Local to me.... Lot's of angry/threatening posts, the Harrisburg area (Steelton is about 2 miles away) is too small to be making threats. LOTS of shootings, I don't even drive through certain parts of the city anymore for fear of a stray bullet, the past couple years has not been kind to the violence in that small city. Just had a mom and 8 year old shot the other day for simply living in the wrong place.:mad:

‘It’s been too long’: Months after central Pa. father’s mysterious disappearance, family’s worries grow

"A family member who PennLive is not identifying because of safety concerns thinks a friend of Smith’s set him up to take the fall for an incident the two were involved with before Smith went missing. She said Smith told her about people following and threatening him, or shining lights in his windows on the 300 block of Swatara Street.

About a month after Smith’s disappearance, Steelton police told PennLive no foul play is suspected in Smith’s disappearance.

When reached this week police provided the following statement: “At this time the investigation into missing person Goldie Smith is very still active and ongoing. The police department will not comment on the details to preserve the investigation but are following every lead.”

Smith’s family insisted he would not take off and neglect his children.

Smith has a 7-year-old in elementary school and a 1-year-old in daycare whom he dropped off and picked up every day, according to the family member who spoke with PennLive. She said he also has a 23-year-old son about to stand trial, and Smith would never miss his court hearing."

A Steelton man whose decomposed body was found months after he was reported missing died from an arrow to the head, authorities told PennLive this week.

Goldie Smith, who’d been missing since Sept. 9, 2021, was found dead in July in a wooded area behind the 800 block of North Front Street in Steelton, according to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office determined Smith died of a “penetrating arrow wound to the head” on or around Sept. 6, 2021 — the day he was last seen, spokesman Brett Hambright said. Smith’s manner of death is listed as undetermined.

...unable to determine whether Smith died in the same place he was found. [Snip] ...couldn’t recall ever seeing another death caused by an arrow to the head,... [snip] District Attorney Fran Chardo said it’s possible Smith’s wound was self-inflicted, and because of this, he said investigators could not figure out whether his death was a homicide or suicide. No bow was found at the scene, he said.
