Still Missing FL - Steven Cozzi, lawyer, Largo, 21 March 2023 *plastic surgeon arrested*

It used to be - and May still be - in Florida if you declare bankruptcy they can’t take your house. My guess is that he foresaw some financial troubles and was trying to protect his assets.
I just double checked and it was a traditional mortgage, not due in full into 2048.

It's kind of strange that he received over 30 reviews in a 2 year period, and then no reviews over the last four years. Presumably he's been working steadily this whole time.

Was he somehow getting more recent (and less positive) reviews deleted?

Covid probably factored into that when elective surgeries were put on hold.

Guide to Pinellas County Risk Protection Orders (RPO)

This article states where he was working in Miami (found through the department of health).
I found an interview with him, but it has since been removed. The facebook (photos) do show advertisements with him pictured in 2021. Not sure how much longer those will be there though. I briefly looked through the reviews and didn't see his name mentioned recently.

Guidelines for the Use of Automated License Plate Readers
Executive Summary

Automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology is being used by law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. Many Florida law enforcement agencies have acquired, or are planning to acquire, ALPR technology. ALPRs assist law enforcement agencies in detection, identification and recovery of stolen vehicles, wanted persons, missing and/or endangered children/adults, and persons who have committed serious and violent crimes. ALPR data can help detectives develop and pursue leads in criminal investigations by assisting in locating suspects, witnesses, and victims by identifying vehicles in the vicinity at the time of the crime.

A search warrant in the case of a missing Largo lawyer showed nearly $290,000 in cash and several guns were found in the plastic surgeon’s car who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A license plate controller, hair net, surgical mask, gloves, sponges, a MacBook, and nearly $290,000 in cash were among items found in Tomasz Roman Kosowski’s red Toyota, according to a search warrant.

The motive remains unclear, however, the affidavit said both men were supposed to attend the same hearing by telephone on Tuesday, March 21, which was the morning Cozzi disappeared.

So he drove to Miami with almost $300,000 in cash, guns, and a license plate controller. IMO it sounds like he was trying to get on a boat and flee the country.

Detectives said a woman who worked at a nearby veterinary clinic had walked into the utility closet near the common area of Building B, where the Blanchard Law Office suite is located. The woman told detectives that she saw a man hiding behind a door in the dark room.

She said the man was wearing jeans, a loose t-shirt and a surgical face mask. The man told the woman that she was there because of a power outage and then walked out of the room.

The employee said the man left in a Toyota Tundra that may have had a New Jersey license plate.

Does a license plate controller allow the driver to switch the license plate while driving?

What is a license plate controller?

I thought a license plate controller was part of the device that is used to take photo of your license plate when going through tolls on the highway (license plate recognition system)?

Maybe they are talking about an epass device in his car?
