TN TN - Kaitlynn Abree Ledbetter, 25, wooded area w/o shoes, Overton Co, 2 May 2021

specifically, the clothing description is "pajamas boy shorts that are white with light blue polka dots, a royal blue sleeveless T-shirt, and no shoes"

The no shoes part is the flag for me. Having camped all over the west Carolinas, the terrain is just not friendly to bare feet and I’m sure this young lady knew that if she is from the area. Or I’m sure she would have found out fast and returned.

Couple of clarification questions:

1) So she jumped out of a WINDOW and took off running into the woods after an argument?

2) I’m a man in my 30s, but I’ve bought boy shorts for girlfriends before. Those are less pajamas and more panties. Was I correct in seeing she ran off in only a t-shirt and boy shorts?

Those woods have been searched pretty well haven’t they?

Something very wrong here!
What's the common denominator in both cases?

Who reported her missing?
Who.told LE she jumped.out the window in her PJ's and was barefooted?

Does not.sound good!

So very wrong!
Who saw her jumping from the window? From inside? From outside?
Who could have details about her pyj that morning?
Why would a 25 yr old woman jump from a window at 5:30?
She's not a child or a teenager, she's an adult woman!

Something very wrong was going on in the house at 5:30, you don't jump from a window in pyj at that time for an argument with a relative. You jump beacause you need to escape from something or from someone, and pretty fast! IMO

According to admin, LE searched the woods the week following her disappearance. Dogs tracked her scent to the edge of a road and was lost. That is when LE called off the search, believing she was no longer in the woods.

Admin also shared that a new detective has taken on the case as well as TBI (due to the house fire). An additional search of the woods is planned but a date has not been shared.

Admin shared that only Kaitlyn, her father, and her father’s girlfriend were present the morning of the argument when she took off.
It was also shared that Kaitlyn pushed the screen from the window before jumping out of it. She then ran into the woods.

that sounds like someone afraid for her life - what was going on at 5:30am in the morning???

any bets on whether the house fire was accidental or arson? I'm starting to think DAD looks really guilty right now....
Could we say it's at least suspicious? Two tragic events, same place, same people involved minus Kaitlynn. Once again dad (or wasn't stepdad instead said in a previous post?) is there to report the incident. Only bad karma?

ADMIN NOTE:

WS Rules aren't always black & white, so sometimes Mods or Admins have to work through the gray to come up with a solution, depending on the particular case.

The private FB group known as "Official Kaitlyn Abree Ledbetter Missing person discussion Group" is not allowed. If a WSer joins it, they are not allowed to bring any info from a private group to the public WS forum.

The public Missing Person FB group known as "Where is Kaitlyn Ledbetter" is being approved as a Missing Person Support Group. Although family are not part of the Admin team (our usual requirement), two of the Admins show as out of Livingstone, TN which is in Overton County where Kaitlynn is missing from. It seems they are reasonably local.

Although there seem to be family members commenting in the public group, they do not show as part of the Admin team. 'Comments' are never allowed for discussion, so comments by people purporting to be family members are not allowed as WS has no way of verifying that they are in fact who they claim to be.

Hope that clarifies. Any other questions, please private message me or use the Report feature to enquire.

Thanks.

The "We Help the Missing" is not an approved source.

Do not link to these random "missing persons groups" without getting pre-approval from WS Mods or Admin first.

ADMIN RANT:

There are literally thousands of these groups all over the internet who snag pics and details from all over, make it appear as their own, and there is absolutely no way we can vet them. That particular group does not have a family member as an Admin, they are not local to the case, and we are not familiar with them. They state that they have PIs on board but there is nothing to specifically indicate that Kaitlynn's family or anyone involved in her case has hired the PIs associated with that site.

Not related to the above group, but believe it or not, some of these random groups have announced a person has been found deceased while the individual was still missing. And yes .. it was linked here at WS and a distraught mother contacted us, desperate to find out where the information came from that her son was dead.

We had another random group linked here where it was announced that a young child was "Found Safe" when in fact the child was located deceased.

We have had groups where we found out that one of the hosts had a criminal background involving child abuse.

And that folks is why pre-approval is required and why we are sticky as all get out about what gets linked and discussed here at Websleuths.

On another note, when stating/paraphrasing/quoting that an "Admin said ....", you must link to where the Admin said it, not just link to the same home page each time. Otherwise WS members/Mods/Admins are having to search all through the posts to see that it was in fact said ... somewhere. We don't have time to do that, so if you are going to reference it, click on the post and link directly to it or risk your entire post being removed.
