Plead not guilty. $500K bond.
Godfrey says 3/2/19 is the last time she saw Noah. 11 yr. old daughter in CPS custody.
Godfrey plead guilty (12/19/19) & was released from custody (10/15/20) on own recognizance. Will be sentenced on 4/3/23.

Count 2 (for Tylee): 1st degree murder. Count 3 (for JJ): Conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder & grand theft by deception. Count 4(for JJ): 1st degree murder. 3/28/23 Update: Hearing is scheduled on 3/29/23 will deal with the trial witness list. Judge Boyce says this hearing will be about the attendance of victims in the case "as it relates to the exclusionary rule". That is about excluding certain witnesses from being present during other testimony. Boyce: The legal issue today the court wants to discuss is "who is a legally defined victim who would not be subject to the exclusionary order the court just ordered." Rob Wood believes Kay & Larry Woodcock should be considered victims in the case. That's JJ's grandparents who we expect to be present at the trial. Also adding Summer Shiftlet (Lori's sister) & Colby Ryan (Lori's son, JJ & Tylee's brother) to be considered. Lori's attorneys responding -- "we believe the only victim under Idaho code is Colby Ryan would be the only one who qualifies as a victim". The defense team does not believe JJ's grandparents or Lori's sister should fit the legal definition. Archibald is asking the judge to exclude Summer Shiftlet & Kay and Larry Woodcock from the victim list. Boyce will not make a decision today & will issue a written ruling on who will be considered a victim in the case, therefore who would be permitted to be present during portions of testimony. Prosecution & defense must submit supplemental briefings by 5pm Friday, 3/31/23. Next jury selection begins on 4/3/23 @ 9am. Should take about a week & trial will take at least 2 months or more. There will be 1,800 potential jurors.
*Chad Guy Daybell (53/now 54) – Pretrial motions hearing on 3/2/23. Trial was set to begin on 4/3/23 was vacated.
*AZ – *Charge Vallow (62) shot on July 11, 2019. Lori Norene Vallow indicted (6/24/21) & served (6/29/21) with 1 count of conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder in the death of former husband Charles Vallow . Maricopa County

DA will seek DP. Bond reduction denied (3/30/21). Will be representing himself.
*Charged (2/4/19), indicted (4/3/19) & arraigned (4/10/19) with interfering w/emergency call, false report to police officer violating protective order, burglary habitation intend.
*Charged & indicted (3/13/19) & arraigned (4/26/19) with 1st degree felony burglary (on 8/21/18 at Scott’s home). $16,500 bond on charges of interference with an emergency call, making a false police report & violation of a protection order, bond for the burglary charge is $250K, the murder of multiple persons is carrying a bond of $1.5 million & $250K. Plead not guilty to all charges.
Trial was set to begin on 2/20/23 with jury selection (could last 3 week). Judge Steven J. Duskie presiding. Representing himself (pro se). As of 3/23/23 48 potential jurors have been selected. 3/27/23: 3 potential jurors selected. 3/28/23: 2 potential jurors selected. 3/29/23: 4 potential jurors selected. 3/30/23: 2 potential jurors selected. *Kellee Kristine Sorensen (34) – charged (3/16/20) with 2nd degree murder. $3K conditional bond. In custody in Washington State.

*Final Jury Selection begins & Review Hearing (escape attempt) (@ 9am MT) – CO – Gannon Stauch (11) (reported missing Jan. 27, 2020, Colorado Springs; found in a suitcase along the Escambia River Bridge on Mar. 17, 2020 in Pace, FL., Santa Rosa County; ID’d on June 6, 2020) – *Letecia Lynn (or Leann) Stauch (36/now 39) akas Letecia “Tecia” Lynn Hardin (maiden name) & Letecia Lynn Hunt (1st married name), Tiffany Taylor Stauch & Taylor Swift arrested (in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on 3/2/20) & advised of charges (3/5/20) & charged (re-filed 3/20/20) & arraigned (11/4/21) with 2 counts of 1st degree felony murder (after intent & deliberation), 2nd degree felony child abuse resulting in death, 3rd degree felony tampering with deceased human body, 6th degree felony tampering with physical evidence & 8 counts of crime of violence (special enhancer: firearm, blunt instrument, knife or sharp instrument & causing the death of Gannon). Held without bond. Plead not guilty. On 2/11/22 changed plea to not guilty by reason of insanity. (for original charges (3/5/20) see post 362 page 19 of thread #54).
Charged (filed 5/20/20) & charged (6/5/20) with solicitation to commit escape. $2K bond. Plead not guilty.
Gannon suffered from a fractured skull, a gunshot wound to the lower jaw, eighteen sharp force wounds & what appeared to be defensive wounds on his hands. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound with blunt-force trauma to the head.
Trial began on 3/20/23 with jury selection & ended on 3/28/23. Total potential jurors: 120.
Trial will begin on 4/3/23 in the afternoon after final jury selection, maybe just opening statements.
Trial will be from 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday each week. No Trial on Thursdays as Judge has other commitments. No trial on 5/12/23.

