Several of us were watching the KSL helicopter feed when LE arrived at Spread Creek. They cut away pretty quickly when it seemed clear there was a body on the ground and I've messaged with two other people who saw the same footage. What I saw was a body-shape, and I thought I could see clothing and the body looked like a young woman but of course I was expecting it to be Gabby, so I may have been projecting.

A reliable observer here on WS says she thinks the body was partly covered with rocks and gravel. I simply noticed that the body was pretty much out in the open, hardly any trees or shade and yes, lots of rock and gravel. At any rate, we will find out if in fact he attempted to conceal her body with some rocks and gravel (which I find plausible and I know LE knows whether he did or not).

I think he made sure she was dead. We can't discuss any of that at this point, though.

Can someone here message me that video if you have it? TIA

I'm almost certain this is incorrect. Can you tell us a time stamp in the body cam video where you saw that? Everything I saw was about finding him an alternative place to sleep so that they didn't have to take her to jail.
It is correct. When they call in to get him a room, the LE mentions a Womens Shelter and he chuckles, then clarifys it’s a male. After that, he asks if it’s possible to get her a room and IIRC he said, well, I tried.

A few things are sticking out like a red thumb to me… anyone else see this? FACTS ONLY HERE.. I’m not attaching opinions to guilt or innocence, just trying to see the facts out….

- LE refers to BL as POI not a suspect even after Gabby is found

- Media and LE have NOT referred to this as a murder investigation… yet. Strange to anyone else???

- DV incident on 8/12, LE gave her the van so she could free herself from the relationship at that time and drive away a single woman, as BL was safely in a hotel room with access to get back home to FL from there. Arguing over the rest is a mute point…

- Attorney is giving news conference in NY, not FL… why? Is BL in NY with his attorney possibly?

thoughts??

Generally, they want a cause of death before it is declared a homicide. The autopsy is tomorrow.

I 100% agree with all of this. His parents helped him - the couple lived with them for sometime so his domestic violence did not just start on this cross country trip. I assure you that they knew of his temper and his violence towards Gabby.

When you're living in close quarters like that, nothing is sacred. My father is a handicapped legally blind man who watches the news all day. I went to pick up my mother's car at their house earlier and the story was on. I told my dad I had been following it all day and he said, "The parents know something, they lived in that house. why else would they lawyer up so fast?"

I wonder how his parents are feeling tonight. Are they feeling confident in their decisions or regretting them? Even if their instincts were to protect their son, I have to think that the FBI escorting them out of their home today and the news that Gabby had been found deceased brought it all to a whole new level.

They are playing serious games if they lie to the FBI about anything involving their son.

All of that is typical of an investigation these days.

And if you’re talking about BL’s attorney, he’s from NY, right?

I've always wondered if the NY Attorney was put in place with the expectation that Gabby's mother, who resides in NY, would file an eventual civil lawsuit against The Laundrie family.

MOO.

Using the word "passion" has overtones of a sexual, romantic nature, even if that's not what the speaker officially means. And historically we have been more lenient with this because, well, "that's just how things are between men and women. Can't really blame them."

definition of crime of passion.. hope it helps…

Crime of Passion

I read a post this morning that said Gabby’s mom tried to file a missing person’s report with the NPPD and they would not allow her to. That’s why the report came out of NY. Is this true, if so, why? Gabby had lived with BL’s parents for a couple of years. North Port was Gabby’s home. All the drama is happening in Florida. What am I missing? Is it because her parents were residents of NY?
A lot of agencies just don't take MP reports unless there's a lot of evidence that the person is missing because of a combination of the philosophy that the person could be out of touch on purpose, and the fact that opening yet another case adds to their workload.

I picture the moment he realizes fully what he's done. He's out in a remote area, far away from home and without much money. What to do? Maybe panic.

What other choice did he really have besides get back in that van. The thing is, nobody was looking for him or the van at that point. He had some time, but where was he supposed to go? He's making decisions with a 23 year old mindset, likely scared sh*!less.
What's amazing is that, if the timeline is correct, the Bethunes saw the van on the 27th and the elk hunters on the 29th. So the van sat there for 2 days, presumably within yards of her body, and he still came back to the scene to drive away in it.

They stated that had no money for a hotel when they were pulled over by LE in Utah, so where did the money for the 6 days hotel in Salt Lake City come from a few days later?

Did they have some money, but lied to LE about it?

Did one of Gabby's parents wire her some money? If so, I wonder what she told them.....that could've been an interesting conversation.
She may have had a decent credit rating and put in on credit on her card.

Well, he would also have to go through Mississippi to get from Alabama to Louisiana. Mississippi actually has a gulf coast. This is important so that the people who live there can be warned to keep an eye out for him. Although if he was in Mobile over the weekend, he has likely already moved through Mississippi by now.

I live in a town along the Appalachian trail and I'm keeping my eyes out now. I'm not good at faces but really good at mannerisms so I'm glad they have so much video. I know he likes the AT so no crazier than any other place. I'm leaving info on local hiking sites just in case.

IIRC it's fairly straightforward to get from Jackson Hole to the nearest interstate (I-80). There are so many millions of people who go that way.
I doubt BL would have gone west into Idaho or east via Dubois etc., both of which are more remote and squiggly IIRC.

Agreed -- I am totally unfamiliar with that amazing part of the country, but I got on G-maps and asked about From Jackson Hole/To South Fork, and indeed, it presented I-80 as best way. There weren't many alternates. Lon-n-n-ng trip.

IMO, this case will be solved in the end with cell phone/electronic data, DNA, security cameras and a trail of financial transactions.

In today's world it is becoming increasingly difficult to be a successful criminal.......

Isn't that a nice thought:)

So, you as a police officer (park police) get a 911 report of a man hitting a woman.
And when you get there she is slapping him (moo he knew to stop and let her hit him before cops walked up, super manipulative) her face has pressure marks, he is driving her van, he has her phone, and it's all
"Hey Bro."

I thought the call came into Moab Police - they weren't in the park yet, they were on the offramp before the entrance station. Did both groups of LE show up? I hadn't heard that.

Here's a scenario I haven't heard mentioned yet: What if BL lied to his parents and said they broke up. Told them she was cheating on him or that she wronged him or betrayed him somehow- anything to make her look like the "bad guy" and justify the non-communication with GP's parents. He could have said he was so hurt that he had to come home and told them not to mention or talk about GP because it's too painful for him. Then when the heat got too intense with her being missing he realized his lie wasn't going to hold up so he took off and ran.

Just a thought..
