We’ll continue to update the podcast with any new developments. It was reported earlier this week the foster mother had “sacked” her lawyer. That isn’t the case. At this stage she’ll be represented by the same lawyer who acted for her at the inquest at next week’s court hearing.

BBM

So they are team FP’s, and still in contact. FM is a little on the controlling side, yes?

So 18 months ago - they started investigating - that's May 2020. Is this new witness one of the people whose name was not disclosed during the Inquest? using a annoymous name?? Maybe its a new witness because what they saw/heard - may have originally seemed insignificant - so wasn't followed up initially. Do you think this witness has been found by Lawyers for POI who need named cleared, not from police investigation.

A common statement is that FM didn't have time to cover anything up. I disagree. For a well organized person, 25 mins is a long time. FM has stated she drove (which car) to the riding school (any witnesses?) It think when you consider it takes just 60 seconds or so to jump in and out of the car, and it is a few mins here or there, 25 mins is ample time to move a small body.
Could he have been assumed deceased by a fall by FM, dumped 8 mins away, but then regained consciousness and encountered further foul play? Just thinking about the Newcastle beach murder in the 90s (sorry can't remember the details).

William Tyrrell investigation will take MONTHS as police dig up 1km of ground in Kendall | Daily Mail Online

Interesting quote from this article…

“ “ He’ll be in there , “ a police spokesman said the scientists have told officers working on the scene. “

I wonder what is making them so sure of this…must have had a direct tip-off from someone about exact location of body for that to be an accurate statement….?

Would expect the police chiefs to be the ones who know about locations…and then the forensic scientists go and do their work where the top cop tells them to..?

My interpretation of that is, the experts are giving their opinion. In their experience of 'graves' remains are typically in the 15 - 30cm layer. If he is buried he will be in the 15-30cm layer.

Police told Daily Mail Australia on Saturday that forensic hydrologist and layers expert Professor Jon Olley and graves specialist Dr Tony Lowe had advised excavators to scrape off dirt down to a layer 15 and 30cm below the surface.

'He'll be in there,' a police spokesman said the scientists have told officers working on the scene.

Without context of whole conversations, it's hard to know if they are saying 'if there, he will be in that section' or 'he's in there'.

that's a huge issue with the reporting, there's lack of context in much of it.

Yes ..agree ..think it was the sensationalised headline stating “ he’ll be in there” without context that gives a false impression about what the scientist said..
Typical press spin as usual..

Just in terms of the new direction:

So we know the new person with evidence isn't LT as she is not new to the matter.

But they have removed her from FFC and MFC house [on account of the new information].

It follows that they've interviewed her, sought an AVO, and charged the FCs for assault.

The FGC died months ago, and her car has been collected for forensic testing now. That the car was collected at the same time LT was removed from her FCs says the new information was separate to those events, but precipitated them.

The new information is said to have come during the inquiry, and so I'm of the opinion that something raised during the inquiry alerted someone to the fact that they may have information or have been a witness, when they previously didn't believe they were.

IMO, the issues about the timing of the photo fits this because if you saw something random earlier in the morning you wouldn't have thought it was relevant given we were all told WT was alive and colouring in on the back deck at 9.30am. During the inquiry when the time tentatively opened up to 7.30am-11am then a neighbour, someone hiking, or a random passer-by might have thought 'well actually... earlier i did see something, but I discounted it because he was alive in the photo two hours later'.

IMO the search areas 'not being speculative in any way' means there was a witness, or someone had to mind a specific account of events.

I don't know that I believe the FFC and/or the MFC and FGC were involved in a coverup. The still hot tea and strange 000 call and the issues with the shoes and their timelines leads me to think yes. But everything else has me thinking it's unlikely - seemingly 'normal' people don't dispose of a child's body, make a cup of tea and then get the country riled up about said child's disappearance.

But I do think they've lied about the timeframe, and other than a cover up, I can't fathom why. In fact a kidnapping in FFC's "5 minutes" in a yard in Kendall is extremely unlikely, unless there was alot more time for it to have taken place. If FFC had sent WT down to the road to watch for dad earlier, the time it would have allowed for him to wander or be snatched would have been more easily believable. (Noting also, that they did mention this in some accounts and this is what LT said WT was doing).

I also heard on the pod cast she didn’t take her phone with her when she went on that drive. Maybe so she didn’t get tracked? Why didn’t she mention it on the day?

Just read daily mail story by Iddle William Tyrrell case explained by Australia's greatest detective Rod Iddles | Daily Mail Online

2 interesting points
1. so new info gave from someone that was not interviewed- wondering who that person could be - sounds like some confided in much later -maybe nurse who heard friend of FA give some info about picking him & child up or someone else we don’t know ??
2. Maybe body was moved several times , and then back to former house of FG …. why would someone do that ? to keep eye on it ? Make sure it is not found … the house was sold - and FP have no more connection to house ??So would need to be someone stilL Living in area ??so they can see it hadn’t been disturbed ??

I keep coming back to motive ???

Didn't the FM sibling visit during the initial search period (picked them up from the airport). Maybe they recalled something?

The FM talks about finding the washing machine in pieces and unusable because the repair guy (BS) needed to source a part to complete the job. FM then rings BS to ask when he will have the part. She complains to her mother that she needs to use the machine. (I got the strong impression at that point that the FM can be quite impatient and bossy). She said that her mother replied along the lines of: "That's the way it is up here. When it comes, it comes."

RSBM and BBM

Super sorry if this has been covered already. Got a lot of catching up to do.
Do we have a confirmed source for the bolded?
If this is true, then why in all that is bloomin' does someone who only arrived the night before need to use the washing machine? Didn't arrive with clean clothes? No spares? Someone wet the bed? Can't do a regular soak and hand wash in the laundry basin?

I also heard on the pod cast she didn’t take her phone with her when she went on that drive. Maybe so she didn’t get tracked? Why didn’t she mention it on the day?
I wonder if suggestion of FFC having a second phone is relevant? Perhaps she didn’t take her known phone with her on the drive, but maybe she took the second one? Could the new witness have given information about the existence of a second phone which has now led to investigations around the location of that phone on the morning of WT’s disappearance? IMO
