So over all-things-Casey --- Anyone else?

I guess the first step would be to not come to the KC websleuths forum.
Soooooo, I guess I'm not done yet. Still looking for some answers. I'm pretty sure soon it will all fade off the TV, so I'll have to be done.

Yes, I am sick of the whole shabang! I'm spending quality time with my grandson. I have only had him for three months and he may not be my blood, but I couldn't love him anymore if he was. He ia Mamaw'a boy!!

Enjoy him!!! They grow up so fast.

There are 1000+ posts speculating in multiple topics about where Casey went. It seems like there are a lot of posters who are interested in what Casey is up to. I'm not looking forward to when every topic on this forum is about Casey and her new life.

Has NG mentioned Lauren or Leiby since the trial ended? Those are two cases that she could cover instead of Casey.

i would think the media's, especially hln's, obscene and shameless milking of this thing would end everyone's interest - in fact, post-trial coverage has been more pornographic than anything else.

btw, nice to see that the abuse excuse defense is in no danger of ever fading - from the current murdoch scandal:

"Mark Kurland, New Castle’s co-founder, “engaged in a ‘vicious cycle of abuse’ and ‘psychological exploitation’ to turn Dani (Chiesi) into his ‘virtual servant,’” Chiesi’s lawyers argued in a sentencing memorandum yesterday..."

i'm sure this brought a smile to casey's face...

I haven't been watching the cable news coverage since the verdict. If I happen to see a news clip of KC's reaction to the verdict, I look away. Can't watch it. I look for updates on news websites, and come here to blow off steam and to chat with like-minded folks.

Same for me. I have an interest in reading any book written by Yuri Melich or Jeff Ashton - other than that, no thanks.

However, before we are all "done", please take 5 minutes to write to your state legislators and tell them you want:
1. Caylee's law
2. No compensation for jurors (I'm in favor of never, but at least 6-9 months)
3. Changes in the jury selection process
.end the practice of jury selection experts;
..don't allow anybody to get out of serving - unless related to defendant or attorney or similar exigent circumstances;
..education/instruction class prior to first day of trial (capital case) to explain what is/isn't evidence, what are opening statements, explanation of final jury instructions, etc
..increase the per diem payment to jurors
..eliminate sequestered juries

The above is what I addressed in my letters to legislators and governor.

It is easy to find email and physical addresses, but if you cannot, PM me and I'll do my best to find them for you.

I can't believe how much time I spent reading and posting about this. It's going away nicely though. I really wish I could celebrate lifetime incarceration for her, but it is what it is. Caylee touched many, and I was touched. Karma is a ***** for most, in this life or the next and that is what the ghoul will get.

^^ YEAH. What all ya'll said.

I just love you guys. I feel like we have bonded. Complete strangers not knowing really anything about any of us. One thing in common....Caylee. What a 3 year journey. How pathetic is it that WE have grieved more about Caylee not getting justice than her own mother. Saddens me greatly.

I think I'm realizing it is not so much the Casey case that I am/was hooked on, but coming here each day to read and write posts with friends. I will continue to do so.

Well said. I have no hope that Casey will get hers in this life, but will certainly get it in the next. I just wish people would focus on making sure Casey and her entire Defense Team don't make a single cent on this travesty of justice.

The only 3 times I was ever interested in what KC had to say was in the Universal Tape with LE, her 1st call home and then when the FBI had to wait for JB to show up & then nothing happened (you know the one she sat there primping herself)

I have absolutely no desire to listen to her, the DT or the Jury (in which I haven't watched & read the comments posted here).

What I did want to see was the proactive things like the Caylee's Law; the other Legal action of Juror's not profitting. I also hoped that some investigation was done about the Juror's after what a few said. I'd like to see an assessment done with assertive actions taken to prevent that from occuring again.

But to tracking where KC is.. nope not interested at all. At this point she is the means thru which we can learn and make postive changes to the Judical system.

(Bold by me) I think she will...

I completely agree, it's over and there's nothing we can do except try to ensure she or her defense team do not profit off of all of this. We DO have a say in that :)

Omgosh HLN has gone off the deep end. It might as well be CaseyTV. It's embarrassing & just feeds her ego. Come on network.

we most certainly do. In fact today when people magazine reported on the chloroform searches today and it's article was filled with outrageous inaccuracies and outright lies I called People magazine and left a message and followed it up with a email. Letting them know that unless they corrected the article I would be emailing all my friends and posting to my facebook that People magazine should be boycotted and to pass on the request to their friends. As well as immediately cancelling my subscription. Within an hour the story was updated with the correct info. I'm not silly enough to think it was my phone call or email but I'm sure I was not the only one that let them know their article was a total disgrace.