4/3/23 Final Jury Selection begins. 120 potential jurors. Judge Werner ruled there will be 16 peremptory challenges for each side. Judge told lawyers to be there at 8:30am on Monday & one group of Jurors at 9:00am, another group at 11:00am. Judge says if the Jurors are selected in time, we may hear opening statements Monday afternoon. He’s given each side one hour for opening.
3/30/23: Motion to allow victims family to be present at all criminal justice proceedings & designate a personal representative. Motion to appeal amended non-dissemination order for Kay & Larry Woodcock.


Wednesday, April 5th:
*Sentencing Hearing (Federal case)-COULD BE DELAYED (@ 9am CT) - TX – Army Specialist PFC Vanessa Guillén (20) (last seen sometime between 11:30am & 12:30pm on April 22, 2020 in the parking lot of her 3rd Cavalry Regiment Engineer Squadron Headquarters. Keys to her car & her barracks room & her ID card & wallet were later found in the armory room where she had worked earlier in the day; reported missing April 23, 2020, Ft. Hood military base, remains were found by contractors working on a fence along the Leon River in Bell County on June 30, 2020 in 3 shallow graves & the remains were sealed in concrete in Belton; ID’d on July 6, 2020) - *Cecily Ann Aguilar (22/now 24) – (Robinson’s GF) – arrested (7/1/20), charged (7/2/20) & arraigned & indicted (7/14/20) with 1 count 2nd degree conspiracy to tamper with evidence with intent to impair a human corpse, to corruptly alter, destroy, mutilate or conceal an object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to impair the objects integrity or availability for use in a criminal case & 1 count conspiracy felony tampering with witness, victim or informant & 1 count felony tampering with witness, victim or informant. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
Superseding indictment: *Indicted & charged (7/13/21) with conspiracy to tamper with documents or proceedings, 2 counts of tampering with documents or proceedings. 3 counts of accessory after the fact, 1 count of destruction, alteration or falsification of records in a Federal investigation & 4 counts of false statement or representation. Plead not guilty (in waiver on 8/11/21). Held without bond.
A federal affidavit released on July 2, 2020 says Robinson beat Guillen, with a hammer & that her body was later dismembered & burned. If convicted, Aguilar could face up to 20 years in prison with a maximum fine of $250K.
Trial was set to begin on 1/23/23 was cancelled due to guilty plea on 11/29/22. Sentencing hearing on 4/5/23 – MIGHT be continued if Aguilar’s motion for continuance is granted. Still on Judge’s scheduled as of 4/1/23.

*Trial set to begin (@ am PT) – Canada – Marissa Shen (13) (last seen alive on July 18, 2017 at a local Tim Hortons, Burney B.C. & her body was found 5 hours later on July 19, 2017 in Burney’s Central Park) - *Ibrahim Ali (28/now 32) arrested & charged (9/7/18) & indicted (11/25/19) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. Held without bail.
Police used a new & somewhat controversial “DNA dragnet” technique, after collecting DNA at the crime scene that indicated a suspect of Middle Eastern descent. (He is a Syrian refugee who entered Canada 3 months before murder).
Trial began on 3/17/23 with jury selection & ended on 3/23/23.
Trial set to begin on 4/5/23. (expected to run thru June 30)

3/23/23 Thursday, Jury Selection Day 3: The jury has been selected for the trial of Ali & the trial was scheduled to begin on April 3, but that date has now been pushed back two days to 4/5/23 to “accommodate pretrial matters,” according to the B.C. Prosecution Service. Because of a publication ban put in place to ensure a fair trial, media cannot report on the details of the pretrial applications before the judge. No info available. Plead not guilty.

*Joshua Eric Molina (33/now 37) – Trial began on 2/25/20 & ended 3/8/20 with Moline found guilty on 1 count of felony injury to a child, another count was changed to a misdemeanor & Molina was also found guilty of that. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the 2 others charges of felony injury to a child & the 1st degree murder change. Twin Falls County prosecutor Grant Loebs will decide whether or not to begin in another jury in hopes of reaching a verdict on the remaining charges. Status hearing on 4/24/20. Defense files motion & order to release jury contact info. 4/24/20 Update; Will be retried for hung jury verdict on charges (1st degree murder & 2 counts of felony injury to a child. 2/1/22 Update: Bond reduction-denied. Retrial started 5/23/22 & ended 6/8/22 with the jury found him guilty of 2 counts of injury to a child but could not come to a decision on the rest of Molina’s charges, resulting in a hung jury. Sentencing on 8/29/22 Molina was sentenced for the 4 counts of injury to a child to 30 years & 6 months & on the charge of murder in the 1st degree was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Molina is now at the Idaho State Penitentiary.

