in the day for another location.
Had she left the house and was in one of the vehicles that passed the bus travelling in the opposite direction..
A silver car similar to the one seen at the Uni and Melrosegate PO is caught on the bus cam crossing the junction at costcutters as the bus approaches the traffic lights was she in that vehicle?

I think the 9:00pm time frame has significance for the authorities. It was around the time of Claudias last communication. This had added meaning; due to the nature of the texts Claudia was sending that night . It could be considered that at certain times that Claudia was not in company because Claudia was instigating conversations via text. Additionally there is the significance of the JK text and Claudia not replying to the Cyprus text in the morning. LuLu also mentioned some theories

Didn't Claudia's Mum make some suggestions where Claudia was ? I am sure I read somewhere that Claudia's Mum actually added that she thought Claudia was in her bedroom preparing for bed?

The Police have also asked for Information about a White Vauxhall Astra van which was in the area at approx 9pm

White Vauxhall Astra

It was there for at least 30 minutes from 9.01pm on Wednesday 18 March 2009. This was confirmed by CCTV footage on a passing bus.

Det Supt Malyn said: “The driver of the white Vauxhall Astra van may have vital information that could assist our enquiries and is urged to come forward. If you know who it is please get in touch straight away.”

Update 17 April: A good response from the public with some similar vehicles eliminated from the inquiry and some names of people passed onto the investigation team. At this stage, enquires remain ongoing to identify the white Astra van and its owner.

I don’t think they’re on the back of the trailer bit, like another Post I considered trick of the light but there appears to be two faces there with features. Spooky trick of the light if that’s what it is ...I recall reading that the the car left in the direction of malton road. I haven’t a clue where that is nor how it could connect to any of the POI in this case . This morning I listened to a news piece in which Claudias Mam said she didn’t take her phone. And we know the phone was close to her home after the time frame of her vanishing until 12.10pm the next day. So was it left in her house as she went to answer the door perhaps, leaving her tooth brush on the side as she came to get the door as she was getting ready for bed and hence why the 9.12pm message went unanswered which was odd for her also. .. maybe her usual slippers were on her feet which is why the odd slippers her mam noticed as not the ones she would wear were left in a staged scene to continue the ‘she left for work’ narrative and distance any possible crime away from her home and associates ... just my ticking brain ...

Hi LuLu; I think the gallant work of ''The Major'' has some relevance here. I get the impression that this text was sent from Claudia's phone around 9pm?

As we know It apparent went as follows:

“Bloody hell, I’ve got to do 12 days on the trot, early mornings too. No fun for me”

  • The context of the text was false
  • Who actually sent the text?
  • Does anyone know what time the text was sent?
  • Were perpetrators worried that JK would notice Claudia missing fairly early?; and therefore ordered Claudia to send the text while watching and warning her not to 'try anything'?
  • Did Claudia plead with the perpetrators in a final attempt to get out of the situation, by bluffing that JK was coming round to see her and would notice Claudia had gone? So the perpetrators made her send that text to 'bamboozle' JK
  • Whether Claudia was at home or somewhere else on a stay over; was it a call for help. Did Claudia send it, hoping Jen King would come round to see her. Thus; JK would have seen what was going on and help her. Would this suggest Claudia was at home?

@MEKON Claudia as far as we know had no enemies. she was a fairly ordinary 35 year old single woman, who had a large circle of friends, she liked going into bars socialising - which was the norm in 2009 we all did it. Claudia was well liked, even BH who should if anyone have reservations showed concern for Claudias family. I think because the police case seems to revolve around the "Nags Four" Sleuths conjure up scenarios involving kidnap and murder. It is unlikely. this is more likely a 1 man relationship which has somehow escalated to murder.

Didn't @moonsafari mention that the astra van belonged to the partner of the woman who lived next to the costcutters or the travel agents?

I noticed that the owners of 44 Heworth Road sold their property recently (moved there in 2003) The owners of 48 moved there in 1997 and the owners of 50 moved there in 2013

She was seeing multiple men from said pub according to George - two went straight to the station on the Friday of her being reported as missing. Can see why police were therefore very interested in her life and friends here. They’ll also have records of texts etc i’m sure as well which could suggest who she was or wasn’t seeing at this time. Despite being well liked she’d had grief odd women in the pub (only acknowledged by her father after facts began to emerge so why did he keep this quiet and why did her Mates maintain an everyone loved her stance when clearly this wasn’t true and she wasn’t well liked by some perhaps.. also I refer to a bet Fred post of someone close to the nags who drank there etc seemed to know those involved. He makes reference to Claudia being encouraged to seek compensation for something from one of her suitors... again linked to the nags. It’s natural to see why suspicion falls upon here given she spent most of her time in and around here or the people here.

I do not see anything out of the ordinary, as well liked as we all feel we are, if we suddenly disappeared presumed murdered would our stories play out any different? all sleuths have their own theories. i find it hard not to try and implicate the nags four in some way, I feel its likely one of the two closely related did the deed and called on the others to help cover his tracks - why would they help him and why does no one dare speak out? is the question

I've read the Betfair posts, they suggest that the father knew about Claudias affairs and didn't discourage it.

I guess one person is responsible for the deed.
Maybe there's a link between the betting shop near the Acomb pub and the betting shop opposite the NG

Her bf had problems at customs and was refused entry onto the plane to the America coz he had been arrested at some point in time. I can't remember the year.

I remember the boyfriend being refused boarding. Are you sure it was America? do you have any more details what year, and time of year and a big ask where in America was it Las Vegas?
