When I looked at his related Instagram account (found through his twitter link below), seems wiped clean. Instagram accounts of friends also seem wiped clean (also linked through his twitter acct). Might he have done that after backing the vehicle onto a private property, as though ready for a quick get-away?

There was a mass murderer in New Zealand a couple of years ago, who had a long social media history of anti-social thinking. This isn't socialism, democrat or republican thinking. It's not woke thinking. It's thinking that some types of people should be erased. This man killed families, children and people from the Church. How will people feel about hosting the Christmas Parade next year? How many marching bands will feel safe participating. This mass murder will reverberate socially.

Accelerating 40 MPH through a Christmas Parade, driving over people playing the tuba, killing and permanently mangling people in their musical instruments, that's not a reaction to a stabbing elsewhere. Is that extreme right thinking ... to strike family and religious values in their small town homes?

What decision is behind this massacre?

I don't think it matters that many of the victims were church members. What matters is that an individual trying to evade arrest mowed down numerous people without any thought to the humanity he was erasing. He could have killed a convict detail, homeless people camped on a sidewalk, or a group of kids riding their bikes across a sidewalk. He didn't give a damn. Self preservation was paramount. I don't believe there was any social construct going on in his mind.

I cannot get one of the videos out of my head. The pure hideousness of this act! A little one is bouncing and jumping up and down, with all the joy and excitement of Christmas and a parade.....and this miscreant ( with a huge criminal record ) decides to go ZOOMING into the crowd at 40 mph. The Terror !!! What a world we live in.

THIS. I have many friends who were at the parade - one high school friend's seven year old son was almost hit while picking up candy - and everyone who was there said the same thing: that things happened so fast there was likely no targeting or "choosing" specific groups to attack based on social conditions etc. He didn't "choose" Xtreme or WSHS for specific reasons. They just happened to be marching in line near each other on the route.

Agree. Yet, I still feel angry. He may not have been targeting a specific group, but he had no regard for ANYONE. This wasn’t a medical event, nor a vehicle malfunction. He apparently was eluding police. He has a 50 page rap sheet, his social media is filled with diatribe. His race, age, music choices don’t factor into my feelings. He’s just generally not a guy that elicits any empathy from me.

Criminal History?
@elleymae Thx for your post w link.*
I've just skimmed several pages of his and not really analyzed the charges. But even if they were all relatively minor (which they are not), and if only one charge per page (which they are not)
...................................50 pages! w charges from 3 counties & 3 cities. This "amateur rapper"** sure got around.

As a burnt-out public defender friend said, "Everyone deserves an eleventh chance. Or they think they do."

He won’t get another chance. Look at the mass tragedy in 2015 where a woman plowed into the crowd at an Oklahoma homecoming parade, killing 4 and injuring dozens of people. She was sentenced to 4 concurrent life sentences.
Six years ago today: Fatal OSU homecoming parade crash

The attorney representing #DarrellBrooks on several outstanding charges in Milwaukee tells us he is not and will not represent Brooks in connection with the #Waukesha County incident.

"Our hearts are broken for all families affected by the tragedy at the Waukesha Parade," attorney Joe Domask says. "The Waukesha community is dear to our hearts here, and we joined in their sorrow. And we keep all those affected by this incident in our thoughts and prayers."
