Though I think she had it on when he killed her, neither the ducks or the necklace came close to proving murder in the first place.
It's just 2 small pieces of CE that were shot down.
There is MUCH more, don't worry.

I don't have to worry because I have nothing to do with this trial or its verdict. But I guarantee you that the prosecution is very worried about it. I simply find it amazing how it no longer matters to you on here. Just like the "missing earring". That was proof of guilt to because of his big fingers. That one went poof too.

And what would the purpose of doing so much laundry? Except maybe a backlog of dirty clothes. We know he did his own clothes. What exactly is your theory as to why he did a bunch of laundry?

My theory is he didn't want to leave a scent for search dogs because it would not take them from the house but towards it. (And that is what happened anyways.)

Do you really believe when BC had not done NC's laundry that this was the morning he decided to do everything? And so conveniently not have a single item of clothing or towels she used left undone? Is it really possible for this to be only coincidence?

Yep, JA was wrong about seeing the ducks.
Yes, they looked in October and the shoes were gone.
I drew my own conclusion he ditched them.
You can come up with your own excuses.

Yours is a conclusion and mine is an excuse? :waitasec:

What exactly is your point? The state also had unlimited access to experts that the defense doesn't. Are you excusing the crappy job the ADAs did because they aren't paid as much? They chose to go into public service (and God Bless them for it). Oh, and Kurtz isn't exactly seasoned in 1st degree murder cases either. His specialty is drug cases.

The state does not use 'hired guns' or pro-bono takers for publicity.
I am saying Kurtz has put in many more hours in for this case because he could....not the case with the budget strapped DA's office...IMO

Kurtz's specialty is drug cases? You know this how?

I said that something was wrong with JA the day she testified in court. She was articulate, but she seemed drugged. She may hold a major role in this case, and some of the subsequent testimony certainly has diminished her truthfulness. But I can't figure out what her agenda was?

In my opinion, her agenda was to make sure Brad Cooper was found guilty. I'm really disturbed by her telling MH not to talk to the police because she was the one that reported it, so only she should talk to the police. Why on earth would she do that unless it was to control the information being given to police. If that doesn't show an agenda then I have no idea what would.

And I remember hearing 'let's leave the cooper family out of this', 'they've suffered enough.' Doesn't that hold true towards the Rentz/Lister families too? Among all these adults, the one who has suffered the most is Krista, losing her TWIN. Twins do have a special bond, they have been together 9 months longer than anyone else. Been bonded together inutero. Most likely slept together in one crib as babies........ of all the sadnesses involved, let's not forget Krista's loss of her identical soul mate.

I believe the only criticism that KL has received on this forum is her behavior in court with HP. And that is valid criticism.

You really thought that BC thought they would bring scent dogs to his house? And her scent should have been in that house...she lived there.

So please tell me - what exactly was JA's motive? Why did JA want NC dead so much that she enlisted the help of CPD, the DA's office, the FBI, and all NC's friends? Why did JA want the mother of those two children dead? Why wouldn't NC's mother/father want JA arrested and tried if there were any inkling in their mind that JA was behind the murder of NC? How in the world did JA hack into BC's computers and plant evidence? I just simply do not understand how or why you think JA did this. Do you believe JA ambushed NC while on her job - overpowered her and strangled her while taking the extreme chance someone else saw her? Please elaborate because I can't for the life of me understand your thoughts on how and why JA did this. It is the farthest thing to me that could even remotely have happened. But maybe I'm just not seeing what you envision happening. Do tell.

And I'd like to know how she transported the body. Nancy Cooper was a tall, strong woman. Heck, for that matter, how'd JA manage to hold a strangle hold on someone stronger than herself? If she didn't know how to immobilize another person, she would have had to hold that strangle hold for a matter of moments......and remember, it wasn't a ligature strangle either.

She said that she had interviews lined up and needed a suit. Fair enough, he was probably happy that she was going to be working. If she wanted to move to Ottawa, he was probaby agreeable. We know that he and Nancy discussed him hiring a nanny for the children, presumably that he would have a nanny so Nancy could move.

How could anyone today actually believe that child support would not be a factor in divorce with children? Again, we have to believe that Brad was completely stupid to have thought that Nancy would not continue to ask for money after the divorce.