Llopiz beat the little girl to death after she painted on a photograph of him with nail polish.

2/10/23 Friday, Trial Day 11: Closing arguments by prosecutor Rachel Kraker & defense attorney Robert Richman. Jury given instructions & sent out to deliberate. Before Friday's deliberations began, defense lawyers argued that prosecutors had not provided sufficient evidence to find Firkus guilty & they asked Judge Leonardo Castro for an acquittal, which the Judge denied. Jurors deliberated for about 4 hours & Firkus was found guilty on one count each of 1st degree premeditated murder & 2nd degree intentional murder. His sentencing hearing is set for 4/13/23.

4/7/23 Update: Dunlap was sentenced to 10 years indeterminate, with credit for time served. Dunlap has spent the last five & a half years in jail awaiting her sentencing, after being charged in 2017. She originally faced first degree murder and numerous injury to child charges, but took a plea agreement.
*Joshua Eric Molina (33/now 37) – Had 2 trials. On 6/8/22 the jury found him guilty of 2 counts of injury to a child but could not come to a decision on the rest of Molina’s charges, resulting in a hung jury. Sentencing on 8/29/22 Molina was sentenced for the 4 counts of injury to a child to 30 years & 6 months & on the charge of murder in the 1st degree was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Molina is now at the Idaho State Penitentiary.

4/14/23 Friday, Trail Day 4: Closing arguments. The jury came back with a verdict just after 4pm after more than two hours of deliberations. They found her guilty of child abuse causing great bodily harm & attempted 1st degree murder. Avila is set to be sentenced on 5/1/23 @ 2pm by a judge. She faces at least 18 years in prison.

