Rest in Peace Natalee and Stephany...you both were too young to be brutally murdered by this monster, but justice will be served on Friday the 13th...Joran I hope you're ready to be in prison for a long time, now your family can't get you out of a murder that you confessed.......

CASEY and JORAN= kids with horns and long pointy tails---SPAWN of Satan

Yup. Casey, Joran, Osama, Lori, Fred, and Jerry are all Spawn of Satan. They all deserve to rot in Hell right next to each other.

So he's looking at a possible 50 years in the US?

That would be 30 years after he is released assuming he survives. Wonder if there is a statute of limitations for extortion and wire fraud.

Uncertainty about van der Sloots extradition to US:
Jan 11, 2012

He faces up to 30 years in a prison with a 15-year minimum, but his attorneys are asking for only five years. The ultimate sentence will be decided by a judge Friday.
So what are the chances van der Sloot ever ends up in Alabama to face charges he extorted money from Holloway's family in exchange for leading them to Natalee's body?
"We're really at the mercy of the Peruvian government," said former federal Judge John Carroll, Dean of Samford's Cumberland Law School. "International extradition is based on treaties, and we have a treaty that was signed in 1901."
Carroll says that 1901 treaty lists specific charges that would allow prosecutors to extradite van der Sloot and wire fraud isn't one of them, that could make it even more difficult to bring van der Sloot here.
"This goes through diplomatic channels, the state department has to be involved," Carroll said. "They could well say, come back and talk to us when he's served his five years. Now there could be some negotiations where they say, 'We'll let him come to the U.S.' I think the odds are good, eventually at some point. I think the problem is the Peruvian government, who has custody of him, we'll say, 'Look, come talk to us after his sentence is over.'"

Joran van der Sloot Faces Extradition to Alabama in Natalee Holloway Case

Van der Sloot, who grew up in Aruba, could now face extradition to the U.S., according to reports. The possible extradition stems from extortion charges he faces in Alabama.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Birmingham told MSNBC they are ready to try him and are looking into extradition. The central question remains whether van der Sloot will have to serve his Peruvian sentence first.

Joran van der Sloot, the confessed murderer of the youngStephany Flores, would enjoy more privileges in Castro Castro prison cell, such as Internet access, mobile phones and other common facilities that a defendant does not have.

The pictures on their cell taken by the same Dutch citizen show that has a 42 inch LCD TV, speakers and a Blu-ray player to watch movies in 3D, according to a report from the TV show "At Once".

Very distrubing, if true.

This would be very disturbing if true because the only way he can get internet and any television reception is directly from the prison administration. :furious:

ETA: I just watched the video and it does appear as though he might have a mobile phone with internet access through a data plan. Unbelievable. :banghead:

Do we know what time he's due back in court for his sentencing today?

He just arrived in court. In Session is covering. I think HLN is going to cover it as well.

IS says it will take about an hour.

There he is in a green shirt. sitting next to cab drivers acting like hes being bothered. wonder what cab drivers are thinking? :maddening:

It is disturbing but when it comes to him nothing is shocking. Is that what MH's money paid for too?

I hope they release his messages. I can't make all of them out, but there are messages from Mary and AVDS.

on christi paul's fb page she posted about having a cole thompson who would be talking on HLN this morning about "chilling" details re: stephany's murder...

what did he say? TIA

Just how deep does MH's involvement go?

Petition to the IACHR

what happened with the supposed intention of Van der Sloot to sue American Court of Human Rights in Peru for alleged improprieties in the process? The lawyer Aldo Cotrina, promoting demand in the United States, told El Comercio that will not continue with the case.

"Due to constant death threats with intent to irreparable damage to my person, I have decided not to continue with my legal representation in court" he said.

Jose Luis Jimenez , current Dutch lawyer, said that neither he nor his client know Cotrina. He explained that the U.S. Mary Hammer, known as Joran's guardian angel, 'I paid for this.

"Van der Sloot was upset by the statements of Cotrina. I think he is so 'Coca-Cola' as the Hammer, "he said.

MH paid for the American attorney to petition for JVDS' human rights?

First, I don't believe for a moment that this American attorney quit due to threats, I believe it is more that he saw the writing on the wall, saw who he was supposed to be defending and saying he needs to quit due to threats is his way out.

Jimenez mocks MH and this attorney yet he took MH's money too. He got up in court with claims of PTSD, yet who is it that has been making those claims, MH. AVDS was obviously aware of what MH was doing.

I believe MH is in for a big surprise when she sees that she'll now be tossed to the curb after they got her money.

JMHO

:floorlaugh:

Actually I think the word they were looking for there in the translation was a form of Loco...crazy

But "full of coca cola" is so much funnier! :D

JVS looking very nervous now. Sweating and gulping... 'Bout time!
