I can't speak for everybody, of course, but I would guess that people making fun of his appearance are doing so because 1) he goes around bragging about how devastatingly gorgeous he is (which he really isn't as good looking as he thinks), and 2) out of anger.
I would guess that it is just venting anger at a guy who comes off as having an over-inflated sense of 'beauty', who went on to kill a man who actually was quite attractive.
I don't think it is "oh, he killed somebody because he is ugly". I think it is just an emotional reaction to his own ramblings, and the crime he committed.

I agree, BorgQueen. If he were a kind, good person, we would/could find the good in his appearance. I really think it is less judging and more anger. In one of the links to one of his ramblings he says something like: when I pass a mirror I see this really, really good looking guy and then I realize it's me! Or his "devastatingly good looking" comment. His arrogance is kind of like a slap in the face because he is so awful. He's ugly because he's a murdering creep. Jmo

Tha background noises at times get very loud, but I can't figure out what they are. I googled the 900 number that can be seen at the bottom of the screen and the results I got were that it belongs to an online game called "Runescape" or a Russian cell phone. The number is 1-900-451-0451 (as far as I can make out, it isn't too clear)

Hi Everyone. I'm also a new poster who has been watching the thread pretty much since this entire story first broke - but was too afraid to post ANYTHING online until Magnotta was caught (probably silly, but this case is unlike anything I've ever heard).

A couple of things I've been wanting to share.

1) I have an associate who's a film director. About a year and a half ago, he was casting for a series of short films in the horror genre. Magnotta actually sent him a headshot trying to snag an audition and according to my associate - Magnotta was very pushy about it. A quick Google search revealed Magnotta's connections to KH, which my associate found pretty creepy, so he ended contact with Magnotta. Someone very close to me ended up landing the role...which also stopped me from posting any of this info until LM was safely behind bars.

2) Has anyone yet linked to this YouTube video? I find it incredibly strange. Accordingly to Wikipedia, "What's My Line" was a game show that ran in the late 1950's to mid 1960's. As you'll notice, there's no audio from the show itself but some kind of noise can be heard in the background. Here is the link:

The video stops halfway through and shows something like a screen capture of a bunch of LM videos then continues on. I just find it creepy and I don't know what to make of it.

P.S. I can't get over what a fantastic job you've all done throughout this whole thing. It takes a lot of time and dedication and I'm sure you've contributed to getting the word out about Magnotta. I was always so impressed at how quick you were to call in possible leads and tips to the authorities. You all deserve a pat on the back :clap:

That was linked in a post very early in the threads. I agree, it's very weird and I'm not sure what to make of it. I did an imdb search on his name and found nothing - TV shows are listed but game show contestants aren't considered "cast". Maybe there was a short-lived remake of the old "What's My Line" and Luka managed to be cast as a contestant, back before he really went off the deep end. There is video of him somewhere on YT as a contestant on a gay fashion show (sorry, can't find the link) so it's not improbable that he was cast on a WML remake, if one existed. Sometimes if a show is cancelled right out of the gate there won't be reruns o a real online record, unless someone managed to record the episode from the TV. Maybe it was his Gran's TV, I know of several old folks that still kept their behemoth 60's TV's until the all digital change made them defunct.

Here is my guess: It looks like it was a professional edit job by someone that probably works in digital editing f/x. I think LM's head was superimposed on a real contestants body. I have friends who work at Lucas and this would be a cinch for a pro.

LM met the digital editor/fx either as an escort or it was a short-lived friendship that ran its course for obvious reasons. During the time that they were "seeing" each other, the digital editor made this for him to both show off his skills and to fulfil a desire or request from LM, During the honeymoon phase, so to speak.

Other than that, I can't think of a thing but I'm eagerly looking forward to the thoughts of others.

I am busy reading about if human flesh consumption can make you sick...They have done studies on this. Evidently if spinal fluid got on the meat it can make you quite ill. Initially, the background noises sound like coughing, then it sounds like Darth Vader.......creepy

I believe this was recorded old school, with a video camera set up in front of a running TV and the background noises are from the house/apt. where it's being recorded.

