I am starting to feel like we're moving into a new era of criminal investigation where CCTV everywhere is making it impossible to hide. Major cases that seemed like they would be hard to solve are cracked with CCTV (both personal and professional). JMO based on the focus of the "white elantra" in this case; the car in Mollie Tibbetts' case; the FedEx driver in a recent case this month.
Yes especially with Ring doorbells, bus cameras and dashboard cameras, the Sarah Everard case in the UK was solved because of these types of camera footage. Although this recent TV series added in a new dimension with the whole deep fake risks :

Apparently, he's a student at WSU and that's not far from Moscow. I'm assuming he's been to Moscow a few times.

I'm assuming he had been to U of I many times. I wonder what his major might be.

He is an older student (or semi-student, remains to be seen). I am so relieved. And so proud of LE.
