Funny you brought this up. I wondered that myself. The color is also off from what we have seen in non-mug photos.

Maybe he did get shot and he’s covering where they shaved a lot of his hair? I’ve been in camp with a slight abrasion not anything close to Jim-boy’s description. But maybe not?
RBBM
I don't think they shaved much of his hair at all - at least from the photos from his initial court appearance. I will try to find it.

ETA link to photo of sides/back of AM's head at initial bond hearing. Mugshot also did not show any evidence of a wound.

Once the case ended in a pair of financial settlements worth $4.3 million, Murdaugh intervened and had Fleming direct the Satterfields’ money to a fraudulent bank account Murdaugh had created in 2015, Waters said.

Within a few months after Satterfields’ money was deposited into the dummy account, Murdaugh transferred it to his personal bank account, pocketing about $3.4 million of the overall settlement, Waters said.

Among a flurry of transactions that followed, Murdaugh wrote checks for $610,000 and $125,000 to himself, and cut his father a check for more than $300,000, Waters said.

“He had been carrying a $100,000 credit card balance for months. That gets paid off,” Waters said.

Alex Murdaugh denied bond after arrest in alleged settlement scam

At one point in the Oct. 19 hearing, Newman called up a SLED agent to testify about the status of other investigations involving Murdaugh and his family.

The agent was hesitant to speak but ultimately acknowledged that SLED is probing other allegations of financial crimes against Murdaugh. The agency is also investigating the manner of Satterfield’s death, the agent said.

After stealing the GS settlement money, why did AM write a check to his FATHER for $300K+?

I remember reading that. I had never heard of the Murdaugh family before the double murder. I told my friends that AM said he was shooting to explain GSR on his hands. Iirc, AM allegedly was shooting ( I don't know why) before he left to go the hospital and his mother's. In fact, I do not recall reading that he had visited his mother until months later. He was out shooting and then visiting his dad and that was his story.
I would love to know how being denied bail made him feel today. :)

yes, I am very curious about that as well..... and when? Close to father's death?

Do we know for a fact that AM was the favored or "top" son.....
I just do not understand the heirarchy of influence of the three sons....

I think most of us are close out of being able to see any of the fits news. And I can not get it via incognito window.

Can you add, at least some of what is within the article?

Buster Murdaugh, incidentally, has power of attorney over his father’s assets … a maze of properties and other holdings this news outlet is learning more about every day.

“Gambling the freshly liquidated assets,” an attorney following the case told me.

After playing roulette, Buster and John Marvin moved to one of the Venetian’s blackjack tables. That’s when our source snapped a few quick pictures as the duo gambled and drank together …

Beaufort County tax records show Alex Murdaugh owes back taxes on multiple properties | WCBD News 2

These eight Beaufort County properties all on St. Helena Island have back taxes due. Some of the missed payments date as far back as 2019. Murduagh is a partial owner in all of the properties. Tax amounts owed on the properties range from just a few dollars to more than a hundred dollars.

Beaufort County property tax records show Murdaugh co-owns the eight St. Helena Island properties with a Barrett T. Boulware.

I think it's just the way it's grown out. At his first bond hearing it was shorter all round and there were very clear video shots of thae back of AM's head. I didn't see a shaved spot, it all looked quite the same and no peek of skin anywhere that I noticed

Fits is really starting to reach as the report has absolutely nothing to do with the murders as the headline suggests. Media in general is grouping a bunch of nonsense reports under the “murders” banner.

Well, friends — I must tell you that tomorrow morning (Thursday) I am headed for Columbia, S.C., and USC, no less. I guess I won’t run into anyone we know, who I thought might have talked his way back into law school.

I will definitely keep my eyes open o_O for the Alvin Glen detention center, the courthouse, and other things connected to this case. DH is rolling his eyes. It’s his NROTC reunion. Apparently we are having dinner with a Marine turned Texas sheriff tomorrow night. Poor man, he doesn’t know he will be dining with a passionate WebSleuth/ Forensic Files fan.:D

Will try to catch up each night. Don’t move too fast without me! :):)

No promises on moving fast (I’m not in control), but I look forward to any brain-picking data obtained from your unsuspecting dinner partner. :p

Enjoy your travel. Be safe.

Well and — thinking like a mom here — some of us have our concerns about BM’s alleged reputation and integrity, but I can’t imagine the living h3ll this poor young man is dealing with right now. Mother and younger brother brutally murdered; he has legal troubles for allegedly loaning his DL, which contributed to a “drunk driving” death; his father (a man he should have been able to count on) has turned out to be a scoundrel on every level; and he’s got to know his name is smeared over the place related to SS, whether he was involved or not.

I think we can all imagine now the dysfunctional upbringing he’s had, so I doubt he has good coping skills.

He’s got a lot on his shoulders. He’s grieving and he must be so disillusioned. I agree the optics of gambling in Las Vegas seem ill advised but maybe we and the media should cut him some slack right now. Las Vegas must be a welcome distraction.
