I find myself doubting that he has had any elective plastic surgery and my reasoning is basically: follow the money. We are aware of his 2007 bankruptcy filing which would demonstrate his financial status, we are led to believe he worked as an escort and we know of no employment that he held for a consistent period of time. This would lead me to believe he would not have the funds to pay for such procedures.

There was one piece of information that I believe ~n/t~ uncovered which was for a continuing monthly payment that was related to medical expenses. ~n/t~ might you please fill in the blanks on that?

In the end, I'm not sure and have the same questions you raised in your post.

If , in fact he was hospitalized and in an assisted living facility and on meds he would qualify for financial aide - , if the Social Worker angle is accurate, he would qualify to get money,from agencies as a result of his mental illiness......

The Judge presiding over this trial is Judge Lorie-Renée Weitzman. I've been trying to locate any information on her but haven't had any success so far. I'd like to know what other cases she's presided over. Thanks to anyone who can help. In the meantime, I'll keep searching.

I've been wondering if one of his clients was a plastic surgeon, lol, because unless Luka earned a lot of money from his *advertiser censored* flicks, prostitution and stealing neighbour's credit card, I believe there is no way he could afford a lot of nip tuck to look like James Dean.

I don't know much info about the monthly payment for his medical expenses,

For those who think jail is not enough for the likes of Luka and would prefer to have him executed, this makes a good argument against the death penalty.

I'll have to agree with both you guys. I know I have advocated for fire and brimstone, but on second thought... :floorlaugh:

IMO this is the most likely place for him (and this have been mentioned before some time ago in the thread).
It is a Quebec facility able to house cases especially like this one:

Looks quite marvelous.
Although the weather may be somewhat lacking for someone with a taste for international travel.
It is also rather.... isolated.
And right smack next to the airport landing strip.

Maybe some of the debt he got into was through paying for cosmetic procedures? Has all the debt been accounted for? Also he was convicted of fraud... do we know what he spent that money on?

I seem to remember that, in the reality tv audition the interviewer asks to see the scars and does seem to be able to see them.

You make fun of Luka, make fun of how he looks and acts. This happens every day to a lot of people. People like LM. People who don't "fit in", who are abandoned by their family, who have mental problems or disorders and are being treated like scum. Tormented souls.

I am NOT defending his actions, I am not on 'his side". But this is how society treats people who are different. They are being shut out, picked on, etc.
And once in a while, a "Luka" can't handle it anymore and does awfull things to other human beings. An answer to neglect, a loveless life, being bullied, being misunderstood.
Following this case, it fulfills me with sadness. For both victim and killer.

I am just now reading your post (trying to catch up).

With all due respect, this whole case is about one individual who murdered an innocent, decent man for no reason at all. This murder was brutal and obscene. No way am I going to go easy on Magnotta. We are not talking about all who were abandoned by his/her family. In fact, we do not know if this was Magnotta's decision or the family's decision to not keep in close touch. We are not talking about mentally impaired or 'tortured' people in general. We are talking about a barbaric murderer here. A real sadist. I feel no sympathy whatsoever for Magnotta and am surprised when anyone can.

The one person I am filled with sadness for is Jun Lin, the victim. I am also filled with almost unbearable sadness for Jun Lin's family.

I have just mainly read and not posted about this case because it makes me sick to my very core.

This is my opinion and I stick by it.

Jun Lin decided to Canadianize his name to Jun (Justin) Lin, and I think people should respect his wish to do so.

Well I think he decided to Westernize his name and I think posters can refer to him, either by his Eastern name of Lin Jun, in respect for his family, or by his Western name of Jun Lin, in respect for him. Either way will work and is fine.

So let's move past this NOW!

When I was a child, I was the "weird girl". I was bullied for 7 years. They beat me up, shut me out, ignored me, called me names. I also had problems at home. I was completely isolated, because no one would listen or would take the time to see the signs there was something wrong.
It took me years to recover. I never hurt anyone, but I can understand people like me are pushed over the edge. Hate can build up and some people (like LM) apperently can't controll that hate for other human beings. To me it looks like LM hated society and people so much, he created his own imaginary perfect world. I believe at some point he "woke up" and found himself completely alone. With nothing but hate, sadness. Like I said before, I believe this was his answer to all the pain.

I am so sorry for the pain you have endured, Dutchie43. I can honestly and sincerely say that I would have been your friend. I would have stood with you. My very best friend through school had been treated this way until I befriended her and spoke up to others. The way you were treated was wrong, plain and simple. Clearly you did not become a sadistic murderer because of it though.

You will always have many friends here! Please include me among them.
