Not much on this yet but I got it on yahoo and foxcarolina.com. This mother and son were found near a dog kennel on their property in Colleton County SC. Their family has a long history of connections to the legal system in the Lowcountry and the son, who was murdered, was currently facing charges in a boating accident causing death.

I've seen these photos (below) several times with AM's brother (is itRM3?) engaging with LE at the crime scene. I'm wondering if I were in his shoes if I would want to be hanging around the crime scene the day after? What would my motivation be other than to learn immediately what they were finding and thinking or maybe exercise some influence? I think I would be concerned about optics and also if I would be in the way when they have such important work to do. It would seem that he would need to be escorted everywhere to control the security of evidence, and that's taking a couple officers off the investigation.

I seem to have used up my free access to the the Post & Courier and Island Packet so can't find the article that says the M brothers were at Moselle in days after the murder talking to investigators from the solicitors office, which to me sounds unorthodox. As I recall the article was also questioning their reason for being there.

I'm wondering if I were in his shoes if I would want to be hanging around the crime scene the day after? The following is from the Murdaugh thread #3, as quoted by Elley Mae:

“SLED says they received a call from local law enforcement just after 10 p.m. Monday to aid in the investigation of two people killed by at least one gunshot each.

The agency said there is no danger to the public and, at last report, no active search for suspects.”

The only way this makes any sense at all, particularly that last clause, is if SLED was sure they were looking at a murder/suicide.

IMO, they very likely need to walk back that statement.

IMO, they very likely need to walk back that statement.

That does usually indicate suicide but if so, it would seem they would be in a hurry to close the book on this with so much negative info surrounding these investigations. It only makes them all look worse.
As a rule, local media doesn’t report suicide unless it happens in a public place or is a public person. They will usually report murder/suicide but not to a great extent.

With the observation posted of who’s holding the phone when, I agree they might have been looking for MM ‘s phone — even more interesting though if they are from solicitor’s office and the ones looking for her phone instead of SLED, but especially with a brother and not AM.

At least on crime shows, even though they know its a traumatic time for the spouse of someone murdered, as in AM, they seem to always talk to them directly anyway and mot shield them through a relative. Since MM (and formerly MM with AM) owned Moselle, I hope they were talking to AM about the property (i.e., doing it by the book).

I think in suicide its agreed its hard to shoot yourself more than once — I’m not thinking this is murder/suicide. JMO.
