I haven’t seen that one yet. I heard it’s better than the 3 part Netflix one I watched last weekend. Did you see it ?

I’m going to watch this tonight on CBS at 10/9 Central

I wouldn’t say either are better. They each offer different slants. Netflix had more on the boat victims. I thought both were really good.

RG deserves major props for being willing to go against AM and his story this whole time. AM I'm sure was a very convincing person in his personal life but I'm glad that RG has maintained his stance that he heard AM with PM since day one. It must have been difficult for MM's family to having AM telling all these stories and then RG saying that wasn't accurate. AM had been with MM for decades, what a shock that must be to be mourning the loss of MM and PM and then coming to the realization at some point that AM was the one who did this.

A few pages back people were discussing actors if this was a movie. The whole time I've felt that AM had a Nick Nolte vibe going on and then when JMM got on the stand he reminded me so much of Edward Norton in Primal Fear. That movie is also sort of eerie because JMM sounds just like him and as the movie unfolds you realize that Edward Norton's character is the bad guy and is responsible for so many bad things and thats exactly how I felt watching this trial. As more came out I realized AM was worse than I expected and JMM was responsible for a lot of the behind the scenes fixing and arranging things to help their family
Not sure i agree with you on JMM. i think he was the son who didnt aspire to join the family business and was somewhat "less than" at least in his mind. So, he was a fixer and rescuer and perhaps not a bully and showman compared to the others. I dont think he fixed in a sinister way...but he maybe was a peacemaker? i dunno. As far as RG? He's a hero. He seemed truly broken, yet he maintained his composure, he gave the facts and also projected his affection for the entire family even AM...he still told the unadulterated truth, IMO.

Slowly raising my hand… I fit the juror description, and the strategy worked for me.

They had me with the kennel video, and AM did himself in by putting himself on the stand to admit he lied about being there. Timeline was too tight to be anyone other than him.

AM's track record and final act up on the stand was set in stone and if one could seal their own fate AM was a shining example of how to do it. It was the worst "Swan Song" I have ever heard or seen.

These stories include tales of alleged bar fights, driving under the influence, asking law enforcement officers “Bo, do you know who I am?,” and being escorted home like a diplomat’s son instead of getting arrested.

As one might imagine, paper trails that back up these stories are practically nonexistent, and sources have been generally hesitant to go on the record with their memories.

Through a recent Freedom of Information Act request, however, FITSNews was able to unearth a nearly 30-year-old Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report containing details that, at least in part, corroborate accounts of what sources have said Alex was like in his earlier years.

Typically, the allegedly drunken antics during a man’s 20s are no longer relevant when that man has reached his 50s. In the case of Alex Murdaugh — a longtime badge-carrying representative of the 14th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office and a partner at one of the state’s most powerful law firms until recently — a past marked by self-exceptionalism, apparent bullying and a pervasive lack of consequence is prologue. ...

A Deputy Drove Murdaugh Home … More Than An Hour Away

After deputies broke up the fight and Alex was issued his ticket, a deputy, Patrolman First Class Walter Criddle, drove him home, according to the report.

“Murdaugh wasn’t able to drive nor was he able to obtain a ride home,” the deputy noted.

According to the report, Alex lived in Varnville at the time — a 67-mile, one hour and 20 minute drive from Hilton Head.

At the time, the sheriff of Beaufort County was D.J. Lucas.

Alex and the other two men charged that night were scheduled for a hearing on March 29, 1993. The report does not include copies of the tickets that were issued nor does it note the outcomes of the cases.

A background check done on Alex Murdaugh through Nexis noted that the charge was dismissed on March 25, 1993.

Murdaugh graduated from law school just over a year later and was admitted into the South Carolina Bar Association in November 1994.

Me too for the same reasons. I still don’t understand those that think there is reasonable doubt. Agree SLED could have/should have done some things differently but do not believe that negates the evidence that shows Alex‘s guilt. While it is possible that a third-party laid in wait for the opportunity, how many visits to the property did they make looking for the opportunity, did they get lucky on the first try in those very very few minutes after Alex left? While in theory it is possible in the realm that anything is possible, it is just not reasonable. MOO

If maggie had seen an attorney about a divorce, i would think that attorney could NOT step forward and announce that. Lawyer client privilege extends beyond death. i am citing the Charles Stewart case in Massachusetts many years ago.http://masscases.com/cases/sjc/408/408mass480.html
I would also think that Maggie would have discussed marriage issues with her sister, but maybe not. Maggie did not tell her sister that in 2016 she had made her executor of her estate, MP found out after her death. I wonder if she did not disclose this to her because she would have to explain why assets were being shielded, had to be in her name. This leaves me open to the possibility that there were subjects that she did not want to discuss or share. Moo

Well then!
Im guessing AM won’t get this special treatment in prison.
From the article (BBM):

In the early morning of Feb. 28, 1993, Alex Murdaugh, now 53, was accused of starting a violent brawl at a strip club on Hilton Head Island.

At least two men were injured in the fight.

Three men were charged with Public Disorderly Conduct.

Alex, who was 25 at the time and enrolled at University of South Carolina School of Law, was one of them.

One of the three men was taken to jail.

The other was allowed to go to the hospital, where a law enforcement officer was awaiting his arrival.

Alex, on the other hand, was driven home to Varnville — a full hour and 20 minutes away from Hilton Head — by a deputy.

I have to say that there are some regular ppl that get favors from LE.

Instead of a ticket it’s a warning.

I got a speeding ticket my Dad (cop) wouldn’t let me pay it, he made me go to court. He had lawyer friends, ask one for favor. In court I saw the judge pull out one and put it on the bottom. (Mine)
So I had to sit through all the other ppl in court and I was last. Got off the speeding ticket paid court cost but it was h e l l sitting through that, lesson learned.

The officer failed to say my name, I was she, her, in describing the incident.
Because he failed to identify me the case was thrown out.

I was thinking last night why Maggie? Why did he want to kill her? Only thing I could think was once she found out what all AM had done, she would leave him. This would also cost AM money and another lawyer looking into the assets. Seems he did put a lot of thought into who he wanted out of the way.
