The Sheriff's Department was not notified until May 14, 2008, when a missing person report was taken. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance now appear to be suspicious and officials from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department are investigating the matter.

David Bishop is described as a white male, 6' tall, and weighs between 200 and 240 pounds. He has brown collar-length hair, brown eyes, and a brown mustache. He also has tattoos on both of his arms. He has a tattoo of a rose on his right forearm and a tattoo of a ship on his left forearm.

Elko County sheriff's deputies are searching near the Idaho-Nevada line for the body of a Sacramento man who has been missing since mid-May and may have been the victim of a homicide.

Elko County Undersheriff Rocky Gonzalez said a suspect in the case who is a nephew of the missing man has been arrested and is being questioned in Jerome County, Idaho.

He said 23-year-old Sean Shepherd indicated to law enforcement that the body of 47-year-old David Bishop of Sacramento was dumped in the Salmon Falls Creek near a rest area along U.S. Highway 93 south of Jackpot.

A pair of Sacramento brothers were arrested in Idaho and Kansas this week and charged with murder in the disappearance and suspected killing of their uncle last month, a Sacramento County sheriff's spokesman said.

Meanwhile, sheriff's deputies in Elko County, Nev. continued searching near the Idaho-Nevada line Saturday for the body of the suspected victim, 47-year-old David Brian Bishop.

I know it's horrible to murder, but murder your own uncle?! What losers.

Sheriff's deputies from Twin Falls County Idaho have recovered the body of a suspected homicide victim along Salmon Falls Creek near Jackpot, Nevada.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Nebeker says the body was turned over to the coroner's office Monday night. Officials have not yet released the identity of the body. But Nebeker says they assume it is the missing California man they've been looking for.

I can't get the links in posts 2 or 3 to work so I'm linking this article below:

"David was trying to save Shawn," Blair added, "trying to get him out of some of the messes he was in."
More at link...

Like Taximom said, murder is horrible but I think it's even worse considering he was trying to help/save Shawn and he ends up dead ;-( In his picture he just looks like such nice guy, how could they do this? I hope this turns out to be some sort of accident and not intentional (not that it makes it any better) but I would hate to think his last moments were knowing his own nephews were trying to kill him!

Sorry if I'm not making any sense, I've got too many wheels turning at the same time so I'm a little overstimulated

I actually knew Dave for the last 2 1/2 years and he was a great guy. He was helping out his nephew change their bad ways and he got killed for helping them. We miss him so much.

Iggs-I'm so sorry for your loss ;-( I think it's just horrible that he was helping him and his nephew does this? It's so very sad.

Welcome to Websleuths and thanks for posting, are there any updates that you know of?
