Dear God, protect little Frank as You lead him home to his loved ones. Amen.

Lows in the area are around -6C/21F, I don't think the little guy would make it without shelter overnight. Hopefully he's at someone's house and they just haven't realized he's considered missing yet. There's still a 'it takes a village to raise a child' mindset in a lot of Indigenous communities. Best case scenario, there's a kokum feeding an extra kid unaware everyone's looking for him!

Edit note: This is a week off from school here (the week after Easter is always holidays) so kids will be running around everywhere without a school schedule.

5-year-old Sask. boy missing, plane will assist in search | CTV News
''In the time the boy has been missing, a winter weather system moved through the province bringing snow, wind and frigid temperatures.

"The search will continue until Frank is found, that's the main objective,"
Red Earth Vice Chief Barry McKay said during a virtual news conference held Wednesday afternoon.

"We do feel the pressure."

"Winter weather conditions are a concern at this time, including the possibility of snow, wind and low temperatures overnight," RCMP said in a news release sent late Tuesday night.

Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Frank was possibly spotted at the local playground, RCMP said in the release.

Community members, volunteer search and rescue organizations and Saskatchewan RCMP officers were actively looking for the boy Wednesday morning.

The search included door-to-door inquiries, according to police.

According to posts shared on the local government's Facebook page, video drones were flown the community's bushline on Tuesday in an attempt to locate the boy.''

Members of the community are being asked to stay inside during the aerial search in the hopes that it will make it easier to spot the boy.''

A large-scale search continues for 5-year-old Frank Young in and around Red Earth Cree Nation.

"It's cold and snowy and this is a very young child, so we are very concerned. The Saskatchewan RCMP and partner agencies, together with the local community, continue to tirelessly search for Frank," says Sgt. Richard Tonge of the Carrot River RCMP. "We are searching in the community, where Frank was last seen yesterday, including a large rural area outside of the community, which includes heavily treed areas as well as bodies of water. Efforts include using everything from all-terrain vehicles and boats to thermal imaging, on-foot grid searches and more."

An RCMP plane with a thermal camera will perform an aerial search of the area later today.

Investigators continue to ask anyone who sees any sign of Frank to call 911 or call the Carrot River RCMP immediately at 306-768-1200.''

RCMP looking for missing five-year-old boy in northeast Saskatchewan | The Star
''CARROT RIVER, Sask. - Mounties in Saskatchewan say a missing five-year-old boy from the Red Earth Cree Nation does not appear to be abducted and the case doesn’t fit the criteria for an Amber Alert.

Carrot River RCMP in northeastern Saskatchewan say Frank Young was last seen Tuesday afternoon on the reserve.''

Police dogs and an underwater search team joined the ongoing hunt Thursday for a five-year-old boy in northern Saskatchewan who hasn’t been seen in three days.

Frank Young was last seen Tuesday playing in his family’s yard near Carrot River wearing his Paw Patrol rubber boots, green dinosaur pyjamas, and a windbreaker.

“We are expanding our search all over the community,” said Barry McKay, vice-chief of the Red Earth Cree First Nation, who was out in the field.

Is it too soon to ask questions about who else was home with him, and when was the last time he was seen by others outside of home?

His Easter picture at school shows him looking happy, healthy, clean and well dressed---so I am not suspicious of his home life---just wondering what was going on during school vacation. Who was watching him then?

Had to do Facebook sleuthing to find out answer to who was watching him. Not a lot of info out there, hope more details come out in the media so we can talk about it.

Mods, there's a post on the official Facebook page for the community that references the local radio station that has a post about who Frank's parents are and who was watching him. Because it's posts of posts I'm erring on the side of caution and not linking it, but since it's a Facebook page ran by the local government is it a safe source? The rules say LE and MSM Facebook pages are allowed but nothing about government/administration.

Searchers along the coastline of the river.

''While the search has gotten support from across the province, Red Earth council member, Zachary Whitecap spoke of the sense of community locally, as searchers work to find the missing 5-year-old.

“We come together as a community, both Red Earth and Shoal Lake are a community, we’re strong in our love, in our guidance and helping each other as a community,” Whitecap said.

A province-wide “vulnerable person” alert was extended, asking people to keep an eye out for Frank and for people in the area to continue searching their properties.

Officials say the search will go on until the child is found.''