First off, my hat's off to all of who and your amazing work. I've been following this case since it broke and stumbled across this page and have been glued to it since...
As a gay male with an asian boyfriend and connections to many of the places he has been or claimed to have been, and being roughly the same age as LRM, this case intrigued me for many different reasons, all bad. It makes me appreciate my partner that much more...and I'm just glad he got caught!

On another note, is it just me or do one of those rings on his amazon wishlist looks like one of the rings he is wearing in many of his pictures?? sorry, too busy with work to look for the links at the moment.

I've been reading the forum throughout this story as a guest. First of all, great job on everything and for dealing with this whole thing with a level of maturity sadly missing elsewhere.

I wanted to throw a theory your way and see what you think...

We know this guy has travelled a LOT, despite never seemingly accumulating a level of personal wealth. We know this guy has been openly 'for rent' - be it as a prostitute or whatever else.

Part of me just wonders if this was a guy advertising himself as being willing to do 'anything' for a client. First of all it was perhaps just rough sex, bondage or whatever. One day a client maybe asks him to do something a bit more quirky. Words spreads that there's this guy willing to do anything.

We've all seen what he's supposedly been willing to do 'for his master'. It seems nothing was out of bounds for this guy, especially if it pays well. Soon he's getting offers from people abroad... the kind of people looking for someone willing to do 'anything' for their perverted entertainment. Russia... Columbia... these are the kinds of places LRM was visiting.

Eventually someone asks him to do some sick things, film it, and send over the video. In return he gets the free 'business' trip, some plastic surgery perhaps, some fancy expensive 'brand name' clothing and a decent payment. Initially it's animals, but the pays good and he's getting away with it.

If this was the case, maybe it worked alongside his craving for fame. When he started doing the smaller job, it was to pay the way until he became the model/actor or whatever it was he so longed to be. Then when he started to branch into maniacal acts of cruelty, he saw a way to create fame in a different way.

I just feel like as insane as this guy was, there could be something lurking in the background that inspired these acts. That maybe all along he was receiving some form of aid or finance, because it was all part of a job. Maybe he was - at one time - working for members of the Russian mafia... providing them with a service of some kind whether is was as a prostitute, slave, or film maker. I wonder if there's a layer to all of this - possibly involving the deep web - that is yet to be discovered? Maybe LRM is just a pawn in a bigger game? Perhaps there are other LRM's out there, they just stay underground and don't crave attention? When he talks of injustice, is it a split personality or does he truly believe he's not responsible - he's just following instructions? An employee? Was he working for someone this entire time?

I just see all these images of the guy in Russia... France... South America... England, plans to travel to Austraia etc... and don't see how life as a humble male escort could provide that. Sure, the guy was crazy enough to do all of this stuff on a whim, but why was he travelling all over the place? Why is he holding a python of identical kind in South America to the ones in the kitten video - clearly shot in a different continent?

IDK - just a theory I wanted to throw out there. He may just be a cruel maniac who thought so little of life and wanted to shock the internet. Or maybe arresting this guy needs to simply be the first step in a greater investigation?

I'm also a huge dog person and I struggle to sleep at night thinking about what happened to the puppy in the latest video. Not to mention the countless other dogs he was photographed with over the years. I know someone posted photobucket accounts and I had the misfortune of witnessing what appeared to be some further animal cruelty to a dog, images that will probably take a lifetime to evaporate - if ever. He also spoke in interviews about 'losing' a dog (or a dog being killed) due to the false rumours linking him with Karla Homolka. More than anything right now I just want to hear this guy say he was paid to kill those kittens and otherwise has never harmed an animal before.

I don't remember the defence presenting any testimony suggesting fiction. What I do recall is that during cross examination of witnesses, the defence asked questions that could lead the jury in the wrong direction, but the witnesses disagreed with the defence suggestion and that was the end of it. That is, although the defence asked questions that attempted to twist the witness testimony, but there was no testimony presented that was based on fiction.

The entire defense opening statement in the CMA case was fiction and was never substantiated the entire trial. I never heard testimony from Rafferty's trial but thinking back to Karla H, wasn't the entire defense she presented a truck load of 'fiction'?
