Time line of events around the death of Gabrielle Petito.

27th August "can you help Stan" Text message from Gabby's handset to her mother (one of the suspicious messages)

29th August Miranda Baker says she and friend gave Brian Laundrie a lift and he left the vehicle in a very great rush and stressed up.

User comment - (Highly likely Gabby was dead by now and was concealed in the white Escort Van).

30th Aug Last text message supposedly sent ex Gabby's phone (the "no service in Yosemite" message)

31st August nothing to report in terms of phone messages.

1St SepT Brian returns to FL with van and licence plate reader spots Van about time he enters Northport FL. Multiple witness statements
from several neighbours have him at the house in very early September. (based on MSM reports).

1st Sept Gabby's phone turns off for the last time.

3rd to 5th Sept approximately, Neighbours witness Laudrie family going on camping trip with New camper. (the Camper top was new , the Dark RED Truck less the camper top had been owned by Mr Laundrie for quite some time. Neighbour cannot remember the exact days it was away.

It appears that this "camper top" was bought late August or early September but I have no hard data on this-it appears to be a VERY recent purchase from witness statements.

10th September : Gabby's mother reaches out to Brian and his mother but with no response.

11 September 2021: Gabby finally reported missing officially to police by her parents.

Footnote : the Coroner / Pathologist has ruled in WY that the death of Gabby Petito of NY is a homicide.
The manner of death as of 24th Sept 21 has not been officially notified. It may not be notified until the offender (s) is apprehended for LE reasons.

LE may have info that they aren't sharing. They must have a reason to believe BL is in that reserve when they continue to look for him. They have technology to scan the park at night to see if he is walking around in there alive.

Agreed. I am watching the live coverage and there is an awful amount of agency vehicles at the reserve for them not to be going off something concrete IMO.

Quick question. I've seen numerous posts about the trip back to Florida to clean out storage unit. Do we have solid proof this happened. Seems easy for a sleuth to come up with flight records and tickets or video of him arriving in Florida. All I've seen is word of mouth and that doesn't seem like credible information. Sorry if this has been talked about I didn't see proof in media timeline.

This is really interesting because the argument takes place just a few hours before the Bethune's spot the van with the sandals and the closing door. The van was parked 900 feet from where Gabby's body was eventually found.
Some hours after the restaurant argument the van was still in the North of Jackson according to the restaurant visitors. They spotted it. See my post above. That must have been around 5-6 pm.
I don't remember when the other woman drove past the van on the Spread Creek Road. Probably one or two hours later? Only Brian could be seen in it then.

No, no proof, as far as I know. Gabby's stepfather was told that is what happened, and he retold it.
I think that the police will know if it is true, and if it has any bearing on Gabby's murder.

We are not allowed to sleuth the parents of BL here. But people can sleuth them elsewhere. There is a lot of public info on them online if you know where to look. Someone once said if you follow the money you will find the answer. I think LE is much smarter at sleuthing than me. I do hope they have done some online sleuthing. I think if one follows the money, the real estate, the parents info, it may lead to where BL could be hiding if he is still alive. He lived with them, possibly relied on them, so why would any of this change now when he can’t go to work or go to the bank or borrow Gabby’s van?

Question: are the statistics in cases like this similar to that in typical missing person cases, (i.e., the chances of locating the POI decreases the longer the investigation takes)?
This case is unique because the "missing" person is (likely) suspected of committing a serious crime.

However, there have been no signs of life in nine days. If he is on the run it's unusual that he hasn't been caught on surveillance and nobody has reported seeing him.

The FBI must have reason to believe that he entered the reserve, so I would say yes, the longer he is missing the more likely it is that he is deceased. IMO

It has to do when the actual crime was committed. It's illegal to provide comfort or assistance to someone who has committed a crime. Gabby was murdered around 9/27 according to what we know. So when Brian killed her, he committed an offense against the United States i.e. murder or one of the lesser included crimes. There is a "knowing" requirement so I think the evidence there will determine if anyone is charged if Brian is captured alive. Here is the federal statute that prohibits being an accessory after the fact:

18 U.S.C. 3: Accessory After the Fact

Whoever, knowing that an offense against the United States has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact.

Except as otherwise expressly provided by any Act of Congress, an accessory after the fact shall be imprisoned not more than one-half the maximum term of imprisonment or (notwithstanding section 3571) fined not more than one-half the maximum fine prescribed for the punishment of the principal, or both; or if the principal is punishable by life imprisonment or death, the accessory shall be imprisoned not more than 15 years.

18 U.S. Code § 3 - Accessory after the fact

<modsnip - please no sleuthing of the families of the victim OR the POI. No charges have been brought against BL’s family nor have they been named as suspects or POIs in this case. Thank you.>

Since that time. I suspect his cell phone was left running at the residence during 3 -5 September and mostly thereafter to fool LE who may have been using the tower signals to keep track of Brian Laundrie. Just a strong vibe I have.

The above post states "It's illegal to provide comfort or assistance to someone who has committed a crime."

Not really true, I don't think. I think the illegal part comes into play re: the knowing a crime has been committed by the person part. So it's a matter of what BL's parents knew.

I'm also not absolutely sure how this particular statute will apply unless BL is found, tried, and convicted. No one can absolutely know he committed the crime unless there is a trial.

So with BL's parents leaving the house, media has been reporting that LE has been there since the search of it - are we to believe that either 1- LE knows where they are going 2- intend to follow 3- they are going to meet LE somewhere rather than LE coming to them?

But why did they skip Monday? Is it because so many resources were needed with the search warrant? This puzzles me.
NPPD Stopped the search Sunday. After Gabby's body was found, jurisdiction moved to the FBI and they decided to continue the search after the search warrant was executed Monday. Change of jurisdiction.
