HA! They don't say why she left.....humm
MOO
It has no bearing on the case, but I found it interesting she only spent a year in the service. Without the DD 214 it would be pretty hard to determine the type of discharge. Unless it was a medical discharge, highly doubtful in that short amount of time in the Air Force, then I can speculate her discharge probably wasn't for something positive. (I spent over 32 years in the military). At this point it.is probably piling on as to her character issues.

MOO speculation

I take it then that you can't simply walk out of the Air Force after a year and tell them your done cause you want to get married and have a baby?
She immediately went from Air Force to marriage and then having bouncing baby George IV.

Road not taken...humm

But Leonard Manley held Occam's Razor early on.

I really like the Occam's Razor reference.

"The simplest explanation is usually the right one"

Your post was in regards to LM saying right away that it might be about custody. For him to think this right away means it must have been obvious to the families that a heated custody dispute was going on, as shown in interviews of family members.

What else is the simplest explanation? My guess....

Why run to AK?
To avoid BCI

Why kill all the others?
If they just killed Hanna the others would know it was them and come after them physically and through LE. The family were witnesses. Jake would have been investigated from day one. Instead it took a year to focus on them.

What gun did Jake use?
Jake took a photo of his 22 gun that turns out, through evidence, to be the gun they think was used by him that night.

Why sell the farm?
They found out LE was focusing on locals instead of what they wanted which was Cartel. 2 months after the homicides Angie went from loving her farm and talking about future plans etc...To suddenly selling out and then putting house up for sale.

Where did they get all their money?
Drug running, loans, (lumber for example) arson insurance payments, selling stolen goods, car repair, Jake/George trucking job, selling animals and FW did alot for them in many ways, especially giving them work at FWF and giving them housing on Bethel and Peterson Rd's. Angie inherited her dad's house also.

I'm sure there are other simple explanations for what they did etc...

Pregnant?

It seems there was 1 year and 2 months between Angie leaving the Air Force and her marriage license being taken out and getting pregnant.

I miscalculated the dates, I was thinking she got married and became pregnant 2 months after leaving the Air Force, apparently her leaving the Air Force wasn't about that. There must be another reason. Still, pressure from Billy and FW could have been the reason.

She was at a crossroads. Air Force career vs Wagner crime family. Reminds me of somebody being pressured into marrying a Mob Boss's son. Your marrying the family.

Timeline:

October 15, 1988
- Angie tuns 18.

November 1988 -Angie joins the Air Force.
She attained the rank of Airman E-2 and was an Inventory Management Specialist stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida.

October 15, 1989 - Angie turns 19.

November 1989 - Angie is discharged from Air Force.

January 18, 1991 - Billy Wagner and Angela Carter's marriage license taken out.

October 10, 1991 - George Washington Wagner IV born.

10/15/1991 - Angie turns 21

So his pleading guilty gets the DP off the table for the whole family?
really?

Yes. I'm ok with it. As an Ohio taxpayer, I appreciate the state not having to spend millions more on trials for the other 3.

Jake Wagner pleaded guilty to all 23 counts against him and agreed to testify against the others. There's no risk in giving the others the option of LWOP.

Angela Wagner to return to Pike County court for Rhoden/Gilley murders

This is the last time we saw Angela Wagner. She looks unkept like jail is taking a toll. I keep wondering what happened to her.

She's still listed in Delaware County Jail. I know these Cases are unusually slow but this is really really odd even for a slow case like this, it seems like to me anyway. Next month is a Year since she has been to Court.

Recent renovations at the Delaware County Jail added a new intake counter and a body scanner which detects a variety of items a prisoner may be hiding on their person. The expanded intake area also includes a new room for inmates’ personal effects, additional cells, and a bathroom space for inmates to use during intake.

This is my first comment but I’ve been watching this thread for a few years. I went to school with one of the victims and know of the family just from being from the general area. I will never forget the Friday morning this was announced on the news. I didn’t work that day and was home to see all the coverage. It was shocking to say the least. I never want to forget these families and what they’ve gone through and want very much to see some sort of justice for them.

Jake’s guilty plea, while not the end of this by far, did give me satisfaction. The idea that Jake will never see the outside of a prison is comforting honestly. I’m anxious to see what happens with the others, especially Angela and Billy. IMO MOO Angela and Jake were the ring leaders in this situation. I also believe Billy played a big role bc of Chris SR and because he’s the “man of the family.” IMO MOO I think something was coming to a head for these two families. I’m not clear on what but the fight a week before is relevant IMO.

At any rate, I wanted to say hello. I feel like I have gotten to know some of you already through your posts. You are a smart group! I’m still getting used to WS so please let me know if I break a rule. This is why I’ve hesitated joining before but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.

Your public profile says you are ...

"interested in discussions about the Wagner trials in Piketon trials. I live locally and am interested in justice for the families."

You are welcome here and so glad to have you.

I hope Pike County knows that there are people all over the USA and beyond who have been following this Case. Many of us have been invested in Justice for the Gilley, Rhoden and Manley families for 5 years! .. :)

I and others have said that we feel like we know the families. Like we could drive down UHR and say hi to LM and JM.

Family who are in need of you? Pregnancy? Would that be something that could allow a drop out? Couldn't pass some of her further tests as she went along? I know nothing about the service. I've got folks who served but they're guys, and, I know there's a single son thing that used to be a reason to relieve you from duty. IDK if it still applies, that was in the draft era, but, she was her mother's only child at that time, I think, wasn't she?

Sadkins,
What role do you think George Wagner iv did during the murders???? IMO

Cool Cats,
I don't see anger either. I see a disgusted look. He looks thinner as well.

Under very rare circumstances would someone be released due to family issues. I've never heard of this occurring so I cant say impossible. If it were possible, it would have to be parents and siblings as is the case for emergency leave requests. There are exceptions but very difficult for approval.

I don't recall the exact rules governing pregnancy at the time but there are/were provisions for single parents to serve. I don't believe there is any evidence she was pregnant when discharged.

As far as tests, she was a year into service when discharged. Her advanced school was completed well before then. I imagine her career field tech school didnt last long. 4-6 weeks tops. It would be very unlikely she failed anything and got discharged within a year of signing up. JMO

Possible issues leading to discharge. Not all inclusive.
1. Medical discharge
2. Theft of government property
3. Theft of fellow Airmen property
4. Failure to conform to military standards
6. Drugs--trafficing or usage

This is a small sampling. There are many that can lead to Cout Martial and or administrative discharge

MOO JMO Speculation

Having only been in a year and being at her first duty station, I'd say the event leading to her discharge was significant enough the AF said she didnt warrant further training and released her from service. JMO

Yes I hope the family has some idea how many of us out here really care about justice for them. <modsnip>

JMO, but I still see anger. To me, he looks like he would like to get his hands on Jake the trouble maker.
