I don't have the link anymore. I hope I remember correctly that Rogan told Maggie's family that he believed Alex was at the kennels on the night of the murders at the time of the murders. Because Alex denied it, Maggie's family didn't believe Rogan until after Sept 4 (flat tire day?). After Alex faked his murder attempt (to reinforce his boat crash vigilante story), only then did Maggie's family suspect Alex, and it was after April 2022 that investigators had proof.

According to RG's testimony, AM was present when RG made the statement to MM's parents he heard AM during his call with PM, and AM did not object. I don't think it accurate to state MM's parents did not believe RG.

On June 7, 2021, Gibson said he talked to Paul around lunchtime and they talked about planting sunflowers in the dove field.

They talked again later that day, at 8:40 p.m. At that point, something seemed wrong with Cash's tail.

Gibson said he thought he heard Alex in the background of the call with Paul at that time. He told a law enforcement officer, and confirmed in court, he was 99% sure he heard Alex's voice.

Later in the week after the murders, Gibson said he spent a lot of time at Moselle with the family. Maggie's mother "Grandmar" asked him about what happened that night and he said he talked to Paul on the phone, heard Maggie in the background, and male voice in the background he thought was Alex. Alex was in the room and didn't object at the time, Gibson said.

There is an inmate classification system that uses several metrics to determine where the inmate will spend the rest of their sentence and which custody level they need. The corrections department also takes into account what facilities may be best equipped to deal with the inmates, including providing educational opportunities and addiction treatment services.

The evaluation is expected to take about 45 days.
Once that's over, he'll be taken to another maximum security prison. However, any inmate who goes there could have the opportunity to be transferred to a lower custody level if they have good behavior and meet other qualifications.

I wonder how the Pundit class will reconcile their handwringing over the prosecution 'blunders' and flawed trial strategy with the rapid verdict?

Especially i find it hard to reconcile some of the coverage with the fact that apparently only 2 jurors were not convinced before retiring, and they were convinced seemingly after only an hour or 2 of deliberating?

Maybe the strategy was perfect for low information jurors who hadn't spent the last years following the case in detail

e.g establishing AM as a crooked lawyer was crucial to derailing the main plank of the defence

But legal experts say it was ultimately a costly maneuver for the scion of the well-connected Murdaugh clan, which prosecuted crime for three successive generations across the state’s rural low country.

“Being a skilled attorney, I think he thought he could outsmart the jurors, attorney and legal affairs commentator Areva Martin said.

On Friday, one week after Murdaugh, 54, spent hours on the witness stand trying to convince a jury of his innocence, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of his wife and son.

“He had to testify. There were too many lies,” CNN legal analyst Joey Jackson said Saturday. “Obviously the jury felt that he was conning them.”

Murdaugh’s biggest lie perhaps was denying for a year and half that he was anywhere near his wife, Maggie, and 22-year-old son, Paul, when they were fatally shot on the family’s Islandton property on June 7, 2021.

On the stand, Murdaugh maintained he didn’t kill them but found their bodies after returning from a brief visit to his sick mother that night.

A key piece of evidence came from Paul Murdaugh, who recorded a video moments before he was gunned down and killed. It showed a family dog near the kennels on the property. It also captured his father’s voice in the background, placing Alex Murdaugh at the scene of the crime.

Watching 48 Hours updated episode including an interview with Buster's godmother Ms. Price and another friend and both indicate they were shocked to see reports alleging MM met with a divorce lawyer.

Ms. Price reports that MM's sister contacted her to ask if MM had ever confided in her about any marital problems because MM told her (MP) everything, and this allegation was news to her.

No evidence supporting the allegations presented at trial.

Why were the murder weapons not found? I'm sure this was discussed, but I'm just coming around to this.
Presumably, AM took them away from the kennels and secreted them sometime during the travels to and from Mom's house. But, how could have he been so effective in hiding them? Did a conspirator take them away from the scene? I presume LE extended every effort. Somebody please help me! I'm sure excellent WS thought has been applied.
All I've heard is speculation that AM first hid them somewhere on his mother's property and that he or someone else later moved/hid them elsewhere. JMO.

1) The murder weapons were never found
2) No DNA was used to establish any pertinent identities: In fact MM had skin and hair on one of her hands and to my recall, we do not know now who it belonged to....
3) There was no fingerprint evidence used at trial, though some may recall that a fingerprint specialist was named as a discovery witness
4) Despite the outdoor scene, no footprints of anyone save the victims was introduced at trial.

So WSleuthers a little constructive challenge: What else belongs on the list? And can we maintain a numbered list?
No GSR on AM No blood spatter on AM . No tire tracks preserved if there were any?

Slowly raising my hand… I fit the juror description, and the strategy worked for me.

They had me with the kennel video, and AM did himself in by putting himself on the stand to admit he lied about being there. Timeline was too tight to be anyone other than him.

He had opportunity to hide them at Almeda temporarily, permanently dispose of them at a later date or have someone else do it. Almeda was not searched til September. I believe it took that long to obtain a search warrant because of the influence the family had in the area and DS finally recusing himself. DS was put into his position by the Murdaughs, I have read many opinions that he was “bought and paid for” Moo

RG deserves major props for being willing to go against AM and his story this whole time. AM I'm sure was a very convincing person in his personal life but I'm glad that RG has maintained his stance that he heard AM with PM since day one. It must have been difficult for MM's family to having AM telling all these stories and then RG saying that wasn't accurate. AM had been with MM for decades, what a shock that must be to be mourning the loss of MM and PM and then coming to the realization at some point that AM was the one who did this.

A few pages back people were discussing actors if this was a movie. The whole time I've felt that AM had a Nick Nolte vibe going on and then when JMM got on the stand he reminded me so much of Edward Norton in Primal Fear. That movie is also sort of eerie because JMM sounds just like him and as the movie unfolds you realize that Edward Norton's character is the bad guy and is responsible for so many bad things and thats exactly how I felt watching this trial. As more came out I realized AM was worse than I expected and JMM was responsible for a lot of the behind the scenes fixing and arranging things to help their family

I skipped a few pages to say this: They wanted a speedy trial and this case "jumped" others in the Judges own words. I wonder how Harpootlian and Griffin feel about that now? They are not sorry they let him take the stand (although, I do not think they could have stopped him), I am surprised he did not want to do the closing himself. Thanks to all my fellow sleuthers here and living in SC, I am sure this is not the last I hear of him either. I would like Justice for Stephen Smith and Gloria Satterfield. There is no time limit on murder. Maybe AM will go to Lee and meet Sydney Moorer? Maybe he will end up in a Max prison 15 miles from my house? Tammy Moorer is in a prison about 22 miles from me. I hope they do not put him in the Low Country, no more favors! God bless you all, where to go now?
I think the speedy trial was the way to go though. Longer they waited, the more evidence could be found.

If maggie had seen an attorney about a divorce, i would think that attorney could NOT step forward and announce that. Lawyer client privilege extends beyond death. i am citing the Charles Stewart case in Massachusetts many years ago.http://masscases.com/cases/sjc/408/408mass480.html
