Does anyone know how many homes AM has and where they are?
Good question. Another detail would be: How many properties in AM's name?

As another poster pointed out, it is not uncommon for people in high risk professions to legally protect property and other assets in the event that they are targeted by a law suit.

The clan has been in the "Sue'em" business for generations. It is possible that they took legal protective measures regarding their own property(s).

There are so many questions, but today I have this one in particular:

If, as has been reported, MM had hired a forensic accountant to investigate their family finances, then wouldn't a reasonable person expect that, upon learning of MM's June 7 murder, the forensic accountant would have gone immediately to LE?

And if that forensic accountant did do that, why did it take Duffie Stone - whose Solicitor's Office investigators appear in photographs at the scene the day following the murderers - until August 11 to recuse himself?

That would only give you a possible motive though.

It wouldn’t be hard to find a few potential motives in a case like this, and that doesn’t necessarily mean a particular person is responsible.

You need means and opportunity too.

That being said, he should have recused himself immediately.

An initial report included a box checked off stating that Murdaugh was found with no visible injuries, but Sheriff Thomas "T.C." Smalls told Fox News that was an error and that the report had been updated.

The updated report indicates a "major injury." Authorities said separately that he was treated for a "superficial gunshot wound to the head."

In the updated report, authorities also subtly changed the boxes for using alcohol and using drugs from "no" to "unknown" in both categories.

I am told that many people in SC (and elsewhere) have their own medivac insurance (and it's not even all that expensive).

Here's what I think: there was no spare and no jack in that car, because it didn't come standard and most people who buy a Mercedes want it that way. That in no way means that Murdaugh didn't get out to look at his tire (which was slashed with his own knife!)

His injuries were so slight as to evade documentation and he was released very quickly from the hospital, into rehab.

He called the helicopter transport (or his brother did) almost immediately after the accident. He therefore is able to cut short interactions with local LE and with SLED.

He tells LE he didn't get a good look at the shooter (but LE codes it as a handgun incident, apparently based on what he saw) but they do a composite anyway? It sounds like they did this at the scene, which would mean his injuries were slight indeed. Maybe we'll learn later that they did this at the hospital, but still, how does he get a good look at this person as they drive past? You'd think he'd be a bit more concerned about finding cover from the raining down of all those bullets.
I think the way his lawyer explained it, they pulled up and talked to him, then opened fire.

"Mr. Murdaugh’s account of the shooting remained the same, Mr. Griffin said: Someone had driven by in a truck as he was changing a tire, then driven back around and asked if he was having car trouble. The next thing Mr. Murdaugh heard was a gunshot, Mr. Griffin said."

This stinks to high heaven!

Rumors have circulated about the cause of the shooting, with people speculating whether it was self-inflicted. Griffin denied that, saying he believes what Murdaugh reported.

“I don’t think you choose to have a flat tire or stage a flat tire to commit suicide. That makes no sense,” Griffin said. “There are many things (being reported) that are incongruent.”

Griffin said there was no gun found on the side of the road, in Murdaugh’s car, or in the area by SLED.

He also said a SLED agent who was on the scene told him that the side wall of Murdaugh’s tire was sliced.

Griffin said he was on the phone with Alex Murdaugh and a SLED agent on Monday. The SLED agent discussed how the agency is testing the blood in Murdaugh’s car, which spilled from his wound when he was retrieving his phone to call 911 after the shooting, according to Griffin.

Griffin also said two Good Samaritans found Murdaugh injured at the scene and took him in their car. Murdaugh called 911 from the car. The two people delivered Murdaugh to an ambulance further down the road, he said. From the ambulance, he was then airlifted to Savannah.

Both people have been interviewed by SLED, Griffin said.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel really uncomfortable with the incident report being changed after the fact?

Attorney says Alex Murdaugh plans to repay millions he misappropriated from law firm | WCBD News 2

HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – An attorney for Alex Murdaugh — the disbarred South Carolina lawyer who was ousted from his family law firm after misappropriating company funds just days before allegedly being shot in the head while changing a tire — says that Murdaugh “is accepting fully responsibility for his conduct.”

Murdaugh’s attorney said that “Alex is deeply sorry for his actions,” and plans to pay back all of the monies he misappropriated, which was confirmed to be in the millions.

<snip>

The attorney also said that Murdaugh “hopes that his conduct does not distract from law enforcement’s efforts to find who murdered his wife Maggie and son Paul.”

Well this is a convoluted mess.
He called from another car? And they took him down the road to an ambulance?
So he didn't call 911 from the scene....

So if he has the money to pay it back why did he take it in the first place? Did he recently come into some money? JMO.
