Madeleine McCann: German prisoner identified as suspect #30

Just freedom of the press IMO.

Still interested in the fact, who pays for the work of CB's both solicitors. Seems like as there would be a very infamous one staying in the background and some kind of "puppet" is doing the "wet work".

CB himself? Third parties? Or are they working pro bono? Not yet sure about, which possibility will be able to give me the best chills, because both of them do not seem to be depending from the notoriety of this case...
Did the freedom of the press come suddenly? JR kept calling him Christian B throughout. Is it just a matter of preference?

It is possible the fees will be funded under the German legal aid system, which would mean the German taxpayers would be footing the bill.
Wow, who would have thought that!
Let's get cracking (and find out who is paying for these British lawyers).

Why , What purpose would that serve ?
It seems reasonable that he should receive legal representation when potentially faced with such serious charges
Finding the identity of the financial backers might be more interesting, unless it's done by crowd funding.

Its possible to have legal aid in in England and Wales if not of that nationality. This was last amended in 2020 . Just because we have left the EU imo that does not make a difference, the UK would soon find itself at the ECHR , again imo.

There are no nationality or residence tests.

But aren't the financial backers and the client(s) who will pay the lawyers fees one and the same? That was my thought .....

Oh sorry, I thought it was the lawyers you were trying to 'out'. I very much doubt Brueckner can afford to pay his legal fees.

Regardless of what anything thinks about CB, there have been numerous and imo quite serious breaches of good law practice by the German police in the way this case has been conducted from the off, so it's not surprising that a firm of (I'd guess) human rights lawyers has been engaged. It may even be on a pro-bono basis, who knows?

CB has the right to a fair trial should he ever be charged with any and/or all the crimes he's alleged to have committed.

BBM.
Sorry Anxala, could you clarify what you mean here? What breaches?

Guess he'd better get to the back the queue for his 'human rights' complaints IMO. But hey, at least HE now has an "approximate insight into the hopeless situation of the Jews, or in general, of the minorities in the Second World War."

My concern is the human rights of the children who may have featured in the HUGE haul of child abuse material found at the box factory, DM's human rights and the ex GF's daughter's human rights and the lifetime of suffering, stress and anxiety it will bring to all these victims, their families and their futures.

Sickening.

Interesting the child abuse images are mentioned again, is it not but an allegation that some were found ? MWT in his recent docu for CH5 made an interesting point that there is no evidence of charges in the system which was strange seeing as the alleged images were of abuse.

The Mail back in 2020,

German police have allegedly discovered more than 8,000 images and videos on USB sticks and hard drives which were buried in a deserted factory belonging to Brueckner.

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner's 'secret lair'

No, it's not "but an allegation", it's been confirmed by numerous legal sources and never once refuted by CB or his legal team.

Regarding MWT's bafflement of why he hasn't been prosecuted over the specific haul from the box factory, that seems down to yet more poor research on the part of MWT. HCW has already explained it is due to the double jeopardy law because CB had already been prosecuted for possesion of CP files when they searched his computer in 2014. This was after his ex-gf reported him for abusing her daughter and he was prosecuted for that offence as well as for other CP content on his devices.

From JC's interview with HCW:

But they were the force that got the search warrant in Neuwegersleben, where they did indeed find child *advertiser censored*.’

This was where the problems began, because among the 8,000-plus images and videos they found in early 2016 was the series of Anja P’s daughter. ‘They were the same files we used to prosecute him over and that is why he could not be sentenced again. In Germany, if you get charged for one thing, you can’t be sentenced for the same thing.

‘It was basically impossible for us to prove that when his flat was searched in Braunschweig he didn’t already also have all those photos in Neuwegersleben. So we ended up only charging him for a small proportion of the material he already had.’ He admitted Brueckner had been ‘incredibly lucky’ as if he had not already been sentenced in Braunschweig on the far fewer files, ‘we would have been able to sentence him for all these files in Neuwegersleben. He would have got a higher sentence.’

From what HCW explains, it sounds like police could not date any of the files as being acquired by CB post 2014 and therefore, it is effectively the same offence for which he was already convicted, albeit missing a large part of the evidence which (if it was discovered at the time) would have likely yielded him a longer sentence.

It is laughable imo to suggest that CB's human rights have been breached. He has NO human rights lawyers engaged. The only lawsuit that has been processed was also laughable against a journalist (JR) who alleged CB treated his dogs badly. If there were any good law practices breached by the PROSECUTOR and not the police as you say(!) I am sure his lawyers would have done something 2 years now. But they have done nothing, null, zero. So the question is: why have they not taken the prosecutors to court if they have done as you say?

So its fairly safe to say, given the dates , there were none of Madeleine which some like to speculate there were .
2016 the raid , 2017 CB only came to the police's attention again because of contact to OG by an old friend who was allegedly told of a crime back in 2008 , not because of any images coming to light.

There were also unlikely to have been any on his computer in 2014 .

As you can imagine such videos and photos are very very vile. Officers going through them need lots of time and more importantly psychological support as they go through them. So it is not safe to assume anything. We just do not know what they have found in this stash of thousands of vile videos and photos

Indeed but to identify one specific child amongst them , in all likelihood is not what they look for, more the perpetrators and evidenced to bring them to trial .Now if we go back to the post from Dlk, does the double jeopardy apply to all the images on his CP .

The first search was in Jan 2016.
There were further searches after that date.

HB first contacted OG in May 2016.

Bolded bit, 2017 after the 10 yr appeal wasn't it.

Police said that significant information regarding the man had emerged after investigators made an appeal in May 2017, the 10th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance.

Obviously the May 2016 was a typo. The fact remains though that the first search in the box factory was in January 2016 - and there were others after that