4/1/23 Update: Some of the motions to be heard on 4/13/23: from 3/24/23: The State response to the Defense Motion to exclude or partially exclude McCraney’s initial post-arrest interview with the Ozark Police and ABI. State's objection to defense's motion to suppress evidence from 1993 Mazda 929. The State response to the Defense motion to examine the 1993 Mazda 929; the vehicle in which the victims were found in on the date of discovery of the crime. 3/30/23: State's objection to Defense's subpoena Duces Tecum. A request by the State to quash the subpoena by the defense for the personnel records for former Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker.
4/13/23 Update: On Thursday, McCraney’s attorneys say they received a notice that 147 of the 300 summoned jurors had been excused. After getting this notice, the defense requested an emergency hearing take place. Attorneys David Harrison & Andrew Scarborough want to question Dale County Circuit Clerk Delores Woodham about the dismissed jurors, specifically about their races & why they were taken off the list. Judge Filmore has not ruled on the request for an emergency hearing. Judge Filmore granted two motions in the hearing, the motion to disclose any alleged prior wrongs, crimes, or acts the state intends to introduce at trial. This means the defense must be notified of any alleged prior crimes or acts committed by McCraney before his 2019 arrest that the state intends to reveal. McCraney’s attorneys say the failure to disclose this information would violate McCraney’s right to a fair trial. They also want enough time to investigate the allegations before it is brought up in trial. Judge Filmore also granted the state’s objection to the defendant’s subpoena of former Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker, as the defense wanted Judge Filmore to view Walker’s personnel file. The motion to suppress all evidence found in the 1993 Mazda 929 where Beasley & Hawlett were found, the motion to allow the jury to view the crime scene & the motion to remove jurors who are swayed towards granting the death penalty were denied by Judge Filmore. The defense withdrew the request to suppress McCraney’s alleged statements made to Ozark Police after his 2019 arrest. 4/12/23 Update: Judge Davis presiding over a defamation case against Fox News admonished its attorneys Wednesday for potentially withholding evidence & said he is inclined to order an independent review by a special master that could lead to sanctions. The move by Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis came amid a burst of fresh revelations in the case filed by Dominion Voting Systems against the conservative network & its parent company, Fox Corp. The judge expressed anger & frustration during a pretrial hearing after learning that Fox only recently turned over recordings of Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo talking with two lawyers for then-President Donald Trump, Sidney Powell & Rudy Giuliani. That came after the disclosure a day earlier that Fox lawyers had withheld critical information about the role company founder Rupert Murdoch, who is chairman of Fox Corp., played at Fox News. sanctioned FOX News for withholding evidence in the case. Also said he would consider appointing a special master to investigate the Fox legal teams' actions. The judge Wednesday ordered Fox attorneys to collect and preserve all internal communications regarding the matter. Earlier in the day, he denied Dominion’s request to hold separate trials based on the new information about Murdoch’s roles — one for Fox News and another for the network’s parent company. 4/13/23 Thursday, Jury Selection Day 1: Jury selection is expected to last two days, with opening statements scheduled for Monday morning in Wilmington, Delaware. 4/13/23 Update: Jury selection began Thursday. Roughly 300 potential jurors were summoned to the Delaware Superior Court and will eventually be whittled down to a panel of 12 jurors and 12 alternates. Almost the entire process took place outside of public view, with Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis privately questioning prospective jurors. Davis said Thursday afternoon that he made good progress & that there were “more than enough jurors” to start the trial as planned on Monday, when opening statements are expected. Judge Davis told the attorneys Thursday afternoon that they had a sufficient pool of potential jurors (36) to finalize selection & that the court would finish the process by allowing attorneys their strikes Monday before opening statements. 4/14/23 Friday, Trial Day 8: State witnesses: former EPCSO Detective Jessica Bethel, was the lead detective on this case at the time. Colorado Springs PD CSI Christian Liewer. Crime scene investigator, employed by CS metro crime lab for 4 years. Brooke Bell. Senior CSI with Colorad Springs Metro crime lab. Six years experience.
A juror has indicated to the judge she realised she knows Witness Happ, but didn't recognize her name from the witness list, just recognised her when she came to give testimony. Will be dealt with at the end of the day. Dealing with the juror issue now. Judge assuring the juror they did the right thing. Was involved in clergy of the witness's mother-in-law's church. Talked to mother-in-law about end of life arrangements, sang at the funeral of another family member. Only two contacts with the witness. Witness did not talk to her about the case. Thinks she can still remain impartial. Dismissed back to the jury room while the decision is made. No objection from prosecution. Prosecution gives her props for honesty. Defense thinks that the connection is too intimate. Gets the relationship wrong, thinks that it was the witness's mother, not mother-in-law. Thinks the witness being an expert gives weight to testimony. Defense says she was always on their cut list. Judge is going to think about it over the weekend, review her questionnaire & the strike list, seating list, etc, & will rule on Monday.
Prosecutor asking judge to admonish Letecia from flipping the bird to Gannon’s family. Judge says if it continues he’ll have her put in a holding cell until she’s ready to be respectful.

The two Black women were both wearing blazers; one of them was the only juror to wear a mask.

Judge Davis has reportedly removed Fox News’ senior vice president of media relations Caley Cronin from the courtroom for taking a photo. According to the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple, Ms Cronin was “summoned from Davis’s courtroom & directed to the overflow room for having taken a photograph in the courtroom before the day’s proceedings”. The judge last week banned audio & video recordings during the trial.
Judge Davis has issued an order that all of Fox’s statements about the 2020 election were false, according to former US attorney and legal analyst Harry Litman. Judge Davis has ruled, and will instruct the jury, that all of Fox’s statements were false. But Dominion still has the right to make its case. So they are going to present the statements, from their first opening, in all their lurid detail. Fox has to just sit there and take it.”

3/7/23 Update: Judge Sam Ohta found Barron & Leiva guilty of 1st degree murder & torture in the June 21, 2018, death of Anthony. The judge also found true the special circumstance allegation of murder involving the infliction of torture. They were also convicted of two counts of child abuse involving the boy's half-siblings, identified in court as "Destiny O." & "Rafael O." Leiva & Barron now face a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole when they are sentenced on 4/25/23.

He entered the 1st degree murder guilty plea in Santa Clara County Superior Court via video conference; he is in state prison custody in Stockton & his attorney said several medical conditions made it impossible to safely bring him to court. Getreu is scheduled for sentencing 4/26/23 & again faces a lifetime prison sentence. Technically, he would be eligible for parole after about seven years because his crimes are subject to 1973 sentencing guidelines."

OH – Theresa Smith (15) - 2/23/22: Investigative journalist Grace Kahng revealed that she & investigators have identified an additional victim of the infamous Stanford Murderer, John Getreu. Kahng says Getreu is behind the death of Theresa Smith of Ohio, who was killed at age 15. Getreu lived two blocks from her house. Charges have not been filed in that investigation. Theresa Smith, 15, was found April 16, 1980 on Ohio 16, east of Frazeysburg. Her body was at the bottom of a bank & she had been dead for approximately 24 to 36 hours. Her body was discovered at 7:30pm by a boy riding by the area on his bicycle. She was wearing a blue blouse & socks. It was not possible to determine if Ms. Smith had been sexually abused.

