Can we entertain, especially in light of the video evidence that is easily verified by reporters outside, that an error in the days of the week was made? And not some conspiracy?

It was parked in the parking lot of the nature preserve and I assume overnight parking is not allowed.

Yes.
But.
Different dogs have different abilities or are worked in different ways. We have no idea what dogs were doing or how they “found” the scent.

IMO one could plant a scent but they would have to know SAR canine tracking very well to “get away” with it. This link explains a lot about how dogs hit on scent (Trailing versus tracking: The keys to success)

In regards to finding him? Yeah. It matters a heckuvalot!
In regards to establishing the trustworthiness & culpability of his family (who seem to be the only ones that may know something about hisbwhereabouts)? Yeah. It matters a heckuvalot!
Does anyone think this wouldn't matter? It may not make him appear to be more or less culpable for her death, ...ehhh, I take that back. Yeah. It would even make him appear (to ME anyway & IMHOO) *waay more* likely to be guilty.

Is there a scenario where knowing the facts behind these questions would NOT matter?

Anyone local know if the Park Reserve he is possibly in has a trail? If so, does it connect to the Florida stretch of the Appalachian Trail? I know that trail system has many resources for the hikers coming through there.

It just dawned on me that BL and parents could have spent those first ten days of September acquiring fake ID and passports.

IMO, he went to the reserve and left the car there. Then he either went into the park or walked away. I imagine the parking lot has closing hours and LE put the notice on the car after it was parked there for longer than the permitted time.

If we believe the story he parked there Tuesday and had note/warning by Wednesday. Is that right?

BL’s parents know exactly where he is, and I don’t believe he’s in the reserve. Why else would they not take part in the search for him? The three day delay of reporting BL missing gave him a head start to get to his hiding place.
BL is hiding and the missing person report his parents filed was a cover. They have been dishonest since the beginning of all of this and I don’t see them becoming honest people any time soon.

Yeah, I have been thinking along those lines. Their story is strange right from the beginning... did these parents not get virtually slapped over the head with a giant red flag when their son "went for a hike" in the midst of these circumstances? I mean "strange" isn't even the word for that part alone. His fiancée was missing, he's most likely the last person to see her, he's refusing to cooperate, but hey... it's a nice day for a hike? Nice try.

Why did they take four days to report him missing? Just my opinion... but I'd say it's likely that they needed four days to stash him away in a secure location, whether that's across state lines, international borders, or in a complicit extended family member's basement (for example). Just anywhere he either won't be found or can't be arrested. The missing persons report then conveniently directs LE to the most vast and time consuming area available. And the reason BL's sister genuinely knows nothing about it, is that she's too above-board and in possession of a moral compass, to ever go along with such a plan. So no one breathed a word to her.

What I am saying is - and not even intended towards the OP because I haven't seen anything in this thread where we disagree - but just in general, people who have just voiced their opinion absolutely know when someone is "speaking at" them saying "I could not disagree more with what you said", when their rebuttal post dovetails exactly with your own; whether or not the original speaker uses your screen-name and quote next to it.

That, in point of fact, might even be why we say "scroll and roll" rule.

It's not the "tell me you could not disagree with me more, without specifically telling me by name that you could not actually disagree with me more" rule.

I was watching live KSLTV on Facebook live and saw footage of them setting up the popup canopy. At one point I saw what looked very clearly was a shallow grave or earth-covered form of a person. I don't have the exactly point in the video where that was clear to me, but I had the video in full screen on my laptop and it was something that seemed obvious to me. When I play it back from this link I can't find that spot in the video but around the 33:00 mark it looks like that point where I saw that, but now it looks less clear to me. Maybe the angle of the video was different.

The pop-up canopy wasn't erected directly over the body though and I have no idea if it were moved over the remains later, which seemed to be off camera. During the section of video where they set that up, they had been walking all over the ground it ended up covering.

Others have stated that early footage showed the remains and clothing could be seen but that it was quickly edited out.

This is my first post on Gabby‘s thread her father just moved my town in June. I have so many questions.
Where did the info come from the van appeared on September 1st?
Do people think BL has/had a gun?
Will a search of the BL house happen soon? Will charges come soon?
I have a ton more but need to try to catch up on this fast moving thread.
IMO his parents seem to be more of accomplices than parents. He’s not at that park. He could just as well never have driven home as well as he has never left that house. Seems most information on his whereabouts has not been reliable. If he’s alive he will be found quickly as he is neither savy, smart or a survivalist. I am thankfully that gabbys family has the answer they wanted the most for weeks now - her location. I am heartbroken for them all.

I think that September 1 date came from law enforcement, but I'm not sure where that information was sourced.

I do think it's probable he has a gun, but it's unconfirmed. Law enforcement was heavily armed on both days they searched for him.

Gabby's autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, so I wouldn't expect an arrest warrant to come before then.

We don't know when/if a search warrant will be executed on the house, but I think it is a near certainty. I'd be surprised if it wasn't carried out tomorrow.

The most important thing right now is finding this coward. I imagine they'll be back in that reserve area tomorrow.

Thank you. That's what I was wondering - could someone else have drug clothing with his scent.

So we can't use that scent as proof his was in Florida.

We don't know if or when or where the dogs alerted for scent. His car had been there so if the were where the car had been maybe they sniffed him. If it was more into the interior I'd say he definitely entered the park. Either way, he told his parents that was where he was going to hike. But we are dealing with liars here so maybe he lied to mommy and daddy or they lied for him. Who knows!

Bob Pence, retired special agent in charge for the FBI in Colorado and Wyoming, says investigators will have their hands full processing the area where Petito was found.

“A lot of evidence will be collected around the area where the human remains were found. Is there evidence there of a crime or does it look more like an accident or what?,” said Pence.

Pence says the Denver FBI bureau may have sent specialists from Colorado to Wyoming to assist.

“Typically, [with] a case like this, some specialists will be up there from headquarters in Denver, maybe evidence recovery people. There are a lot of specialties and most of those are based in Denver,” said Pence.

Officials did not release details on the condition of the remains found. Without that information, Pence says it’s not possible to estimate how long it could take to determine a cause of death.

If you zoom in on the bottom/ front circle it clearly looks like a flip flop. (I’m not speculating on the back item as I can’t tell.)

Consider that there is common perception error when the mind processes info. There is a unique bias that fills in missing content.

In this case, why not consider the light brown pig sniffing the left circle, or the shrunken head to the right of the right circle.

Shadows are interesting but not reliable enough to conclude .

take a look at the image shapes I referenced and try to convince otherwise.

Juries can make reasonable inferences based on the evidence. They can decide whether any testifying witnesses are credible and decide whether their actions and testimony support each other. I’m sure there will by physical evidence, but cases have been made on circumstantial evidence, just watch the Innocent Files on Netflix, even though the jury got it wrong in that instance. It may be an uphill battle, but not impossible.

I think there’s two flip flops there. If you zoom in you can see what looks like 3 straps. I remember reading she had OCD, so maybe she took them off prior to getting in the van


Brian had a pair that look just like that. He’s wearing them in the LE bodycam video. They are more likely his, not hers.
