On Monday, 18 May at 23:28hrs, a 63 year-old man was arrested in North Acton on suspicion of murder and false imprisonment. He was taken into custody at a north London police station.

The man is believed to be known to Agnes.

Twenty year-old Agnes, also known as ‘Dora — a Hungarian national who has been living in the UK for five years — is believed to have left her home address in the Cricklewood Broadway area on the morning of Sunday, 9 May. She was reported missing on Tuesday, 11 May.

“We are conducting extensive searches in the Park Royal and Holland Park areas today following last night’s arrest, and are continuing to utilise all investigative opportunities to build a clear picture of her movements.

"We are following every lead possible and are appealing for the public to help us in our work. If you may have seen Agnes, or have any information on her whereabouts over the past 10 days, please contact police.

Edit: phone left out my question..
So there's an interesting comment about a vehicle.

Also, for you sleuthers, her name spellt as Ágnes Ákom, and in Hungary it's surname first so Ákom Ágnes. As she is only 20 and been in uk for 5 years, in my opinion she most likely came to the UK with her family. JMO I don't know her personally (you are a child legally until 18 in Hungary)

Thanks. Agnes needs to be found despite the arrest. On the police initial appeal, it said that she is really active on social media, if you or anyone else find anything on her accounts let me know, i would like to view her posts.

I think I found her Facebook but she's got brown hair on cover photo and it's private so I can't be sure.

That was fast work. I only saw the police appeal yesterday and didn't have time to start a thread then. Now we've got a thread (thanks, @StillDiggin!) there's been an arrest already.

I'm curious to know more about the evidence supporting an arrest for murder when Ágnes still hasn't been found, and in a way even more curious about the suspicion of false imprisonment, as logic suggests the police have a location in mind for where that would have taken place, and yet clearly no body's been found there.

Some interesting comments on the Met's FB page, and interesting also that the arrested man appear to have been known to her.

The latest news this evening was that LE are searching in the Park Royal/Holland Park areas, which is a fair distance from her home in Cricklewood.

I think this is her FB:

Ágnes Ákom

It makes it look as though she's based in Hungary, which we know she wasn't, but if you compare the photos to the appeal, I'm pretty sure it's her. It looks as though she may have had a baby too.

She's got another fb before 2017, set private with brown hair.
Looked through this FB, her long term partner PL (surname is L), seem to have an on off relationship.
Every type of drug is strictly illegal in Hungary, am a bit surprised by those pics of weed and other more serious types as older generation is very conservative, it's not really common to advertise that.
Setting location to Hungary is not uncommon if they are in the UK to just work for a few years. Miskolc is in the poorest area of Hungary.

if she's been in the UK for five years, no later than 2016? So the visible posts showing drug paraphernalia wouldn't really be an issue, I don't think, as they are all when she was living in the UK. Unless the police can prosecute its citizens for social media posts?

Hungary has been part of the Schengen zone since 2007; as I understand, travel throughout the EU without visas or any restrictions. However, I know with Brexit, things have changed, is there still a "transition period" or do EU citizens already have to choose to take UK citizenship or need to apply for visas/permits?

while this is not strictly about her, is Cricklewood or Holland Park a major area where many Hungarian nationals (moving to the UK) live or work?

Ákom Ágnes

This is her previous FB with brown hair.

Ah, OK, I saw this one too but wasn't sure. She looks younger in these photos but she has a very distinctive nose shape, so now I look closer you're right, it's the same girl.

Looking at old photos of murder victims is so poignant, I think. I look at them and think: you had no idea how your story was going to end. :(

There was someone posting in the comments on the Met's page yesterday who claimed to have been engaged to her and with her for 5 years, but the comment has gone now and I didn't note the name so I don't know if it was the boyfriend from the UK page or the Hungarian page.

I wonder where the baby is. There are no birth registrations in the UK with either surname for 2018, so I wonder if it was offered for adoption.

ETA: Of course, the baby may not have been born in the UK, particularly as there are also some pics taken on an aeroplane in mid-2018, so perhaps the baby is in Hungary, with family for instance. I hope so, given what's happened.

You didn't need a visa before Brexit, as with other EU members. After 5years continuous working in the UK you can apply for citizenship but it's very expensive (over £1500).
What I meant about the drug use is that it is heavily frown upon by older generation (in communism it was obviously the big bad West that used drugs, communists drank lol)
So parents and other relatives wouldn't like posts like those. Plus if she had her location set to Hungary she probably visited often (jmo) so not the best idea to advertise that imo.
I didn't see the boyfriend comment, there were apparently other comments removed that suggested involvement in drugs and shady things.

I can't seem to find any Hungarian news about her and can't see any posts on Hungarian UK Facebook groups either so, and this is just my personal opinion, I would think she might have been involved with heavy drugs.
Partner has other FB pages with different names as well so she might have other pages too, perhaps for the older relatives.
I found her on Instagram with both pictures but no posts or followers, perhaps LE investigation?
I am not sure what would happen to baby if born here (baby would not be automatically British, parent needs to have settled status living and working here for 5 years) so I would think that baby would go to Hungary? Have really no idea.

Only 20 years old, practically just a kid, so sad.
Wondering if LE are keeping eyes open for abandoned suitcases.....
imo, speculation.
