KATY, Texas – Two teenage boys found a girl’s body Sunday afternoon while hanging out in the woods in Katy.

Police said the teens were near the intersection of Williams Chase and Powell House around 2 p.m. when they discovered the girl’s body.

Authorities said it was not clear how she died or how long the body had been there.

No more details were immediately available.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.

According to map quest it is 7 hours northwest from Colordo City.......west of Aboline total 420-430 miles

My mapquest if correct says from Crescent City (houston) to Katy is 50 miles

Katy is just outside of Houston, so it's pretty much clear across the state from Colorado City. One of the comments under the article in the link posted above said another source is reporting the girl found is in her 20s. I don't know if that's been confirmed, but I think this is more likely to be someone missing from the Houston area.

Why hasn't BD been charged and arrested for child endangerment?
Since it is fact about her lifestyle of fighting, drug use, *advertiser censored*, etc around children?

Passionflower, before LE can press charges of child neglect against BD, they will have to gather evidence which will stand up in Court from various authorities such as CPS, the medical field, school officials, and friends and family etc.; so this is a huge endeavor and it could realistically take several years before LE are prepared to present their findings of child endangerment against BD in a Court of Law especially since her children have reached adolescence.

Possessing adult *advertiser censored* isn’t illegal AFAIK, and unless LE can prove BD was buying or selling illegal drugs, like they did in the Hailey Cummings case, they might not have enough evidence to proceed.

If, for example, CPS investigated complaints against BD within the last few years and ruled her fit to raise her children and there is no documented knowledge of physical abuse in the home by BD by either LE or medical experts, this could definitely thwart LE’s decision to continue moving in this direction because we know LE can’t press charges of this magnitude on rumors and innuendoes alone.

Raising teenagers is not an easy, especially for a working single mother, so a certain amount of neglect could also be misconstrued as “independence”, since they were at an age where they had their own interests and could take care of themselves (a 13-year-old is legally able to babysit). A certain amount of fighting and discord in the home wouldn’t necessarily be judged as “out of the norm” since teenagers need to be able to assert and stand up for themselves in order to survive and prosper. I believe children need guidance in making choices and decisions but generally speaking, CPS aren’t willing to separate a mother from her children and BD and her children have managed to stay together and thrive over the years without a major incident which BD stated during one of her interviews. It is also possible that if BD was physically and psychologically abusing her children, her children might not feel comfortable revealing this sensitive information to a stranger which decreases the possibility LE will be able to collect the facts & evidence they need to build a rock solid case against her. MO