One individual can make a difference. And if multiple individuals work together we can ensure that some measure of justice is achieved by making sure Casey and her Defense team won't be rolling in the dough as much as they intended. I'm aware that some fool company will give her $$$ for interviews and book deals. But I want to minimize the amount of loot Casey can get. And that will have me sleeping like a baby at night.

LOL.. The same thing happened to me this week. I was going to sleep and hubby asked if I wanted to watch. I just said who cares about KC anymore. Let's move on.

Oddly, same thing happened to me. Hubby has been complaining for 3 years about my "obsession", suddenly last week was actually sitting through HLN, JVM and NG (rarely) coverage of where FCA could be. I also have my mom, who was never interested, get interested around 1/2 way through the trial. Now she is actively watching HLN on her own and calling me about things she's seen and heard on TV.

I just want to move on and eventually I know I will.
Always will be hoping for Justice for Caylee.
Will never accept the verdict. Will never forget Caylee.

I mentioned earlier that I hope before we move on, each of us consider things we can do to see that this sad result is not repeated. Many of you have already done things toward this end and I thank you. FWIW, this is what I wrote to my legislators and governor. I am certainly not suggesting that this is what anyone else should write, but if you feel as I do, I hope that you will write something to your own representatives. I too believe that together we can make some needed changes.

Dear

In light of the recent Casey Anthony case in Florida, I think it is patently evident that there are a number of deficiencies in our system of jurisprudence. I believe there are simple legislative remedies that would preclude a repeat of the most severe problems this case highlighted.

In that regard I am writing to request that you introduce a bill in support of “Caylee’s law – a law which would make it a felony to fail to inform the police if a child is missing or dead.

Additionally, it is imperative that we have an impartial and fair jury selection process. Toward that end, I ask that you introduce a bill that accomplishes the following:

• Changes the way citizens avoid jury service – the first twelve names called are required to serve (unless they are related to the defendant or attorneys, critically ill, or a similarly exigent circumstance). This would result in a jury comprised of a broad representation of citizens, avoid the “stealth juror” and would foster better-informed decisions by said jury. This change would eliminate the current truism that a jury is a group of people too dumb to get out of jury service.

• Makes it illegal for a juror to receive compensation for his “story” following a verdict. This would eliminate the temptation for jurors to reach a “surprise” verdict in order to gain financially for their story.

• Eliminates sequestered juries on capital cases

• Increases the per diem payment to jurors – especially those serving on a capital case

• Provides jurors an instruction/education class prior to the first day of trial (capital case), which would explain: what is/isn’t evidence: what are opening statements; what is direct/circumstantial evidence; what a juror must/may/may not consider in deliberations. Too often verdicts are handed down out of ignorance of the law – this must change.

I respectfully request that you support and work towards enacting legislation to this end.

Sincerely,

Thanks to all of you for making me want to speak out on this case. You have educated me so much on so many matters concerning this case and I sincerely thank you. Italy

Yep, over it. i am shunning her, and anything relating to her. Her as a topic does not exist. Caylee will ever be in my heart and soul, but I have done with discussing, reading, watching newscoverage having anything to do with the players in this case. Family, attorney's, bounty hunters, all of it.

I only care about one person, and she will never be allowed to tell her story, her mother saw to that so - finit.

When coverage comes on, I immediately change the channel. I will be watching no movies, reading no books, articles. None of it, no more will I speak the name of the person I feel got away with murder.

She is less than nothing and beneath my notice. The Universe or God, whatever name you want to put on it will sort her out, I am done wasting another moment of my life on this piece of garbage.

My fear (and I think this has been touched on) is the public will move on, she'll be forgotten &, honestly, I don't think she deserves that.. I don't feel she deserves to be out here living a "good life". I wish this case didn't bother me so much!

This definitely applies to this case:

But maybe we can take some small measure of comfort in OJ's trajectory. He was never accepted into decent society again. I don't remember him giving a single post-verdict interview...And his golfing buddy was Bryant Gumbel, who at the time was anchoring the Today show and I assume had at least a little pull on who got on the show. At least I hope it turns out this way for Casey.
