This is indeed the saddest story I've read :(

December 04, 2008

Dear friends and prayer warriors-
Last evening, our sweet angel Stephanie Krider Vest returned home to be with the Lord. She fought a long and courageous battle. Our hearts are heavy with sadness, but we rejoice that she is no longer suffering.
We will keep you posted with pending arrangements.

About Stephanie

Stephanie Vest - a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend - has recently been challenged with the fight of her life. After struggling for months with a lingering, undiagnosed illness, it was determined that Stephanie needed further expertise and testing at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Stephanie and her husband Eric both embraced this opportunity and took the trip (in August 2008) hoping to uncover the culprit. It was during that first visit that Stephanie received the unexpected news that she has a rare form of Lymphoma that attacks the skin. To be specific, it is called Gamma Delta Lymphoma. Luckily, she has found a team of dedicated specialists who only work with Lymphoma patients. And together they are working towards the prognosis of remission.

This is an unfair and unforeseen blow to her family, especially since they just added a new addition to their home in late June 2008: a sweet baby girl named Gracelyn Isabelle Vest. So in the midst of the chaos of caring for a newborn baby, the family is also dealing with this shocking illness. Gracelyn was only nine weeks old when they completely learned of the severity of Steph's condition.

In addition to their baby girl, Eric and Stephanie have two boys: Zachary (7 years old) and Cole (almost 4 years old). Please bless their 3 children with comfort, health, peace and joy despite this trying time.

So very sad, PrayersForMaura. The beauty and grace of God is seen in their loving faces.....may that be a source of strength for her husband, children, famiy and friends

This is very sad. Breaks my heart that she can't physically be there to watch her children grow up. May God give the family, especially her children the strength, comfort, love and peace.

This is incredibly sad. May God Bless and keep Eric and their children! She is in Heaven and will never suffer again.

This is so incredibly sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Vest family and to the rest of Stephanie's family and friends. RIP Stephanie.

"Stephanie had specific thoughts already planned regarding her services. As we all know, she was the consummate planner with attention to every detail. And being the decorator that she was - she had designed the flowers and color scheme for her funeral. Please read the below description that fully communicates her ideas about the memorial."

"She had envisioned her memorial with soft pink, delicate flowers"

She displayed incredible strength.

This is so sad. I lost a friend to leukemia last Thanksgiving. His wife kept a blog throughout his treatment to keep us all updated. As hard as they are to read when it is over, they are also a source of comfort in a strange way.. I go back and read about their ups and downs from time to time.

God Bless the Vest family.

My Granny did the same thing. She planned it down to every last detail. She had her favorite florist over to pick out the flowers to go beside the door. Everything. I always thought it was strange, but it was her way to cope and leave us with little to do buy grieve.

May God bless this family and Eric.

My heart aches for Stephanie and those who loved her....the world lost a bright "star". It hurts to think that Gracie will never know her Mom. My prayers to this family.

What a beautiful mom and family. How sad that the children won't have their mom while they are growing up. That is what hurts a lot. That little baby just born in June. It's just so sad.

My heart goes out to the Vast family. What a special woman.God bless her children.