(13) (last seen alive on July 18, 2017 at a local Tim Hortons, Burney B.C. & her body was found 5 hours later on July 19, 2017 in Burney’s Central Park) - *Ibrahim Ali (28/now 32) arrested & charged (9/7/18) & indicted (11/25/19) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. Held without bail.
Police used a new & somewhat controversial “DNA dragnet” technique, after collecting DNA at the crime scene that indicated a suspect of Middle Eastern descent. (He is a Syrian refugee who entered Canada 3 months before murder).

4/19/23 Wednesday, Trial Day 6: Trial has been adjourned again, with proceedings slated to resume next Wednesday [4/26/23]. On Thursday, B.C. Was on run, but found 8/5/18 with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, taken to hospital in stable condition.
e first said he choked the two children, but later confessed to using a knife to cut their throats. He confirmed that the knife found at the house was the murder weapon & also confessed to writing the note, which was found at the apartment.

4/25/23 Update: 3/7/23 Update: Judge Sam Ohta found Barron & Leiva guilty of 1st degree murder & torture in the June 21, 2018, death of Anthony. The judge also found true the special circumstance allegation of murder involving the infliction of torture. They were also convicted of two counts of child abuse involving the boy's half-siblings, identified in court as "Destiny O." & "Rafael O." Leiva & Barron now face a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole when they are sentenced on 4/25/23.
4/25/23 Update: Superior Court Judge Sam Ohta sentenced Barron & Leiva to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the torture & murder of Anthony.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 9am PT) - CA – Leslie Marie Perlov (21) (last seen Feb. 13, 1973, Palo Alto; found Feb. 16, 1973, Palo Alto) - *John Arthur Getreu (28 @ time of crime/74/now 78) arrested (11/20/18), charged (11/21/18) & arraigned (11/26/18) & re-arraigned (2/18/20) with 1st degree murder during the commission of attempted rape. Plead not guilty. Held without bail. Incarcerated in Wasco State prison.
DNA submitted to Parabon Nanolabs-match.
Trial was set to begin in 2022 was vacated. Plead guilty to 1st degree murder on 1/10/23 & will be sentenced on 4/27/23.

1/10/23 Update: Getreu formally admitted Tuesday to killing 21-year-old Leslie Marie Perlov on Feb. 13, 1973. He entered the 1st degree murder guilty plea in Santa Clara County Superior Court via video conference; he is in state prison custody in Stockton & his attorney said several medical conditions made it impossible to safely bring him to court. Getreu is scheduled for sentencing 4/27/23 & again faces a lifetime prison sentence. Technically, he would be eligible for parole after about seven years because his crimes are subject to 1973 sentencing guidelines."
4/27/23 Update: Getreu convicted of two murders near Stanford University in the 1970s was handed his second sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole Thursday morning in a Santa Clara County courtroom, closing a prolonged pursuit of justice 50 years after the initial slaying took place. Getreu’s life sentence will be served consecutively with the sentence previously handed out for the murder of Taylor and without possibility of parole, making it likely that he will die in prison.

OH – Theresa Smith (15) - 2/23/22: Investigative journalist Grace Kahng revealed that she & investigators have identified an additional victim of the infamous Stanford Murderer, John Getreu. Kahng says Getreu is behind the death of Theresa Smith of Ohio, who was killed at age 15. Getreu lived two blocks from her house. Charges have not been filed in that investigation. Theresa Smith, 15, was found April 16, 1980 on Ohio 16, east of Frazeysburg. Her body was at the bottom of a bank & she had been dead for approximately 24 to 36 hours. Her body was discovered at 7:30pm by a boy riding by the area on his bicycle. She was wearing a blue blouse & socks. It was not possible to determine if Ms. Smith had been sexually abused.

*Plea Hearing (@ 9:30am CT) – TX – Marcel Ndossoka (8) & Anna-Belle Faith Ndossoka (1) (August 4, 2018, Houston) - *Jean Pierre Ndossoka (61/now 66) “father” arrested & charged (8/5/18) with 2 counts of capital (Felony) murder. No bond. Probable cause found (8/7/18), no arraignment held yet.
Was on run, but found 8/5/18 with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, taken to hospital in stable condition.
He first said he choked the two children, but later confessed to using a knife to cut their throats. He confirmed that the knife found at the house was the murder weapon & also confessed to writing the note, which was found at the apartment.
