It does say that "So far about 20 women have come forward to cross themselves off the list..."

The magazine only accounts for a dozen though.

Your welcome Redbird.

I have been sooooooo worried about the little blonde with the bright smile and blue shirt...so worried.

Thanks so much for posting this...I'm so relieved some of them are safe and all right.

It's kind of starting to irk me that LE doesn't just come out and say which girls have been ID'D or just ask the media outlets to delete the pictures that they no longer need help identifying. They don't have to give their names to the public. I keep hearing of more and more women coming forward to state that they are alive and well and I'm happy for them but I'm starting to feel like LE is wasting my time. I am looking for people that they have already identified when my time could be put towards people who really need the help. I'm starting to wonder if all of these women are fine. I don't mean to complain and I'm happy to help but I just feel like LE is wasting my time at this point. How hard could it possibly be to let us know who we no longer need to look for? Sorry for the rant.

I would like to know who the others are who have come forward...not names, just which photos. The ones I have seen that have come forward openly look very different after all of these years. With the exception of family and friends, I bet many of them would not be recognised. IOW, no reason for them not to just take the pics down or put a beautiful "IDENTIFIED" banner across the pics.

LovinTK and TripleA, consider youselves seconded (and thirded perhaps). We ain't asking for names and addresses, just which girls are alive and don't need to be looked at anymore.

you said "People Magazine April 19th" does that mean its not on newstands yet? I want to get it, See if it has any more on What the girls remember about Alcala, maybe some of his "moves" (even if they speak up anonymously)

Maybe one of the 20 is the girl with "The little girl with Blonde Hair, Blue Shirt, and Overalls"

I feel like the thoughts of the LE is we have enough to get him, why not put our manpower into current crimes - i wish thee was one organized website instead of flipping through 3+ websites to find them all, and of course would love to know whos identified

It is on the shelves, but has an issue date of April 19. It has Justin Bieber on the cover (which is the only reason that I have a copy since my 7yo used her Walmart gift card to buy it lol). Nothing on the cover at all indicating that this story and photos are in there.

Oh, and there are 12 photos (the 11 links above, one that has two girls) in the magazine, including the little blonde girl, but the text says "about 20". So that leaves about 8 more not named, but ID'd already by LE.

for once im looking forward to getting gas in the morning! lol (11 links = 13 girls Denmark girls and blond girl since theres pics with her close to some other girl)

i read somewhere that some pics had writing on the back - i wonder if some of those were easily identified and never released to the public, and part of the 20?

11 links = 12 girls (1 link has 2 Denmark Girls plus 10 other girls)

i see that now i got confused because i thought the blue shirt girl was IDed with the other girl she was with =]

Wonder if the little blonde could ID the other one she was photographed with (the yellow Corvette t-shirt brunette).

If she couldn't tell if the other one was safe or it must not have been a really close relative or a friend but they look awfully cosy together in some shots.

And she
http://cnnnancygrace.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/02061.jpg
might have been able to identify the other girl photographed with her

(At least I think it's the same blonde in both photos because the background looks the same and the necklaces match.)

All the photos listed here as alive have a "posed" quality IMO. Most of them are dressed, obviously posing for the camera, just one or two people focused in the shot, there is no mess in the background, taken outside or if it's inside it's not his clutter in the background. They are among Alcala's more professional photographs, IMO.

There are no photos here from the other bunch that look more like they've been snapped unplanned.

The question is, if we can make the conclusion that the people in these more professional looking shots are more likely to be alive and the people in the other kinds of shots are more at risk for having been a victim...? Or if the People magazine just chose the most aesthetic ones to be published and decided that the unflattering cluttered shots of drunken / naked people wouldn't look good on their pages? Maybe if they identified some people in the unflattering photos they told the police they would prefer not to be singled out because they were embarrassed by the photos or if Alcala had molested them?

These are the ones I couldn't find threads for to mark Found Alive. They may not have threads, but if anyone comes across one, please poke me and I'll mark it.

Thanks!

Here's the updated list of those left to find and mark (if they have threads):

If anyone here has the time and the webspace, I think it would go a long way towards helping efforts by saving (or taking screenshots of the unsaveable) all the pictures at the different websites, weeding out duplicates, and putting them all up at a single webpage grouped according to 'Found Alive', and these girls look similar, etc. etc.

I'm still not even sure what all the websites are besides Nancy Grace and the OC Register...

I heard on the local (Los Angeles) radio news that the actual number of persons who have come forward is 21 (not 20), and that none of the photos have been connected to any unsolved murders or missing persons.

seatle times =] , then theres some county sheriffs offices sites. See the sticky thread http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98550

Id work up my own website - i have the time and organizing ideas, but am unsure of copyright laws pertaining to this and obtaining webspace

The photos themselves I would assume are public domain since they were released by government/LE. The sites hosting them (Nancy Grace, OC Register, etc.) wouldn't have any claim to them. I will see about putting together all of them here soon.