I don't think he expected to not pay child support, or have orders put in place. But even still, that really means nothing nowadays. The laws for enforcing those orders are getting better, but you still need to be able to track down the person responsible. And for someone who chooses not to pay, there are many ways to get around this, one of which is leaving the country.

But I don't think he was expecting alimony, or a division of assets as he saw drafted. From my perspective, I believe he considered that ungrateful.

Kurtz specialty has been discussed in here many times. I have no idea where it came from.

So if the defense pays an expert, they are a "hired gun". If they use someone that is doing it pro bono, they are "takers for publicity"? I guess the defense doesn't have a right to use experts based on that.

Oh, and Kurtz has obviously put in a lot of hours on this case. He's a hell of a lot more prepared than the prosecution.

I could be wrong, but all these "errors" in the prosecutions case mixed with the "errors" by LE is what is going to decide this case.

As has been said before, the jurors are comprised of working class women, women who may not necessarily have a lot of sympathy for the Peyton Place neighbors, and probably now think they are a bunch of liars. Fair or not, that puts suspicion on EVERYTHING they have said, including their account of the Cooper marriage. Working class women jurors, and African American women in particular are also more likely to be suspicious of police (according to the defense attorney who spoke to my class last week).

I believe Brad did it. I also believe the Prosecution has bungled their job so completely that this will result in either NG or (less likely) a hung jury. I really don't see how it could be otherwise. The note from the jury speaks volumes.

I was put off by her telling MH not to talk with the police--and wondered if she told everybody in the 'group' the same thing. Some on here have speculated that she murdered NC but I don't see that at all. And I don't understand why she was so dead-set against BC unless she simply hated him based on what she was told by NC. That's an extreme emotion, based on nothing, except hearsay. I have had many close friends over the years that I would do almost anything for but getting this involved in a murder case and trying so very hard for *everything* to point to BC is something I would not do. I hope she is interviewed as well as the jury when this trial is finished.

Discussion/debate of opposing POV's is good

getting personal with one another is not good.

Debate the facts, debate the information, debate the case. Everyone is drawing their own conclusions based on the info, that is fine and as it should be. But the belittling and snark at each other for holding their own opinions isn't going to fly in here.

If someone violates TOS or etiquette, just alert on it and scroll on by. If someone snarks at you or attacks you personally, don't respond to it and then alert on it. The minute you respond to it, you are equally as guilty and everyone will get a TO. Just alert on it and scroll by.

Where this post lands is random because I have no idea where it will land once I am done typing.

I love my kids and don't mind taking care of them (I'm their dad...it's my responsibility). But I also can't do the normal things I do when my wife is here. For example, I can't go (and haven't gone) running this weekend. And that is something I do nearly every day.

So are you saying your wife 'baby-sits' for you so you can go jogging every day?

Yep, that's my opinion....you have obviously have yours too.

Kurtz...thank's for confirming my point he is more prepared than the state.

You think he killed her and them immediately thought "I don't like those damn ducks" and took the time from cleaning and covering up the murder to go and pack the ducks in a box? Remember...they weren't there in the pictures from the 12th.

Why not? He was on his hands and knees cleaning the floors. If he didn't like them, either throw them away or put them away. That is a pretty common thing to do.

JP mentioned the "Strange Michael" possibly being involved with drugs as well. He also sounded as though he could have been hopped up on something when he was talking to the police.

Did CPD investigate any kind of drug connection?

Last I heard, life insurance proceeds are not taxed.
What estate taxes would be owed on Nancy's minimal estate?
Yes, the $75K would go to pay off debt so he could move on with a new life.

Brad's a smart guy, perhaps he wouldn't bother to pay off any debt with that money. He'd declare bankruptcy, default on the house, and move to France. :fence:

I've never been to their site. What I find interesting is that people on here rip Kurtz because his specialty is drug cases. Yet both AF and BZ are listed on that site as their primary role is the "Drug Unit".

I didn't know that Kurtz or AF or BZ were drug case specialists. Thx for that info. So for me, drugs have nothing to do with my opinion of any of the principals -- it's just watching them in action in this trial.
