This case is just sooooooooo frustrating. Clearly we have multiple stories, sagas going on.. But these were very very brutal murders. What is LE doing? What resources are being used?

I do assume that there are significant other crimes that are being investigated an will be exposed........... but really. WHAT is being done about the murders.....

This has been my feelings for weeks now. These murders seem to be back burner. I really wonder, as I’ve seen in other cases, if LE has a suspect in their sights and need more to cap it off or if they are still at the start line with figuring this out. I know that info is a pipe dream since SLED is so quiet. As I’ve said before, there’s a reason it’s so quiet and we will eventually find out why.

Well and — thinking like a mom here — some of us have our concerns about BM’s alleged reputation and integrity, but I can’t imagine the living h3ll this poor young man is dealing with right now. Mother and younger brother brutally murdered; he has legal troubles for allegedly loaning his DL, which contributed to a “drunk driving” death; his father (a man he should have been able to count on) has turned out to be a scoundrel on every level; and he’s got to know his name is smeared over the place related to SS, whether he was involved or not.

I think we can all imagine now the dysfunctional upbringing he’s had, so I doubt he has good coping skills.

He’s got a lot on his shoulders. He’s grieving and he must be so disillusioned. I agree the optics of gambling in Las Vegas seem ill advised but maybe we and the media should cut him some slack right now. Las Vegas must be a welcome distraction.

I had never heard of the Electric Daisy Carnival, but he might, for all we know, be there for that too, and unlike my niece, who is attending it this weekend, he can legally gamble.

She's going with her mother, my sister-in-law, who plans to hang out on the Strip and maybe do some gambling herself. My niece is really into electronic music, and has attended a couple of smaller festivals in our region but now will attend the Big Kahuna.

EBM in light of worm’s kind reminder no shade at BM. TY.

Despite everything, I do empathize with BM for so brutally losing his mom and baby brother, his grandpa M so soon after, his brother facing charges for drunk boating resulting in a young passenger’s death possibly indirectly connected to BM in for the alleged knowing loan of his DL to baby bro to buy alcohol underage, the humiliation of near constant broadcast of his daddy’s high crimes and betrayal of an ever increasing number of folks, and for the cowardly public way Team AM claimed he hatched his whole alleged assisted suicide plot for the sole benefit of BM. It can’t be a good place to be.

At the same times, as others have also mentioned, the optics here of drinking and gambling at a Vegas casino could hardly be worse at this time imo. BM doubtless is hurting; John Marvin is there so the young man won’t be alone. I just wish they had chosen some lower vis way to do this. Maybe that is too much to expect of someone who bears the Scarlet M now as far as we know through no fault of his own, unless we learn of worse facts. It does seem unlikely that BM set any of this in motion or brought it on himself as concerns that moral or criminal maelstrom.

Allegations/Opinion only. All persons presumed innocent until proven guilty as concerns the spirit and letter of our law.

I found this Inside Edition article with a recent interview with AM's lawyer, Jim Griffin.

"Griffin, however, says he does not believe Murdaugh killed Maggie and Paul. In fact, Murdaugh had not been home at the time of their murders, he said.

“He was sitting at the bedside of his mother at her house when the coroner says these murders happened,” Griffin said, adding that his mother, who suffers from dementia, had housekeepers in the home."

Assuming he is clean, and we need to do that at this time, I can’t really frown on whatever BM does. @CarefullyTaught with that cool avatar above makes the points I agree with and BM has all the responsibility that’s getting dumped in his lap I would assume, being pretty much the only one left. Even for a person of wealth, it would be great pressure.

