Tells jury "you know what he (#sandusky) did, he knows what he did....give him the justice he deserves"

McGettigan showed an excerpt from Amednola’s opening statements in which he says: ‘the commonwealth has overwhelming evidence against Mr. Sandusky.” McGettigan said it sounds like there is a conspiracy alleged by Amendola that includes prosecutors, investigators and Mike McQueary.

To start, McGettigan walked up in front of the jury box, the same place Amendola stood. His voice is a lot quieter and hard to hear.

McGettigan said -- the investigators “were not the best witnesses in the world." You only heard 16 minutes of that interview recording and it was mostly just a chat between an investigator and an attorney. The defense didn’t want you hear the rest of the tape…because it’s a litany of “the crap” Accuser 4 was subjected to. There are so many “egregious offenses” here.

McGettigan showed the jurors the 8 pictures of the accusers again. (Accuser 6, in the gallery, closes his eyes and tears up)…then shows a pictures of Sandusky and says “and that’s the guy who did it.”

McGettigan said -- You have to have some sympathies and compassions for the accusers who had a hard time testifying.

McGettigan says he noticed the defense never asked the accusers about the specific allegations…instead defense asked about times, places, etc.

Got a question for you all-could this have been Matt's way of telling his father to stay off the stand- JS prolly was screaming he wanted to testify & Matt said-you are going to ruin your case-if you get up there-I will testify against you!!
 
McGettigan called Sandusky a “benign pedophile” because he was always so nice to the boys and they wanted to be around him.

McGettigan explained the steps of a “shrewd” predatory pedophile:
Accuser 6…Sandusky has shower with 6 and hugs him.

Accuser 5…Sandusky has shower with 5 and Sandusky makes 5 touch him

It progressed to forced intercourse…Accuser One, Four, Nine

McGettigan said -- He (Sandusky) thinks these are relationships” (Sandusky is sitting, looking at McGettigan with a smirk)

McGettigan said -- Sandusky had a “pool of vulnerable victims”, and access to their personal information, phone numbers, addresses, family information, etc.

McGettigan talked about McQueary’s testimony…..McQueary has stood up to criticism and said what he saw.

McGettigan said -- He (Sandusky) had a chance to talk to Bob Costas and make his case. What did he say?” “I would think if someone asked you if you’re a criminal, a pedophile” you’re immediate answer would be NO…you wouldn’t repeat the question and think of an answer.

McGettigan said it was important Dottie Sandusky said she couldn’t think of a reason why the accusers would lie…McGettigan says the question he was going to follow up with was “and you, so you know they’re not lying, right?” and she would’ve had to have said yes. (During this, Dottie leaned a little more in to hear, scrunched her face as if she couldn’t hear well).

well at least that makes some sense..but why would the SA go for that deal? let him testify, put matt on the stand? why not?

i dont get it
 
McGettigan said -- Now I feel like I have pieces of 10 souls in my pocket, pieces of childhoods ravaged, boys’ memories incinerated by this pedophile…I can’t give them back portions of their souls..but it’s what you can do and what you should do and what you must do.

McGettigan dramatically leaves the jury…and walks directly behind Sandusky, pointing at him. Sandusky, who had been smiling, nervously tries to keep his head toward McGettigan but uncomfortably turns a bit…as McGettigan continues (and gets choked up himself), saying -- He molested, abused children, horribly. You can’t give them back their souls. But he knows he did it. And you know he did it. Acknowledge it and give them justice. And give him the justice he really deserves.
