I'm sorry if this has been answered 100 times before, but per the timeline KR's mom says they live in a lodge south of town. What is a lodge?
Imagine a ski lodge, a ski resort, a rustic "hotel" in the woods where you, the owners live there, and also have a building where rooms are available for your customers to rent for their vacation stays. They tend to call it a "lodge" when it's in the woods.

Yes, yes, you are correct. Apologies for the error, appreciate you catching that, it’s an important detail. Too late to edit.

At around 14:57, he says they have video from the day before, at 6 pm, showing Kiely at the store. That would have been Friday evening.
Not to be pedantic but....He said 6'oclock. Not am or pm. I'm assuming it was 6 pm. but you never know!

Much more eloquent way with words than I! Lol! I read it in my twilight zone voice!

8/5/2221:45Kiely arrives to partySamantha Smith reportedThe Independent
8/5/22Attends Party“We have been close friends since before, so we ended up meeting up with each other, sort of screaming to each other ‘Hi!’ For the rest of the party we pretty much stuck to each other,” Samantha told The Independent. But as the gathering grew bigger, the teenagers went separate ways while continuing to see each other sporadically throughout the party.

“I knew it was a big party but it was supposed to be just the community …The party started to grow past the [number] of people that were supposed to be there,” Samantha said.

“There were college kids and people from the Bay area coming and I got a bad feeling about it but didn’t really think much of it.”
The Independent
Witnesses and law enforcement say there were anywhere from 200 to 250 teenagers and young adults in attendance.KCRA
There were 200-300 juveniles at the party, which was in a wooded area, Musallam said in a news conference Tuesday, and "someone knows something."CNN
Smith, 18, said that there were plenty of attendees whom she had not previously met but none who seemed suspicious, gave unwanted attention or followed the pair around.

She said she didn’t notice anyone much older and that the party consisted mainly of teens, recent graduates and some college students from the surrounding areas. Some came from as far away as San Francisco, she said, but that was not unusual because the area is a summer vacation town.
"We met a few strangers together," she said. "We both tended to trust people. I say ‘tended to’ because now I don’t think I will continue to trust people. But she’ll give anyone the benefit of the doubt."

Rodni had enough drinks to become drunk, according to her friend and another recent graduate, Sami Smith, who added that she did not believe the teen would have driven under the circumstances.

"At the point when I left, I thought she was going to stay there," said Smith, who departed the campground just a few minutes before Rodni was last seen. "Everybody was camping. It was late enough that she should have stayed. She’s not the type to go and drunk drive or anything."

"For the amount of drinks we both had together, she’s not that dumb," she added. "I remember we were partying together. She was having fun. She seemed really happy — she was like normal, just on an adrenaline rush. Saying ‘Hi’ to everybody.

What about this quote?? I didn’t see it listed.

“Within the only 10 minutes I was there, I literally had a group of five guys, try to come get me to take as many bong rips as I could forcefully, without my boyfriend present,”

Magdalene Larson, Keily’s best friend, said.

“There was a lot of guys that did approach us,” Smith said. “Definitely, I was getting a gut feeling that during that party that something, something just didn’t feel right with the amount of people that were there and how old some of these people were.”

Brilliant work.....and appreciate the time put into it. Thank y

I am only speculating, but from my awareness of Truckee/Tahoe as a weekend getaway, I suspect that the out-of-towners being mentioned as coming to this party -- from Reno, Grass Valley, Sacto, Bay Area etc -- are probably folks from those places who were in Truckee or Tahoe for the weekend anyway, and heard about the party and decided to attend. As opposed to people who drove for multiple hours specifically to go to a high school farewell party.

Only a guess and MOO
That makes sense!
Although I can’t imagine being on vacation with the family and my teen asks to borrow the car to drive down dark unfamiliar roads to hang out in the woods with unknown people. Ummm. Nope.

On the ball as usual! Was just looking for that in MSM so I could post the image. Looks even more beautiful covered in snow.

From the same article this is an image of the campground where the party was.

I figured it would look dark like this with some car lights.

I just realized something! Depending on where her car was parked - if it was parked behind the lights and behind other cars wouldn’t she have to turn her phone on to get the flashlight on the phone lit up to find her way back to the car and put keys in the door??

VERY dark to me the pics.

I have been in this situation before at a campground and l couldn’t see a thing without my cell phone back light…

Her phone never turned back on - makes me keep leaning in the direction of abduction.

A lodging, basically a mountain or rural-style hotel.

AUG 9

The next morning, Rodni-Nieman woke up and realized that Kiely still wasn't home.

"I called her and sent her texts, too, and she didn't answer," she said. "That's when I knew something was wrong."

Rodni-Nieman told ABC News it's not likely Kiely ran away since all of her things are at home, adding that "it was already so out of character" that Kiely didn't respond to any of her worried messages.

It cooled off enough to head for run. There were a ton of S&R on my loop yesterday… trucks have been all over today too. I normally don’t run with a phone… but I’ll bring it tonight. I’ll try and take a few pics….

Thanks Troc! There it is.

Also, if she was planning on camping for the weekend and supposed to meet her friends at 9 am, was she already packed? Did she have everything already in her car ready to go especially if SS said she thought she was staying at the campsite.
