We’re renewing an appeal for information to help us find missing 43-year-old woman Denise Jarvis.

Denise was last seen on the evening of Wednesday 3 August in the area of Southey Park, in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire.

Denise has not been in contact with her family or friends since this date and we’re very concerned for her welfare.

Det Insp Ben Lavender said: “It’s been more than three months since anyone last saw or heard from Denise, which is of great concern.

“A missing person investigation is continuing and we’re carrying out a full review of all the actions and enquiries which have taken place since August, to ensure no stone is left unturned in our efforts to find Denise.

“Within the past few days we’ve carried out further expert-led co-ordinated searches in the South Gloucestershire area, and more searches are planned.

“Denise is described as white, she has long blonde hair and was last seen wearing a navy floral dress, a green sleeveless puffer-style jacket and white shoes. Denise also has links with Reading and Stourport, and has an interest in narrowboats.

  • Have you seen or spoken with Denise since Wednesday 3 August?
  • Do you know where she may be?
  • Have you any other information which would help us find her?
  • Were you in the area of Southey Park on the evening of Wednesday August 3, or the following day – do you have any mobile phone, dashcam or CCTV footage, which could help?
“We also want to make a direct appeal to Denise to get in touch. Our message is:

‘Your family are very worried about you and only want to know that you’re safe. Please get in touch with us, or with one of your loved ones, as soon as you can, so we can get you any support or help you need’.

If you know where Denise is, please call 999 quoting reference 5222186376, or call 101 with any other information.

This is the first time that I have seen mention of Denise's interest in narrowboats. I wonder if she has taken off for a new life on the canals. As @dotr mentioned some time ago, there seems to be very little in the way of additional information about Denise.

The lack of additional details puzzle me.
We really need to know a a little bit of background information. Family, relationships, job, mental and financial states etc.

I would like some coverage for Denise.
Nice fresh lengthy link, thank you!

''Her family said they just wanted to know the "highly intelligent, bright and beautiful" woman was okay.
Her mother Bernadette Lake told BBC Radio Bristol she had searched a wide area around Kingswood the night her daughter went missing and had put posters up in the local area since to publicise her disappearance.
"We want her just to say that she's OK. Even if it's just to put a note through the door to say 'I'm Ok Mum'," she said.

"I want to find our daughter - that's all."
Police say Ms Jarvis, who studied at the University of the West of England (UWE), has not used her phone or bank account since the day she was last seen.''

"Enquiries are very much continuing and there will be further searches conducted, as we do everything we can to find out what happened to Denise.
"In addition, we're continuing to review phone and communications data, as well as past financial transactions, and are speaking with all known relatives, friends and associates of Denise."

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Denise Jarvis, who’s been missing from Kingswood for more than six months, continue to appeal for the public’s help.

Denise, 44, was last seen on the evening of Wednesday 3 August in the area of Southey Park, in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire.

Since then, a thorough investigation has seen officers complete more than 700 actions and speak to around 70 of Denise’s contacts in the hope of finding her.

Extensive searches of the area where she was last seen have also been carried out, as well as other intelligence and POLSA-led searches, some of which have involved the use of police divers while CCTV from the area has also been reviewed.

Detective Inspector Ben Lavender, the senior investigating officer, said: “We remain extremely concerned about the welfare of Denise.

“She has not been in contact with her family or friends since 3 August, and there is currently no evidence of her using a phone or accessing her bank account since this date.

“During the course of our inquiry we have reviewed dozens of hours of CCTV. While unfortunately we have not located any footage of her since she went missing, we have retrieved some from the days and weeks before.

“A CCTV image we’re releasing of Denise from 26 July shows the coat she was wearing when she was seen in Southey Park – a grey, thigh-length, sleeveless coat.

“We don’t expect people to remember seeing Denise six months ago but if seeing her coat does help jog someone’s memory then I urge them to get in touch.”

DI Lavender added: “Enquiries are very much continuing and there will be further searches conducted, as we do everything we can to find out what happened to Denise.

“In addition, we’re continuing to review phone and communications data, as well as past financial transactions, and are speaking with all known relatives, friends and associates of Denise.

“We did have a report of a recent sighting of Denise in Kingswood, which we are following up, and we’d encourage anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible. We’d ask people to contact us direct with all sightings, so we can follow them up as soon as possible.

“If you know where Denise is, please call 999 quoting reference 5222186376, or call 101 with any other information.

“We have also launched an online portal featuring our appeal, which will allow people to send information direct to officers working on this investigation. You can access the portal through this link: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk)
