''Another police search for a missing Timmins man is underway.

Timmins Police is searching a wooded area at the end of Mountjoy Street South as part of its investigative effort to find Ryan Armstrong, who was reported missing on June 6.

Today's search includes the Timmins Police emergency response team (ERT), OPP and the Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue Unit. A search of the area last week didn't turn up anything of "investigative significance."

"A public appeal for information remains in full effect in regards to any potential sightings or providing any other relevant information as to his location and well-being," said police in a news release. ''

''He was last seen wearing a light-coloured hoodie, track pants with a reflective stripe down the side, teal running shoes and headphones. He is described as:

• A white male
• 5' 8" tall
• 200 pounds with a muscular build
• Blue eyes
• Spiked light brown hair with blond highlights
• A number of tattoos on both arms, hands, neck and face

In 2017, Armstrong was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and improperly or indecently offering an indignity to human remains for the killing of Vikki Heppner in 2016 in British Columbia.''

Police locate body of missing man

Foul play is not suspected, police 'extend its gratitude to the members of the public who came forward with viable information in regards to this incident'

''Armstrong was reported missing on June 6. Foul play is not suspected. Next of kin notifications have been made, said police.

"The Timmins Police Service wishes to extend its gratitude to the members of the public who came forward with viable information in regards to this incident," reads a Timmins Police news release.

Over the past week, police have made multiple appeals for information about Armstrong's whereabouts and conducted several searches in the wooded area.

The search included the Timmins Police Service, OPP Canine Unit and Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue.''
