GUILTY NE - Kerra Wilson, 8, Mitchell, 21 Sep 2011

I didn't see anything on that FB page about the SF...

Good article here-

Both parents have been questioned and have been identified as “persons of interest.” When using that term, Bartling said, she said family members are among the persons being “checked out” because they were reportedly the last ones to have seen the girl. Amanda Lopez and Salvador Lopez have been cooperative in the investigation.

Though neither the mother nor stepfather was at the press conference, Bartling said they have expressed gratitude to the community for the concern for Wilson. She said they are deeply worried about the girl and are plead for her safe return.

The girl has not had any history of running away and any disagreements with her parents are “normal 8-year-old disagreements,” Bartling said. The girl does have siblings, but they are too young to be questioned and helpful in the case.

Previous reports that the girl’s biological father had been interviewed were incorrect. Bartling said that Wilson’s mother does not know the girl’s father and that he has not been involved in her life. In fact, Bartling said, the girl’s mother has said that he does not know that he has a daughter.

Wish it was like Florida and they list the info on the RSO's vehicle.

Some on FB are saying there is a description of a truck she may have gotten into on a flyer being distributed.

Eight-year-old girl reported missing

The Mitchell Police Department and other authorities are investigating a missing person’s report involving an 8-year-old girl.

[snip]

Nebraska State Patrol Sgt. Monica Bartling has confirmed the girl had been dropped off at the west doors of the Mitchell Elementary School at 8 a.m. this morning. The girl did not show up for school and the school notified her mother that she had not been in school.

[snip]

The girl’s relatives reported that she was last seen in the north parking lot of Mitchell Elementary School around 8 a.m.

[snip]

Bartling said an Amber Alert has not been issued because the NSP does not have any information so far that leads authorities to believe that the girl had been abucted. She said authorities also don’t have other information, such as a possible vehicle or person that the girl could be with that would be able to be provided to citizens.

Search on for missing girl

The search for a missing 8-year-old girl expanded Thursday beyond this small town, where the girl was last seen.

Authorities are looking for Kerra Wilson of Mitchell, last seen at 8 a.m. MDT Wednesday by her stepfather as he dropped her off at school.

Investigators canvassed the town of Mitchell a second time. They also focused on areas in and around Mitchell, Morrill and county canals and rivers.

[snip]

Video from security cameras at the school and neighboring businesses recorded no images of the girl.

[snip]

She said family members have been interviewed and “completely cooperative.” The girl had not run away before, Bartling said.

Don't the parents usually appear to plead for the return of their child?

Any ideas on what make/model for this truck?

Presser's tomorrow at 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Per Lt. Bartling of the Nebraska State Patrol.

It is a late 80s Ford Ranger. You don't see too many around anymore and if you do, they are usually pretty beat up.