I just wanted to say this is one of the nicest groups I’ve ever been in. Everyone let’s the other state their theory or opinion with little or no bad remarks at all. I give a big hand to our Administrators and all they do to keep Websleuths going and to our members that so faithful sleuth out the answers to the crimes we try to figure out.☺️

I remember reading that. I had never heard of the Murdaugh family before the double murder. I told my friends that AM said he was shooting to explain GSR on his hands. Iirc, AM allegedly was shooting ( I don't know why) before he left to go the hospital and his mother's. In fact, I do not recall reading that he had visited his mother until months later. He was out shooting and then visiting his dad and that was his story.
I would love to know how being denied bail made him feel today. :)
RBBM. Probably utterly gobsmacked. To not get what he wants, when he wants it, and HOW he wants it has probably never been part of his paradigm. How dare the judge!! JMO.

Arrived in Columbia this afternoon and half expected to see a ginger out with a chain gang picking up trash on I-77 but no such luck. ;) LOL

My dinner partner turned out not to be a sheriff but the head parole officer for his county in Texas. He was interested in hearing about WebSleuths, our culture/rules, etc. He was aware of this case but unfortunately no inside scoop being that he works in Texas. :)

Wasn’t the second alibi we heard for AM shortly after the murders that he was out shooting somewhere. Maybe trying to give himself a explanation for testing positive for gsr?
The first alibi was that he was helping with his father, so they’re kinda fluid it seems.
I think the first alibi of visiting Dad changed because of hospital security cameras. Moo

I believe that was a blunder of wording by the Daily Mail for AM saying wasn't home when the shootings occured, he was out.

At first it appeared to me that they kept rehashing the boating accident to try distract from the lack of information and/or progress in the murder case. Nothing has changed, imo, just new distractions and absolutely zero info. Jmo

Murdaugh Murders: Investigators Release 911 Calls From Roadside Shooting Incident

The extent of Murdaugh’s head injuries has been the focus of considerable debate since the shooting, and his calm demeanor during the 911 call is likely to further call into question claims made by his lawyers as to the severity of his wound – which investigators at SLED have described as “superficial.”

Also of interest? Murdaugh waited until a minute into the call to let the dispatcher know he had been shot …

>snip<

While Murdaugh was beside himself in the Moselle 911 calls, in the calls released from the roadside shooting he sounds completely unperturbed.

“I’m on Salkehatchie Road,” Murdaugh calmly told a Hampton county dispatcher upon being connected. “I’m by the church.”

“I got a flat tire and I stopped and somebody stopped to help me and when I turned my back they tried to shoot me,” Murdaugh continued.

“Were you shot?” the dispatcher asked.

“Yes, but I mean I’m okay,” Murdaugh responded.

“You need EMS?” the dispatcher asked.

“Well, I mean, yes … I can’t drive,” Murdaugh “And I’m bleeding a lot.”

Asked where he was wounded, Murdaugh did not initially know.

“I’m not sure – it’s somewhere on my head,” he said.

I listened to his 911 call a few minutes ago and it only makes his attorney’s version of this more laughable.
If I remember correctly his lawyers claimed these good samaritans came by and loaded AM into their car to take him to the hospital and then told him to call 911 while they were driving. Nope. In this audio clip AM was clearly on the phone with 911 when those people drove up.
He is not particularly upset. I’ve been more upset after skinning my knee than he is here after supposedly being shot in the head.

ALSO BREAKING IN MURDAUGH NEWS: Today, three
attorneys are filing bombshell motions asking the court to lock up AND recover Alex and Buster's assets.
You have to wonder if this motion was expedited by the trip to Las Vegas. I think there was a previous motion to freeze assets in the Beach lawsuit.

I don't want to pile on BM, but what massive multi-generational tone-deafness!

ETA - On a related topic, I'm so glad to see that the Satterfield sons got their money from Corey Fleming and his law firm. When I first read about the allegations I was going to post that at least Fleming was available because there are going to be MANY, MANY hands reaching for any and all Murdaugh assets. My guess is that with at least two motions to freeze assets out there, ultimately some form of trustee or receiver will have to be put in place to see who gets what. It's nice that the Satterfield sons had a separate culpable party to go after. They are surely some of the most innocent victims here along with SS's family (hard to feel bad for PMPED, etc.).
