I think Tom's Girl was asking about fire danger to your Yucaipa properties. As far as I know, Yucaipa is still upwind of the fires currently burning.
Oh I just start yapping and then go off in my own world.
I started out trying to make the distinction between houses "going up" (flammable with sticks in the air) and inventory houses, (those that are done.)
But once I got going i forgot to answer the original question which you have now done.:bang:

News conference: the fire that started on the La Jolla reservation this morning has already grown to 3,000 acres and is establishing itself on Palomar Mountain.

Due to the decreased humidity even from yesterday, the "burnability factor" of all the fires is extremely high, making the fires more dangerous and harder to contain.

Oh, goodness, it just gets worse.
Prayers to all the firefighters.

Watching those helicopers on Fox .........what heroes they are.
So windy, smokey.........Amazing.....dippng into the water, heading out.
Huggs for the Blackhawks.........

You are posting while driving, no? I'm very impressed (and concerned)!

An elderly person died this morning (I think at Escondido High School) when his assisted living facility had to evacuate, and they placed him in the gym with no air conditioning.

Two county hospitals have been evacuated.

I'll bet Love Mama's been evacuated- inland Del Mar and La Jolla are out of their homes.

This is all so unusual. San Diego usually has some wildfires - but nothing like this. It's a combination of a huge lack of rainfall and dryer than usual weather, drying out all the underbrush, and a very unusual Santa Ana - lasting for multiple days (normally it's just one), and very strong. Put that together, and the slightest spark creates a wildfire.

The people who talk about why we live in a wildfire zone then get upset by fires - this normally isn't a wildfire zone. Santa Anas are pushing a normal little brushfire that normally would char some wild acres and be easily put out when it got to houses, into an enourmous conflaguration that cannot be stopped, moving fast, jumping 10 lane freeways, uncontrollable.

That's the one. I pass it every morning to and from work.
That's where 2 of my boys USED to live. Did your coworker get ripped off by the owners of the apts too? They promised my kids 28 days in a hotel and then pulled the rug after about 10.

Wildfire: The latest on the Santiago fire

A dozen firefighters had to use the protective fire shelters they carry with them after the fire charged toward them early this morning, fire officials announced. All 12 firefighters are OK and accounted for. - 12:27 p.m.

ocregister.com

from your link:

Firefighters expected no break from the winds fueling the fires until midday Thursday, said Harvey Johnson, deputy administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
At least 17 wildfires have scorched about 425 square miles from north of Los Angeles to southeast of San Diego since the weekend. Three of those fires were added to the list Tuesday.
Supervisor Ron Roberts said Tuesday about 1,000 homes have been destroyed in San Diego County alone.

Fallbrook
The entire city of Fallbrook has been ordered to evacuate. At least 100 structures have burned in that area. At last report the Fallbrook fire is moving east toward De Luz Road.

Escondido
Evacuations have been ordered in Escondido from Via Rancho Parkway North to Hamilton and west to Valley Parkway. Evacuations are also issued for northeast Escondido in Mountain View north to Citrus, then up to Bear Valley Parkway to Lake Wohlford.

The La Jolla Indian Reservation
A Mandatory Evacuation order has been issued for the La Jolla Indian Reservation near Palomar Mountain. A structure fire that spread to brush has burned approximately 150 acres so far. Several structures have burned in the area near SR 76. Area residents should evacuate to Harrah's Casino.

Del Mar
A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for the following areas within the City of Del Mar:
All areas east of Crest Road
San Dieguito Road
Oribia Road
Avenida Primavera (along Crest Road)
Serpentine Drive
Gatun Street
Balboa Avenue
Zapo Street

Other areas of the city have not been issued a mandatory evacuation order. However, it has been strongly suggested that all residents pack necessary belongings and be prepared to evacuate if a mandatory order is issued. Del Mar residents who are unable to self-evacuate should call 858-704-3694.

Solana Beach
A voluntary evacuation is strongly recommended for the following areas within the City of Solana Beach:
All areas east of Interstate 5
Areas along the north border of the city, between I-5 and Highway 101

Rancho Bernardo
Please be advised that the mandatory evacuation of the Rancho Bernardo area remains in effect. If residents of that area have an urgent need to retrieve medications only that will be facilitated by the SDPD officers at the various traffic posts in the area. Individuals must be escorted by SDPD officers. This does not include retrieving personal items. Medications ONLY.

Wildcat Canyon and Muth Valley
The Lakeside Fire Department sent out a request of reverse 911 calls at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday for all of Wildcat Canyon and Muth Valley south to Willow Road. Evacuations are mandatory. Evacuees are directed to Santana High School.

Chula Vista
The Chula Vista Police Department has issued a mandatory evacuation order for the San Miguel Ranch neighborhood north and east of Mt. Miguel Road. South Bay evacuees can take shelter in the Casa Familiar Civic and Recreational Center at 212 East Park Ave. in San Ysidro. Casa Familiar can house 400 evacuees and has bilingual volunteers ready to assist both English- and Spanish-speaking evacuees. For more information, call (619) 428-1115.

The Chula Vista Police Department has issued a mandatory evacuation order for the Rolling Hills Ranch development, north of Proctor Valley Road and east of Mount Miguel Road, due to the advancing Harris Fire. Evacuees from the area are being directed to a shelter at Chula Vista High School, 820 Fourth Ave.

Fairbanks Ranch
A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for 1,197 households in the Fairbanks Ranch community due to the Witch fire, according to the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services. Displaced residents are being asked to go to the Encinitas Senior Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive or Carlsbad High School, 3557 Lancer Way.

550,000 people ordered evacuated.

If you take the combined populations of three evacuated cities- Rancho Bernardo, Ramona and Fallbrook, that is absolutely huge!

Bringing this over as I wasn't able to reply to Nova as thread was closed......

No, I wasn't inquiring about fire danger there, I now it's okay. What concerned me was that I knew JBean had business dealings in that area.

OT- Isn't Yucaipa in northern Los Angeles? If so, my former in-laws had an aunt and uncle who lived there. I don't remember it as being a very nice place to live.
