Claudia Lawrence investigation
http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/13147

It is now six years since Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in York. Despite the intensive efforts of the police, the resolve of her heart-broken family and saturated media coverage, her sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

North Yorkshire Police's commitment and determination to solve the case and bring closure for Claudia's loved-ones, is undiminished by the passage of time.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, head of the force's enhanced Major Crime Unit, is leading a comprehensive review of the original investigation.

This has been supported by national experts from other forces and agencies, including forensic specialists who recently completed a re-examination of Claudia's home on Heworth Road in York.

As a result of this work, Det Supt Malyn and his team have identified new lines of enquiry and fresh public appeals to pursue, as well as renewed appeals on previous key items of interest to the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Mason, Head of Crime for North Yorkshire Police, said: "The decision to focus and prioritise the efforts of the enhanced Major Crime Unit on this case and undertake a comprehensive review of the original investigation, is producing progressive results which we expect to continue over time."

I can't see alley man overcoming anyone in the footage.

If this is from the evening CCTV, it would be difficult to be CL as we know she was still conscious and in calls over an hour later.

I am more interested in the relationship between alley man and the person both evening and night who passes the entrance to Heworth Place, both times walking in the direction of the pub.

In the evening on the Pub side and in the morning on the opposite side of the road to the pub.

It seems to much of a coincidence that they are both seen on different footage 10 hours apart for them not to be associated in any way. In particular, given the unsociable time of morning.
It’s a possibility it’s not about alleyway msn and more about white coat man

Friends probably had more recent photos of her tbh. This was around around the time Facebook was getting big, everyone used to take actual cameras on nights out! There's even a photo of Claudia with a digital camera at some kind of gathering, possibly at the pub.
Odd if it was a digital camera as she is reported not to have a computer

Thats a very interesting observation @Blonderabbit
Many have said that Alley-man was trying to avoid "White Coat Man". Others say they are working together.

Possibility here how Police show Alley-man as key feature (or people latch onto this as he appears to be the main cast, but Police want someone to say "I dont recognise him but that guy in the white coat is familiar"

Particularly when he is then shown close up outside of cost cutters for people to get a better view of>

You can actually see this or you're guessing?
I would say that this is a reasonable assumption on @keep-it-real part.
Alley-man halts AFTER White coat man would have seen him and so there was no way he was avoiding him because-Human nature would be if someone had spotted you, you would continue as normal for fear of making it obvious.

You would carry on walking.

More likely that they didn't want to be seen together.

footage from evening - when the other guy walks past. Not convinced he stops because of the other guy. If he kept going the other guy would be way past. Certain he is looking for a car at the end of the road.

Other thing to note in the uk, the tendency would be to look right first to cross a road, alleyman def looks left at the end of the road……

Difficult to understand that the owners of the land currently being searched took two years, after a study into the terrain and surroundings, to pass on the information (whatever it is), to the police. Unless information was passed on initially but it's taken updated forensic science to evaluate it. Having submitted a file requesting prosecution to the CPS, with regards to the "four" arrested, and the CPS not charging anyone due to lack of evidence, it's obvious that the police have evidence of a Crime and knowledge of a crime, but that it's not strong enough to guarantee a 90% chance of prosecution, and that it may be reliant upon circumstantial evidence rather than weighted in factual scientific evidence..... also known as 'proof'. The police will have had all CCTV material analysed by experts, and will have 99% for sure, seen and noted everything that has been and is being discussed on here. Police tactics throughout the investigation have obviously been carefully planned and organised with aims and objectives in mind.

Looking at that that Heworth Place junction on Google maps, it's wide and well lit. It's definitely plausible white coat man could have spotted alleyman. Surely white coat man would have been clocked quite clearly, both times, by the other Limes CCTV covering Heworth Road? He also appears to be carrying something white in the morning. It looks like alleyman hesitates slightly as he steps out onto Heworth Road in the morning. Possibly looking left to right, but not sure?

all we can do is kick ideas around and see if we can spark something....not that well ever know if were right anyway unless the police solve it
In my opinion there are people who know the 5 on here. It’s a bit like doing a puzzle in the dark - changing pieces about - eventually you will get pieces that fit together. We know it’s highly likely one or two of the five and the others have helped with disposal. But they have never killed again. Though they killed poor defenceless Claudia IMO - kind, well liked, help anyone - even a girl
With no Place to stay - Claudias own dad looking after her like she’s his own ……

Could be…. But he only stops for a second. The guying crossing in front is beyond eyeline. Unless he is checking if that guy has just got out of a car to the left

These are all thing the NYP will know as they have all the footage. The reason the thread has been ongoing so long is because we don’t have enough detail.
NYP will likely have footage of Heworth Road from LP to cost cutter so can place people and vehicles within a 200 yard stretch to some degree.

For me personally the major frustration is that she appeared to disappear from an area which had a pretty good coverage of cctv for 2009. I have had to accept that we can only work with what NYP release to the public and this is of course potentially doctored.

I just hope the current searches are a true development and not another goose chase. Remaining positive
