I get the sense from other articles, including the one below, that foul play is not suspected. I agree with @Yemelyan that this might have been tragically self-induced or accidental. JMO

Family remembers teen found dead on Avoca Trail Sunday

I'm trying to be as short and sensitive as possible, especially since this concerns a child, but I too get that sense. I have found a public post with replies that appear to be a family member's on social media and, reading between the lines of it, this seems unexpected and terribly tragic, but does not appear to be criminal.

She went for the walk Saturday morning, so if homicide was suspected I think police would have said something by now since it's been 2.5 days.

From the article: "Michigan State Police Specialist Lt. Liz Rich confirmed the death was being treated as suspicious as of Sunday night, but said there was no suspected threat to the public and an autopsy is needed before further information can be released."

Where have we heard that before?

When LE indicates there is no threat to the public after a suspicious death with a body left outdoors/on public land, I wish they would clarify why they think the public is safe. It must be terrifying to live in the area and hear such a dismissive-sounding phrase with no explanation, especially for people who match the demographic and possibly the habits of the victim, or for those who have family or loved ones in the area who align with those traits.

If I knew a teenage girl in that area (or maybe just a teenager! or anyone who likes to take walks on a trail!), I certainly would want to know why LE thinks she is safe pursuing ordinary outdoor activities when the victim clearly was not.

I agree. Where HAVE we heard that before? In Delphi, with Abby and Libby's case. And they were both murdered.

Delphi Murders: Superintendent Doug Carter Interview / 4 Year Anniversary - CrimeLights

CRIMELIGHTS.COM: In a May 2019 interview with Scott from News8, you said in reference to the video clip of the suspect on the bridge “Somebody knows whose body that is. If you could take the head off of a person you know, you’ll recognize that body.”

Remove the blue jacket, blue jeans and the hat Anna says he's wearing and place BG in a dark Armani suit carrying an attaché case while driving a Jeep.

Dude on the bridge may not look like this every day. Perhaps he's a big shot banker, or a fat cat judge or another local profession where he dresses entirely differently.
.

I hope that the Delphi investigators are at least aware/monitoring this new case as on the surface there seems to be very interesting parallels to Delphi. This story has some pictures showing the trail/bridge area in question. Just wanted to pass it along as it caught my eye as someone who follows Abby & Libby’s case daily.

I'm fine. Missing you, Websight, Imnosherlock, liltexan and others that contributed so much at the beginning of this. I still haven't changed my POI that I had from the beginning but at least the FBI went to him and swabbed him.(but I know he's not in CODIS)

Charles Chaplin's autobiography could contribute to this article, and a lot. But I am surprised how the article never mentions the comedians' crisp, analytical, intellect.

I remember the funniest jokes - the Irish, or the Jewish ones - produced by the people living in abject poverty, and using humor, one of two best defense mechanisms, to adjust to the environment. And in general, the funniest jokes are generated in the worst times, it seems.

I'm not thinking about any particular person. I don't know a lot about serial killers and personality traits. I should read some of the books that have been recommended here, or watch some documentaries. I just want to understand more about any traits that can or cannot go along with someone who can commit these extremely violent crimes. I know very hilariously ironic senses of humor can go along with people who have had a hard life. But somehow I cannot see a serial killer as being someone who can crack people up laughing. Just curious, I guess.
I read that the inmate who murdered Jeffrey Dahmer said he did so because he despised Dahmer's disturbing sense of humor.

Help request - I can't find a link to the list of named and initialed persons for this case. Does anyone have it handy so it can be shared again? (And possibly it can then be added to the links in the first post of all subsequent threads?) TIA.

Can you remind me in which interview he said this? I want to go back and refresh my memory on this point.

Ives spoke with Dr. Oz. Interview of Ives begins at 2:45 and at about 4:25 is when he talks about this specific aspect of the crime scene ("3 or 4 physical characteristics you would absolutely take a photograph of"):
