I was thinking about the claim he was arrested after returning home from work that has confused a lot of us with what was released from the Magistrates Court, that he had not worked the day he was arrested.

Perhaps it was from a EC or even a neighbour, and to the best of their knowledge it was true as that is what WC had told them to explain why he was out of the house in the day. JMO obviously.

This is quite shocking! I know some of us suspected there may be more victims but the fact they have openly stated it’s related to her investigation and they have her remains, does that mean they have found someone else?

Edit to add: maybe her phone?

I think it's very likely to be her phone and maybe her clothes. When I read they needed dental records to identify her, I assumed her clothes were not with her.

In my opinion, it could be another body if he has started talking or if any of the evidence found in his home has led the police there with any particular suspicions. But my first instinct when I read about Sandwich was phone and clothes.

River and recycling bin cordoned off in Sarah Everard search

I'm told police raced down and were seen arriving on blue lights and have not been letting anyone through.

"One officer is guarding the entrance from the town.

"There's at least 14 officers here and that's just on the public side of the cordon.

"There's a small separate cordon taping off a large recycling bin next to the Guildhall car park."

I wonder if he’s tried to discard evidence. Although odd to do it so close to home when he’s been driving significantly further away

My guess would be possessions too. It may seem odd but he’d be in panic mode imo and probably trying to cover whatever he can, however he can. I can’t imagine he’d be thinking straight at that point.

Two points made by other posters, which I think may be particularly noteworthy;

1) The assailant may have sprayed a substance into the face of the victim & when vulnerable bundled her into the car (....it could look to a passing motorist as if he was helping her into the car)

Anything sprayed in the eyes would incapacitate her ( as would a sharp blow to the nose or a poke in the eye)

2) The police will have ( quite quickly I imagine) located the car used in the abduction & forensically examined it.

If they have found blood evidence, they can say with confidence that Sarah was abducted by force ( not necessarily based on camera footage)

They have no reason to release this information to the public.

What type of physical combat training would a police officer with WCs role and experience have?

This sounds like it could be a clothes recycling bin?

I think you've got the wrong Garage. The right one is next to Rope Walk, Sandwich. Apologies I don't know how to attach a screenshot

You’re absolutely right! Thanks for the correction

When I read they had raced down, I immediately wondered if somebody had seen something in the river.
I’m not sure if that is a fast moving river, or not.
Whilst I imagine they would arrive hastily for phone or clothes, the fact they were waiting on ‘specialist teams’ made me think recovery of something from the river.

I feel they may find possessions there also. Just my opinion.

LE can't identify a body by the clothes that are there. I speculate that the clothes were nearby which is why Cressida Dick's statement was quite pointed without formal identification. Fingerprints, dental records, DNA that's what's used to identify a body in most instances. They may still be looking for the clothing though if you're right and they weren't with her.

A recycling bin (if something has been found) would suggest it is related to Sarah and not anther case/crime/person because it would presumably be emptied periodically? Talking of which, was WC disposing of things/evidence right up to his arrest if the bin has not been emptied yet? I think I’m most councils bins are emptied weekly but I guess some might be fortnightly or more?

EDIT: disregard this. Wrong garage!

To give some perspective on new developments to none locals .. this is 1.2km away from WC home address

thank you!

Correct, this is the wrong garage (same owner). The one where the search is ongoing (NOT at the actual garage but northwest of it along Ropewalk between the railway tracks and the canal) is in Sandwich which is around 6 miles from WC’s home and 35 miles from the Ashford crime scene.
