IA IA - Jodi Huisentruit, 27, Anchorwoman, Mason City, 27 June 1995 #2

The Mason City PD has established themselves as the sole clearinghouse for leads, and refuses to follow up on leads that don't fit their narrative. Check this out. ‎Up and Vanished: Jodi Huisentruit on Apple Podcasts
Interesting. But UAV was loose with some facts. For example, they suggested that John Lessard 'gave' the Miata to Jodi and was spending time with Jodi. Lessard is supposedly on record stating that the only time he ever saw Jodi was when he handed her the keys to the Miata that she had purchased (supposedly) from him. I know of no evidence that the Miata was a gift, and no evidence that Lessard had socialized with Jodi - other than a comment on a findjodi.com message board from someone claiming to be from Lessard's home town of Osage, Iowa and claiming that it was common knowledge there that Lessard and Jodi were then spending time together. However, it would be very interesting to know details of the transaction, especially how Jodi financed the purchase - whether the seller financed it, a bank financed it, Jodi's mom lent her the money, Jodi stroked a check, or what. The car apparently still had Lessard's plates on it when it was towed from the Key Apts lot after Jodi disappeared. Also, most sellers don't let the buyer drive around with the seller's plates, esp. for 3 weeks. Might be interesting to see the hardcopy title, which would presumably have been signed off by the seller. Presumably that hardcopy would have wound up with Jodi's mom. Wouldn't surprise me if the purchase of the car had something to do with Jodi's disappearance. It had been acquired just 3 weeks prior to disappearance. And she was attacked right next to it, apparently while trying to enter it. But MCPD would certainly have easily solved the case if it was that simple, some sort of dispute over a used car purchase/sale. Right?

Or had Jodi removed the plates from her old vehicle and put them on the newly acquired vehicle - the Miata? If so, she was not driving around with the seller's - Lessard's - plates for 3 weeks.

Here is link to a site with photo of vehicle and plates - Iowa PMP 325. Check out some of the twisted info provided

When Jodi Huisentruit didn’t show up for her job as a morning anchor at KIMT-TV on June 27, 1995, her producer didn’t worry. She called Huisentruit, who answered, apologized, and said she was running late. But Huisentruit never came in.

Before long, it became clear that something horrible had happened to the 27-year-old as she rushed out of her apartment. Police, asked by KIMT-TV to conduct a welfare check, found Huisentruit’s belongings scattered around her Mazda Miata, including the bent car key.

Who was following her in the white truck? Did they see where she lived, know who she was, were they stalking her?
