up - if anyone sees anything "new" on this case. I'm still getting old articles.

TIA if you find something! :)

The latest article I could find is for April 8, 2022 - but it just mentions she is on trial - nothing else.

April 8, 2022
.....
Irmgard Furchner, the first woman to be put on trial for Nazi crimes in decades, was secretary to a camp commander in 1943–45 and is accused of being accessory to more than 10,000 systematic murders. She is on trial in Itzehoe. Her lawyer, Wolf Molkentin, says Furchner, who was 18 at the time, was not aware of the true nature of what went on.

@ZaZara - do you have any better luck then me in finding something more current? TIA!!

The trial was interrupted for 8 weeks because she was ill.
The latest that I can find is that the trial has resumed and they had to stop after 2 hours because both the defendant (96) and the witness (95) were exhausted. This was one June 7.

Germany at its very best!

Still shaking my head over this one. She is now 97, and had to be charged as a juvenile.

I highly recommend The House on Garibaldi Street certainly the book and at least one movie version to get an idea of the work of finding & bringing Nazi leaders to trial for their war crimes.

(If you're more into fiction and like to be scared, The Boys From Brazil is another good book.)

@ZaZara - finding anything on the closing arguments from yesterday? I sure am not...

TIA if you find something!
